I feel like you're trying too hard to be different, but maybe that's just me. This board has a bizarre infatuation with Wilson for one.

What's so "different" about my rankings?

I assume he's talking about Wilson being your #1 QB. Lacy being your #5 RB. Floyd being your #4 DT. Poyer being your #2 CB. And Cyprien being your #1 S. Since those aren't the "norm" around here.

I don't completely agree with these rankings, but they aren't that far out there for me to throw a fit about anything. Thanks for sharing.

Wilson is a player I have been super high on ever since last season, and I think he is easily the best quarterback in this draft class.

Lacy was towards the top of my rankings to start the off-season, but his inability to recover from the hamstring issue and his battle with injuries while at Alabama have me concerned with him.

Floyd has appeal as a rushing, 3 technique but the three tackles I have in front of him are more complete and dynamic.

Poyer had an impressive senior season and is scheme diverse. He is undoubtedly one of the more underrated prospects in this draft.

Cyprien overtook Vaccaro for the #1 after his super week at the Senior Bowl. He backed up his tape at FIU and showed he can play with the top talent.

I agree, in trying to be different, you end up with top 5's that just plain stunk if your predicting the draft, if you want to say that these are the guys who I think will be successful after they start playing but won't be drafted anywhere near where I have them, and you are willing to come back to it in 3-5 years to see if I'm right, fine. Do it and you'll get some credit, but right now, your just out in left field.

Wilson is my #2 QB. I don't care how people rank the RB's in this class, there would be a lot of different top 5's if you polled everyone around here. I don't understand how Floyd jumped up as high as he did in everyone's mocks. When people first started doing mocks, he was usually in the latter part of round 1, which makes more sense to me. Poyer is too high for my likings, but I do agree that he is underrated. Cyprien has always been my #2 S behind Vaccaro. Like I said, I don't see a problem with your rankings. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on certain players, though.

I'm not trying to predict the order in which these guys will go. I am posting my own personal rankings and who I feel are the top 5 players at each position.

I hope you have the guts to come back and post this list in 3-5 years and get the credit you deserve or the ridicule that follows.
I respect people who stick to their guns and say what they believe but I suggest you clarify it in the fture because people on this board tend to judge it against a real draft.

Patton possesses a terrific blend of hands, route running and body control. He was productive at Louisiana Tech, and although he didn't go up against high levels of competition consistently, he still performed very well against the better teams. He's also a better athlete than he was given credit for at the beginning of the process.

lol, someone has something different from the norm and they're 'trying to hard to be different'.

that's ridiculous.

if you just look at mel kipers rankings and disagree with anything different, you shouldnt be posting about the draft.

I feel like people on this board try too hard to be the same. People take the consensus rankings, move this player up a notch and that player down a notch, then call it their own.

I don't know why some of you are ripping on him on "trying to be different". A lot of his players that are ranked a little higher than the norm are the same players he has been touting all along the draft process.

I don't agree with a lot of them. For instance, I think Scott being the #4 QB is nonsense. He is very athletic but has done nothing to show he should be drafted highly by a team as a possible franchise QB. I don't like Ball as the #3 RB, I don't see him as a difference maker in the NFL. I love Tyler Wilson as well, and I don't think he is that far off from the top QB. DeAndre Hopkins is still my #1 WR.

I can understand this argument against Scott not being in the Top 5, but then I'd come back with, what has Glennon, Bray and/or Nassib done to not deserve that same argument? Nassib worries me too because of his delivery and the drop with the ball as he winds up to throw.

I place Scott there for the upside because I feel I already have a good idea of what those other quarterbacks can do, or can't do.

It is hard to put together a general board for the QB's this year - I think it will depend on what you like. If you like "fast eyes" then Glennon will be #1 like Greg Cosell's board. If you want a big arm and mobility - then you'll like Smith and EJ Manuel like Mayock.

Matt Scott can run the zone-read and some teams will like that. For me the zone-read will get shut down this year though - defensive co-ordinators will have spent the off-season working out how to stop it (set the edge and penetration inside to mess up the mesh point, perhaps with blitzes) - so that negates that part of his value. OK as a passer - certainly this class drops off a cliff about 10 or 11 deep - so I can see him being an early day three pick. Been compared to Russell Wilson - but not as experienced or refined as a passer for me. Means the upside is there and how much is there with Barkley for example?

If you're placing Scott there for upside, Bray is still better. Best arm in the draft and I don't think it's close, huge bust potential but arguably the most potential of any qb in the draft. Just saying, and I'm not a fan of ranking players high purely on potential either.
