Jesse Williams has all the tools, but hasn't really converted them into production. He had just 1 sack and 2.5 TFL his senior season.

There are definitely some guys available that I expected to be picked already.

WRs Patton and Rogers both have starter's upside.

Pretty much every top OC is still available, and I thought this was actually a good OC draft.

Other OLs worth drafting are still there. Wasn't Aboushi projected as a 2nd rounder?

Several RBs that could be good rotational guys. Franklin, Ellington, Gillislee,Taylor and of course this is a decent spot to take a flyer on Lattimore.

And there are even more defensive players still available.

Well C is a position we can definitely upgrade, but I must admit I don't know a lot about Khaled Holmes, thoughts?

I'm reading that he might have went higher if it wasn't for senior season injury.

Hopefully, he is a healthy and better then what we have.

I've read a couple of pieces that mention he isn't too stout and plays too upright which isn't the most encouraging, but hopefully we can develop him, wonder what this means for Satele and Shipley.

One will most likely be released I'm guessing, the other starts with Holmes as a backup for the time being.

Looks like we traded up to grab Montori Hughes. So anyone know anything about him? Is he a pure NT or could he play at DE in our 3-4?

Interesting.

Colts trade up to get big DT Montari Hughes. Scott had him in the 2nd round range.

NT?

How many do we have already? 6?

Chapman, McKinney, Tevesau, Franklin and this guy. He looks light on his feet, perhaps they have him as a 5-tech.

John Boyett was highly productive before his senior season. Only played 1 game last year.

If he stays healthy, he could provide decent depth and ST play.

I like the Williams pick. I always prefer short RBs with quickness. I think he can be a good rotational guy.

Cunningham sounds like another Eldridge, great blocker with very little pass-catching ability.

So Pagano said Hughes is here to be a NT. I'm guessing that we're going to keep 3 NTs. I assume Chapman & Hughes are going to make it unless there's a catastrophe, since they're likely good enough to make the roster & cheap. I could see Tevaseu & one of Franklin/McKinney not making the final roster. Anyone know if Teveseu is available for practice squad?

Colts also signed UDFA Lanear Sampson, WR, Baylor.

Undrafted Rookie Free-Agents signed at the moment:

Lanear Sampson, WR - Baylor
Daxton Swanson, CB - Sam Houston State
Dan Moore, FB - Montana
Brandon McManus, K - Temple
C.O. Prime, ILB - Wagner
Michael Josifovski, K - Marian - Invited to Rookie Mini-Camp
Emmett Cleary, OT - Boston College
Nigel Malone, CB - Kansas State
Denodus O'Bryant, RB - Lindenwood
Sheldon Price, CB - UCLA
Jamal-Rashad Patterson, WR - Stanford
Nick Driskell, S - Mount Union
Rodrick Rumble, WR - Idaho St

Something to note is well only have 7 spots on the 90(max) man roster, so some of these guys won't make it past the Colts Rookie camp on May 9.

Who are the seven you would like to see?

It may be more than seven as the Colts could cut some of the current players as well.

The seven I would like to see make on the 90 man roster:

Denodus O'Bryant, RB - Lindenwood: He flashes big-league ability on tape, with the compact size at 5’9"/205lbs and breakaway speed to run away from defenders. Denodus has an uncanny ability to cut back against the grain and find an open hole, and he’s also a fine pass-receiving target out of the backfield. He is simply a jack-of-all-trades, and I love him. As a senior Denodus rushed for over 1,200 yards and 11 touchdowns, and averaged 6 yards per carry.

Jamal-Rashad Patterson, WR - Stanford 6'3"/208lbs, 40-time: 4.50. Was ranked the top WR coming out of high school, but never lived up to it. Showed flashes of greatness when was on the field. Had an amazing catch in the 2013 Rose Bowl.

Lanear Sampson, WR - Baylor Sampson has very good size at 5'11" and thickness 205lbs for the position. Ran a 4.40 40-time. He demonstrates the ability to pluck the ball away from his body, as well as maintain possession of the ball while absorbing big hits. He blocks with strong base and leverage, and when he's aggressive with his hands he is able to lock on with a strong inside fit and sustain blocks to the whistle. Knocks on him is that he lacks the quickness and acceleration to create separation naturally or get vertical. But his ability to block fits well with Pep Hamilton's offence.

Emmett Cleary, OT - Boston College 6'7"/316lbs

STRENGTHS Possesses NFL size and length on the edge. Solid agility, can cut off edge rushers with fair bend and those feet and long arms, but still cut off the inside lane. Has a strong punch that can stop opponents’ momentum. Jumps out of his stance quickly to cut off backside pursuers in the run game. Flashes aggressive blocking, finishing run blocks with multiple punches even if the play is well away, or taking off-balance linemen to the ground with his upper-body strength.
WEAKNESSES Must gain additional strength in his lower body in an NFL weight program, usually widens to anchor but can get put on his heels by better power rushes if losing the hand battles. Not the quickest of feet. Height gives him some stiffness running in the open field, also makes him vulnerable to slipping off blocks or overextending after initial contact.

Nigel Malone, CB - Kansas State 5'10"/185lbs Looks like an NFL zone corner because of his competitiveness and ability to close on throws to the outside and go up for jump balls. Not contact-shy in coverage or the run game, as is willing to cut down ball-carriers or grab and clutch to get the job done. Used regularly on blitzes because of his ability to change directions and tenacious attitude. His ability to anticipate and react to throws, as well as his hands for the interception, make him a turnover machine. I don't know if he can play man cover or not but could compete as a nickel corner.

Sheldon Price, CB - UCLA 6'2"/180lbs Has prototypical height for an outside corner. Matches up well with tall receivers with his length, can use those long arms to press off the line, maintain contact down the sideline, and knock away passes in front of his man without interfering. An athletic cornerback whose height and length will be coveted by NFL defensive coordinators, Price elevated his game as a senior, proving that he could be a playmaker after missing five games the past two seasons with right knee issues. I am surprised to see him fall out of the draft since most scouts graded him as 3rd to 5th round prospect.

And I am torn on Nick Driskell, S - Mount Union and Rodrick Rumble, WR - Idaho St for that final spot but leaning more toward Driskell.

Jerome Cunningham, TE - Southern Connecticut St

I don't think all of these are signings.

I think some are just being invited to camp.

I don't like the Werner pick. He looks like a 43 end to me, not a 34 rush linebacker. The 2 lineman picks are excellent and will make Luck very happy, methinks, while Montori Hughes, if he puts it together, will be a steal. Super athleticism and size.

I thought the same of Werner at first but the more I watch him the more I love the pick. He can drop back in coverage very well, is very instinctive, and has a knack of swatting the pass down. I feel he will excel in our attacking 3-4 defense. Not to mention with the addition of some of the big uglies we added to that D-line he should be disruptive in the backfield.

Allen Chapman, CB, Kansas State (unconfirmed)

It has taken some time but I am liking these picks. I would've picked different players a few times, but they didn't ask me for advice.

Round 1 I would've picked Rhodes, but I honestly thought Werner would've been picked by a 4-3 team long before we picked so I did not consider him. When I would watch film for Carradine, Werner would constantly grab my attention. I think he is going to be very good for this defense. I think he is more well-rounded than many expect.

Round 3, I probably would've gone with Stedman Bailey, but I like what I've read and watched about Thornton. I like that the guy that recruited him to Illinois is now going to be his OL coach in the pros. I like his demeanor. If he ends up starting and McGlynn gets cut as a result, this will become my favorite pick.

I will say, it is at least interesting to think about what could have been, had we taken Rhodes and then Okafor in the third. But I am high on Okafor.

Round 4 there are a number of prospects I would've taken over Holmes. I don't like this pick but am willing to believe those that say he only sucked last year because he was hurt. But man did he suck last year.

Round 5 was a surprise, but if Hughes is anything like Ngata, at all, even spending next year's 4th will be worth it.

I won't criticize the 6th and 7th rounders. I will say I'm disappointed we didn't take a shot on Da'Rick Rogers at some point.
