While I think Alabama will be one of the favourites to win it all again, the SEC's strength is its HC's, the SEC has many of the top HC's in college football and that is their real advantage over other conferences not necessarily talent.

I think Ohio St. with their HC will be in the running and give the SEC a real run for their money along with a few other college teams with solid HC's. I don't think you can count out Notre Dame with their freshman QB another year more experienced.

However, the track record is the track record and the SEC is certainly the favourite to repeat once again no matter who wins the SEC.

Yeah well... the next time Ohio St. stops an SEC in a bowl game will be the first.

The last time they played an SEC team in a bowl they beat one.

You are really a poor troll in that you can't even get your facts straight.

Trolling is an art, and it requires intelligence, imagination, and competence in the sphere of discussion, things which you sorely lack.

No sir that win don't count. Forfeited.

Tressel wanted to end that 0-9 streak vs. the SEC so bad he would've done damn near anything to accomplish it. Including taking a bunch of ineligible players down there to the Sugar Bowl.

You're still 0-9. Tremendous effort though.

Say, I do hope you get a shot with Urban. He might not make it out of the hospital this time after Saban gets done with him.

-you said "stop" and we did. they won the game on the field. taking away wins post-mortem is semantics and just something a loser troll like yourself uses in little girl arguments.

By the way, we forfeited the win from that game even though the NCAA let the inelgible players play (and only suspended them for regular season games) so it's not like we were playing ineligible players in that game anyways.

I respect the optimism but I disagree with about everything you said...

The OL was decent in 2012, they rolled up rushing stats against terrible defenses. We were pathetic against teams with an actual D-Line. UF and V-Tech dominated us. We did nothing in the 2nd half against NC State on the ground. Not to mention we were still painfully inadequate in short yardage situations. All that is unacceptable, and we will never be a true contender until that doesn't happen.

Sure we had 2 brand new Tackles last year, but who's fault is that? Its Trickett and his inability to recruit. We might have a good line this year with some experience returning, but we are incredibly thin so if we have one injury (which would be best case scenario since its only Spring) then we are scrambling. I am tired the same old excuses, "We're young" or "We're banged up." Everybody else has these same issues, you have to prepare for them.

The past couple recruiting cycles are very indicative of the problem where we are basically whiffing along the O-line. If you have multiple years where you don't bring in anyone who can contribute it just perpetuates the cycle of maybe having one good year out of four.

Even in the good years I've been pretty underwhelmed, our best O-lines with Hudson at guard would still routinely get dominated by good D-lines.

I wonder if JHL is going to count all of those NCs that are going to be inevitably stripped away after some sort of play for pay scandal occurs under Sabans watch.

Hey, look here. If you're going to pay 'em... at least win championships. Don't pay 'em and still suck like Miami or Ohio St.

As long as children aren't allowed to be molested and raped, we don't have a whole lot to complain about down here.

By the way, is someone making sure Urban is eating and spending time with his family?

Yep. I remember how mouthy the Hurricanes were back in the early 90's all the way up to literally 15 minutes before Bama rolled into the Sugar Bowl and put a 34-13 beatdown on 'em for the national title.

Hopefully Coach Golden has more good times on the way. Although I fear those days are probably long gone unfortunately.

I think that this Alabama dynasty is different than those of Miami, USC, or Florida. Saban has won national championships with multiple coordinators and QBs, something that neither of those schools did. In my opinion if you're going to beat Alabama you're going to have to do it by them beating themselves and having a bad week of practice. That is what happened against A&M, and Alabama still made it close. Either that or a team that is almost equally as talented as them and has a coordinator like LSU has with Chavis. I can't recall a team this century that has dominated recruiting as thoroughly as Alabama has. Not only that but they get the perfect guys for their system each and every year. Not only does Saban have the pick of litter when it comes to recruiting, he can get pretty much anyone he wants when it comes to coaching. LSU, Florida, UGA are the only teams that I could see as a threat to beating Alabama on a consistent basis.

It's taken Nick Saban six year what it took Bear Bryant right years to do, win three national championships. He's already half way to what Bryant did in his whole career. As long as he is married to his wife too I can't see him stepping down. She loves the college game and living in a college town.

That is what happened against A&M, and Alabama still made it close. Either that or a team that is almost equally as talented as them and has a coordinator like LSU has with Chavis. I can't recall a team this century that has dominated recruiting as thoroughly as Alama has. Not only that but they get the perfect guys for their system each and every year. Not only does he have the pick of litter when it comes to recruiting, he can get pretty much anyone he wants when it comes to coaching.

It's also the dominating fashion in which the Crimson Tide have done it.

For example, the 69 straight points Bama scored in national title games starting with the final 13 points against Texas in 2010, through the 21-0 shutout of LSU, and ending with the first 35 points scored against Notre Dame won't ever be broken in my opinion.

I mean, you're absolutely right. Ain't nobody beating Bama but Bama. It's going to take a team that's almost as talented, almost as well coached, almost as disciplined, almost as physical, and almost as well prepared....on top of Bama having somewhat of a bad day to even stand a chance at beating them.

All this coming together only has a chance of happening once or twice a season.

You really didn't follow the USC dynasty then, dominated in every facet my man. The recruiting classes made of gold, and they did go through several offensive coordinators. Chow, Kiffin/Sark, just Sark, they set the standard for national recruiting (which pisses me off a little now because we miss out on a lot of good California prospects).

I actually followed the USC dynasty very closely. However Carroll only won a national championship with Matt Leinart and Norm Chow. Yes they did go through coordinators, but they didn't win national championships with multiple quarterbacks and coordinators like Alabama has. Also, their recruiting classes haven't panned out as great has Alabama's have under Saban. Especially the recruiting classes during the end of Carroll's tenure. They got five star players in those classes, but a lot of them didn't pan out. Ronald Jonson, Chris Galippo, Joe McKnight, DJ Shoemate was at one time a five star, Marc Tyler, Devon Kennard. Meanwhile most of Alabama's five stars, Trent Richardson, DJ Fluker, Nico Johnson, Dre Kirkpatrick, Julio Jones, Dee Milliner, HaHa Dix, Cyrus Kouandjio, and T.J. Yeldon have lived up to the hype.

I don't think you can compare the two dynasties, and I'm biased towards USC. Carroll had some really great teams in 06-08, however those teams could never close and always lost one or two games they should not have lost. Alabama has sustained their level of play since 2008 have won multiple national championships with multiple coordinators and multiple quarterbacks.
