Both Taylor and Washington have more college production than Ansah. Athletically they have similar ability. Who is to say what they will make of it?

of course not.

I would counter by saying that his skillset isnt completely unique, and that under your same logic (chiefs have filled every need and can afford to take a risk) it would make more sense for the chiefs to go ahead and draft Geno Smith.
It wouldn't make sense now, although it could have. They not only have Smith, they signed Chase Daniel. You can question the wisdom of doing so, but they don't need a QB at this point. They DO need a difference making outside rusher.

the only thing that would make sense for the chiefs is trading down:

OT: chiefs have Stephenson, Albert, Schwartz, Allen
Jordan: somewhat raw converted TE. underweight, avg arm length
Floyd: ridiculously short arms (31.75''). should not play 3-4

Would love this guy even at 1. I don't care that he isn't completely polished. He owned everyone but Eric Fisher at the Senior Bowl and his combine was awesome. His tape last year was also very very impressive.

He can play 3 tech or OLB. Chiefs only got 27 sacks last year (bottom 5 in the league) so this pick makes a ton of sense.

And Reid loves him some DL. He's drafted DL in the first round most of the time in Philly.
If this is the case, they it makes all sorts of sense that they signed Geoff Schwartz, a move hardly anyone seems to have paid attention to. They might not think Joekel is all that.

Or drafting a unique, dynamic defensive talent like Ansah.

Because I absolutely abhor Floyd. I just don't think he's any good at all. Awful production, short arms. The best thing I can say about him is he works well in space. You want that from a linebacker or safety, not a DT/DE.

Neither one of those guys scare anyone nor do they have the ceiling Ansah has. I tell you what, Andy Reid apparently thinks it makes sense.

Floyd should play 3-tech in a 4-3. With those short arms he shouldnt play end in any scheme.

I agree and didn't realize he had short arms.

We've definitely seen that before with Glenn Dorsey. We all know how that worked out.

First of all, I didn't say they can't draft or not draft anyone, so pipe down. The report was that the Chief love Ansah, a point you either missed or have already forgotten. I was only offering reasons as to why they may want to pick him at that spot. When you invest in two QBs in the off season, you probably have decided you are not going to pick a QB number 1 overall. As far as not needing a pass rusher goes, I'm sure that if the Chiefs are interested in Ansah, they see him as BETTER than Houston and Ali, and I do as well. And unlike the QB situation, they didn't just acquire these two pass rushers a few weeks ago. Sorry this has been so complicated for you.

shows how much you know.

As of 11/29/2012 Houston was Pro Football Focusís highest graded 3-4 OLB, with a mark of +18.0. He finished the yr as their 4th ranked 3-4OLB

Tamba Hali was ranked top 10 in pass rushing productivity as an OLB. In the previous 2yrs he was a double digit sack guy.

I am just calling you out on your ******** logic.

Shouldnt draft player X because dont need.
Dont need player Y but draft anyway.

at least try to stay consistent. IF you want to disregard need when selecting a player like Ansah, than you should disregard need for players at other position groups too.

I see that you struggle with abstract thought. Go back and read my last post. I underlined a key sentence. Can you name that sentence? Very good! Now, go ahead and read it real good because it's underlined. Get it now? The CHIEFS, as in not me, the CHEIFS believe that QB is not a need IF the report that they like Ansah as their #1 pick is true. Likewise, the CHIEFS believe they can improve their outside pass rush regardless of who they have IF the report that they like Ansah as their #1 pick. So it's not my "bull$hit logic." IF they reports are true, then it's the CHIEFS bull$hit logic and you can go act pissy with them. Once again, you can disagree with them or maybe you just don't believe the reports have any merit, and that's fine. But to put this turd at my doorstep is a clear indication of your poor comprehension skills.

Absolutely love when random draftniks think they're above thousands of analysts and scouts who get paid to evaluate these players. No no, he's top 5 on everyone's board but your the correct one who claims he isn't any good at all. Teams would be wise to take your advice into consideration and just take Floyd off their boards lol

That is a big if. This is smoke and mirror time and you have to take the reports with a grain of salt. Instead, earlier, you run with the reports as if it is fact...which it is not. it is speculation. your earlier post:

By the way, I would still appreciate it if someone could provide a link from a reputable source speculating that the chiefs "love Ansah."

Having a player in for a private workout and interviewing them at the combine could just be due dilligence. Chiefs have set workouts with Joeckel, Fisher, and Lane Johnson too.

QB is the biggest need for the Chiefs at this point. Chase Daniel is a career backup, and Alex Smith is the definition of mediocre. The #1 need will be a franchise QB until they get one, and they don't have one on the roster.

By the way, the chiefs already have a tweener on the roster that was drafted by the Old regime. His name is Allen Bailey, a former 3rd round draft pick. Here are his numbers compared to JPP and Ansah:

JPP : 6'4.6'', 270lbs, 4.71 forty, 1.65 10yrd, 7.18 3-cone, 30.5'' vertical, 9'7'' broad

ansah: 6'4.4'', 271lbs, 4.63 forty, 1.56 10yrd, 7.11 3-cone, 34.5'' vertical, 9'8'' broad

Bailey: 6'3'', 285lbs, 4.71 forty, 1.67 10yrd, 7.43 3-cone, 36.5'' vertical, 9'9'' broad

LOL, okay. We are well aware of how you feel about the QB situation, but it's not about what you consider a need, it's about the Chiefs, and they have their men.

Doesn't matter, Bailey can't play in space and Ansah is better. And you still haven't acknowledged that IF the report is true, the Chiefs disagree with all or part of what you have said.

If by biggest you mean 7th or 8th biggest need behind WR, ILB, RT, DE, RB, and S...

If you actually think Alex Smith is the future of anything on this team then you're out of your mind. Anyone with half a brain knows the QB position is far from solved for the Chiefs.
