Ahh that's right. My bad. So Blaine Gabbert MVP ehh? How about Cam Newton?

Those two are as good as anyone to come along at the position as long as I've been following the draft. I don't see their like in the college ranks, either. From a pure tools perspective. They'll get coached up in the pro ranks. Gabbert especially.

Check the combine numbers for quarterbacks over the years. Prospects from the 2011 class have as good an all round performance as any. Newton and Gabbert also bring top notch arm strength. Gabbert adds top notch Wonderlic score. Newton is an unparalleled blend of size, speed, and elusiveness at the position.

By the numbers the 2011 QB class has been the best all time in the NFL so far in their careers. Newton and Gabbert were (and are) the best of that class. So, yeah, I have no problem seeing them as among the best prospects ever. Neither had the coaching from the cradle Andrew Luck had, although Newton's dad was a former pro player. But they both have a better tool set than Luck.

It's like beating a dead horse with you. Gabbert sucks. He seriously is scared back in the pocket.

Except for the whole fact that Gabbert wasn't even good in college so...

He seriously had reasons to be scared. Played most of 2011 with a broken toe and damaged rib cartilege. Played a good part of 2102 with a torn labrum in his shoulder. No one wants to be crippled before they turn 23 years old. You don't help your team sitting on IR.

Gabbert scored a 42. Marino scored a what, 13?

BTW, Mallett had a 26, which is pretty solid and isn't an idiot.

Also, watch him perform at Arkansas. Going up against the closest things to NFL defenses there is week after week in the SEC. Also, he's learning behind one of the greats.

You are a moron to say he was never a first round talent. His character and overall game is being developed by one of the best coaches and sitting behind one of the best QBs

If you're playing scared in football, you don't belong in the nfl.

Better record in the same conference than Griffin III while they both were there. Came out after getting a first round grade from the draft board in 2011, while Griffin was getting a fourth round grade.

Gabbert didn't start playing football till high school. Played two years on a bad team, missed his senior year, was off football for four months, walked into the Army All America camp and beat Luck out for the starting job. Luck been trained as a quarterback from birth by his father and the Mannings. Had a record setting high school career, and was perfectly healthy when he showe up. That is the difference. You can change a player's style but you can't change the God given gifts.

Uuuhh....if you are never "scared" and don't bother to try to protect yourself from harm, you don't usually belong among the living for too long. But at least you have that Darwin Award.

Answer me why Gabbert is scared without pressure? Tell me why the Jags offense looked much better when Henne took over?

Come on dude. You have to be an idiot to think Gabbert is going to be a good QB.

Jags offense looked "better" for one game under Henne. Which was the game Gabbert was hurt at the beginning, and the defense hadn't prepared for Henne. After that they were worse. Henne finished with worse passing numbers than Gabbert in about the same amount of snaps. Plus the second half was by far the easier portion of the Jags schedule. The first few weeks they were facing a top rated defense every game.

I already think Gabbert is a good quarterback. He finished with better completion rate and passer rating than Luck, Tannehill. Locker, and better completion rate than Newton last year. Those guys all drafted higher and earn a lot more money than Blaine. Also they are all older than he is.

Blaine Gabbert is obviously the G.O.A.T. I'd trade Luck for him tomorrow. Let's not argue with this "knowledgable" Jacksonville fan.

The Jags should trade for Ryan Mallett.

7th round pick and it's a deal. They only have two quarterbacks on the roster and you want at least three going to camp.

Trade for Mallett and cut Gabbert.
Best decision for all parties involved. Gabby needs a new start in a town that hasn't seen him play on a week to week basis.

I think the Jags should roll with Henne the guy never gets any love but he can get there. He has those flashes of Elite QB then he goes back to average/below average QB.

Yeah I still have love for Henne too. I still think he has it in him to be a starter in this league.

Everyone except the people who pay and coach Gabbert want to replace him. Which is fine. A year ago the 49ers and the Titans were tripping over each other trying to sign Peyton Manning, even though they both had a veteran starter (Smith, Hasselbeck) plus a highly drafted rookie (Kaepernick, Locker) already on their roster. Jaguars showed NO interest. This year, a few more vets on the market, and Jaguars show NO interest. New G.M., new coaching staff, still NO interest. Vikings (Ponder) looking. Browns (Weeden) looking. Bucs (Freeman) looking. But not the Jaguars.
