Hey brothers, I've got a trade scenario. The Dolphins have let it be known that they intend on drafting a LT. They are supposed to be targeting Lane Johnson but Johnson is not at all guaranteed to be there at the #12 pick. They are picking behind the Chargers. So how about this. We trade down with the Dolphins to they are assured to get their choice between Fisher and Johnson and maybe even Joeckel. We will then have a chance at Warmack, Cooper, Patterson, and even Geno Smith while gaining picks. What do you all think??

I'd gladly take a player like Warmack, but only if we get a 2nd round pick as well from it since we still have too many holes on defense.
This is very true, trade downs will be particularly though also because the draft is so deep that a 2nd and 3rd picks should be starters, however a possible LT could invite teams to take a shot but true value will be hard to come by.

Miami is a solid target, they have lots of extra picks and desperately need a LT, however if Fisher/Joeckel lasts till Detroit at #5, then the trade will likely be with Cleveland at #6 for Johnson, Oakland would only be the target if teams see Joeckel and Fisher go 1/2 in the draft and fear Detroit will take Johnson.

Wouldn't mind a trade down to 12, probably would go any farther down though unless we get a lot of picks in return. We can find a LG later in the draft, we have much bigger holes to fill too. Give me a DT like Richardson or one of the pass rushers that fall to us.

I think the best option is a domino trade down. First trade down with Arizona to get them their LT. Then with 1 LT left on te board, trade down with Miami to grab more picks.

I would even be okay with another trade or two. 20-45 is the best value here. Raiders need a ton of picks to fill their holes.

If they are that far down on the board I wouldn't mind them calling the 49ers and figuring out how to move to the end of the first round and acquire some of the 49ers 15 draft picks. With a 1st, two 2nd's and three 3rd's they have to be looking to deal, their roster won't take 15 rookies.

We need more picks more than we need trade value. If the chart says we should get a 2, take a 3. Just get more picks.

I thought the same thing. Once you get to #12 or thereabouts, get the 49ers on the horn and shop the opportunity to draft Tavon Austin for a few selections.

To an extent. Some of the trade downs I have seen are basically the Raiders getting bent over with a splintery broom handle. No thank you to that.

Huh? When did we every trade down? The old man would trade up, not down.

Just heard a rumor that the Raiders will address DT and DE, but they believe that DT is deep throughout the draft and that DE is not nearly as deep, thus they will target DE before DT. Makes perfect sense. Also, they WILL try to draft down. RB is on the radar also.

I TOTALLY agree with this. We should match whatever trade proposal a team under us has and to hell with the chart.

John Clayton reported yesterday that we will have around $69 Million in cap space in 2014. Reggie McKenzie is doing a tremendous job cleaning up Al's mess while still adding some young talent. Now I just hope he doesn't make the mistake of taking Floyd/Ansah at 3.

I want to trade down, but if not, I love Ansah at #3 along with Lotulelei. DE is the #1 need and Ansah simply has special talent.

I just don't feel comfortable drafting a guy who has 4.5 career sacks at 3, even as special of a athlete he is. If we want an athletic pass rusher go with Dion Jordan, who's already more versatile and experienced football player.

Agree completely. Lotulelei had more sacks in less games from the DT position. Ansah seems like the same type of guy we have drafted over and over that got us into this hole...an athlete, not a great football players. We can't afford a major boom or bust player at #3.

Nah, he is a football player. Just late to the game, that's all. Antonio Gates was a football player too.

A Great Blue North report said that the Raiders worked out Ansah to exhaustion and then took him out to dinner after BYU's Pro day. Interesting.....

If we trade down into the top 10 I'd be fine with it, this is just screams a Al Davis type pick to me. We need football players, sure Ansah has he potential to be a very good pass rusher but I'd just feel a lot more comfortable taking a Lotulelei or Jordan.

At this point I agree. I have to say trade down is option one through three for me though.

Abaddon is starting to convert me to a believer in the OTs early too. I don't think I would be too hurt if the Raiders go Oline. Have to admit RT can present one of the biggest turnarounds for this team.
