Also not in love with the Ertiz pick. They have Garrett Celek on the roster who is a traditional TE that they really like, that also played well when given opportunities last year. If they draft a TE I feel it will be an H-back type.

Scott,

you really think Star drops to Tampa? If he does, that is an absolute steal. This guy will be a monster in the NFL.

While I think S. Williams is a sound pick for NE and would not be unhappy with that selection, I'm starting to think Tank Carradine might be the way to go; if not coming off an ACL he'd probably be a Top 20 pick, and we don't have many opportunities at prospects like him. Paired with C. Jones next year, we might finally solve our pass rush woes.

At one point the Cardinals carried Kevin Kolb, Drew Stanton, Brian Hoyer, John Skelton and Ryan Lindley on their roster at the same time. Has there ever been a bigger collection of bad quarterbacks? Needless to say Arizona will likely be in the market for a top young signal caller to build around, unless new head coach Bruce Arians is actually na´ve enough to think they can win with Stanton. With Geno Smith of West Virginia already off the board they turn their attention to USC’s Matt Barkley
Is this comedy?

Minter is still and will always be a good pick for the Ravens. I'm not sure I like the potential pairing of him and McClain but he would definitely be better than any ILB they've had playing in space (AKA not the thumper role) over the last few seasons even if that's probably not the best way to use Minter.

I'd be just as (or maybe more) happy with Arthur Brown though.

With Dwan Edwards reportedly resigning after all, Richardson doesn't fit anymore. Sure Richardson would probably be better than Dwan, but overall that's just improving one position that isn't much of a need at the expense of actually addressing needs. Let's let the Chiefs do that. And if we lined them up together, it would provide a great pass rush, but we already have that, and he would do little to alleviate our run defense problems. People may argue its a pass-happy league, but you have to be able to defend the run to some extent to survive as a defense.

I'd hate to see Star go one pick ahead of us, to a division rival at that, but at that point I'd be better to either take an offensive lineman or trade down for a receiver or NT.

Cowboys will take OG, Jonathan Cooper before any safety. Cooper can play both OG & C, addresses a HUGE hole upfront. Protecting Romo and opening holes for the running game is key.

We can get a safety in the 2nd or 3rd rds.

I hate the Ertz pick:

1) I'm not sold on him as a 1st round talent in general.
2) TE is not as big of a need for SF as a DB or DL is.
3) Ertz doesn'tisn't a great fit for what we ask our TE2 to do.

If somebody wastes Cooper's talents by sticking him at center, I will be disappointed. By all means, draft him, but play him at OG. He'll be a stud at OG.

Not happy with the Ertz pick either. Can see it at 34 but even that I think is too high. Would prefer C Barrett Jones at 31 and either a DL/CB at 34. Safety can be late 2nd or in the 3rd. I think that unless Kilgore is ready to take over in 2014, drafting Jones would be a great pick. Would solidify the OL for a LONG time, can release Goodwin to clear cap room and still have Kilgore as the backup.

I'd be pretty happy with those pics for the Vikings. Assuming Austin is off the board. And it sounds like he will be.

Not buying Floyd as a realistic option for us at #3. We have signed 3 DT's this off season to replace Seymour and Bryant and with the rumored move to more 3-4 looks I just don't see how Floyd fits. Lotulelei or Dion Jordan make a lot more sense, we have zero pass rushers on the outside and Jordan could be the solution to that hole.

I love the Allen pick, but not 100% sold on Teo yet.

Oak isn't moving to a 3-4. All the lb signed would be 34 ILB. Base will still be 43. I do think DA will mix it up more this year if he can get the players he wants.

IMO oak pick will be either Geno Smith or Sharrif Floyd. If there both gone one of the OT or Milliner would be most logical

There's always some random UNC DT in every draft that people tout and they're never any good or simply don't go nearly as high as people project.

Aside from that, with Trufant still on the board, I don't see the Pats passing on a CB.

Most Chiefs fans I know have resigned themselves to the fact that Reid/Dorsey will blow the number 1 overall pick on a left tackle when they have one on the roster. Still maddening that the franchise doesn't want to be great, but wants to roll with 8-8, 10-6. Alex Smith sucks and I mean badly, Geno Should be the pick.

Why not? If Smith and Barkley are gone, I think Bills go best defensive player on the board, and a pass rushing LBer works perfectly. LB is arguably our weakest position outside of QB, and unless their QB board is significantly different than the rest of the league, in this scenario we are either trading up into the late first for our QB or waiting for the 2nd.

Just posted Round 2!

Felt bad leaving some guys out of top two rounds but there are only so many spots, especially since there are just thirty choices in Round 2 this year. Some big names who just missed the cut were Arkansas QB Tyler Wilson, North Carolina RB Giovanni Bernard, Oregon OG Kyle Long, Tennessee OT / OG Dallas Thomas, Alabama C Barrett Jones and S.M.U. DE Margus Hunt.

As always I'd be remiss not to mention how fine a line there is between the 32nd pick and the 50th. Lots of good value choices in early Round 2! The same goes for being a mid-to-late second and a third rounder. A lot of times it just boils down to the draft order and team needs.

I like the Ball selection, but if I'm being picky I'd prefer Franklin or Quinton Patton.

It's possible, but there is just so much uncertainty with Lotulelei's medical situation right now that it's hard to say. The Scouting Combine medical re-checks are on April 15th so that will be a big day for the draft stock of Star Lotulelei. Could easily still go in the Top 5 overall though.

I would be tempted to become a Jags fan if that's how the draft went for AZ

Logan Ryan doesn't really fit either. I mean I'd have no problem with taking a cornerback, but Gettleman's signed four defensive backs this offseason, three of which are corners. Little to no chance we take another one so early when we have other pressing needs.

Patton is an interesting pick for the Ravens in the second round.
