Mathews has an absolute cannon and his natural accuracy is through the roof. Certainly has to refine some things (doesn't drop back straight, doesn't make his first few steps in his drop big enough and isn't quick to set-up, tends to stand and throw with a narrow base), but the tools are all there. I watched him make multiple throws where I was just wowed by the combination of arm strength and accuracy. Dropping passes in the bucket with pressure in his face and/or placing it in spots where only his receiver could have a chance and you think would only be possible in a video game.
Jeff Mathews is for real. I was at the Cornell Pro Day and had NFL scouts coming up to me asking me which one in the room was Mathews (the entire Big Red team showed up). They can't talk to him right now, but they wanted to size him up and get a look at him. The NFL is obviously very intrigued by him.
Mathews is the guy I want to get more footage on. I was intrigued from what I've seen, but I need to see more to get a better idea of what he's got.
