i dont think the arthur brown love got out of hand at all - dude is an athletic as **** baller - god forbid we have a linebacker that can actually cover someone in this league where 5000 passing yards isnt even noteworthy anymore

im not even sure larry foote could cover james farrior if he lined up on the other side of the ball

Timmons does just fine in coverage. I like Brown, but i dont think hes the type of player to make the steelers rue the day they passed on him.

Hes like sean weatherspoon, just a bit smaller.

Early 2014 mock draft. I expect we'll get a third for Wallace, 5th for Lewis, and a 7th for Mendenhall.

1) CJ Mosley LB Alabama

Really upset that he didn't come out this year, but I think we land him in the '14 draft. He plays both the run and pass very well and is a good blitzer. We need a LB who can make all the calls and Mosley is that guy. He and Timmons together would be a very solid pair.

2) Xavier Grimble TE USC*

Lane Kiffin doesn't involve his two great TEs much, but Grimble is a two way TE who will stretch the seems and be the athletic pass catcher that we need at the TE position. I expect Heath's days to be numbered and I'm not too excited about David Paulson becoming a full time tight end unless he improves his run blocking a lot.

3) Devin Street WR Pittsburgh

He is a big bodied WR who is plenty fast. He was rumored to be coming out this year, but decided against it. His knock is that he doesn't play too physical and sometimes has the dropsies, but this is a great value knowing that three WRs could be gone after the season.

4) Nickoe Whitley FS Mississippi State

I know Robert Golden is more than likely the heir apparent to Ryan Clark, but this is Ryan Clark part 2. Whitley will come up and deck your ass in a second. He plays very similar to Swearinger. I think he will last to this pick because I don't believe he runs all that fast and that might slip him, but best believes he's a hell of a ball player.

5a) James White RB Wisconsin

Played as a back up for three years and now has his time to carry the load. I don't think he has the size to be an every down back, but his speed will be an asset to the RB corps. He and Bell could form a nice thunder and lightning duo in the backfield.

5b) Kevin Graf OT USC

I don't know much about him other than he was the starting RT for the team the past two years. We need tackle depth badly.

6) Ryne Giddins OLB USF

His play fell off from his Sophomore to JR year, but the guy is talented. You can never have enough pass rushing depth and even with 5 already on the roster, I'd look for reinforcements because you don't know with Chris Carter and Jason Worilds.

7a) Chris Boswell K Rice

Sushi will not repeat what he did last year. Boswell has a big leg looking from his stats and could suit well at Heinz Field due to that.

7b) Will Clarke DE West Virginia

Huge frame and potential. Basically DE depth and someone for Coach Mitchell to groom.

you think we only get a 5 for lewis?

It's just a prediction. I honestly wouldn't be surprised to see Mendenhall get a 6th if he blows it up next year.

we are sitting prerrt for comp picks next year thats for sure

wallace will certainly get us a 3

regardless of lewis's performance he will get us a high pick b/c of his contract and the fact we brought in no one to replace him, though performance does have a small bit to do with it..

its not crazy to think we get two 3rd's seeing as lewis's contract was the highest for a CB switching teams at 5yr/35 mil ~ 10.5 guar

whats cool also is that baltimore likely wont get **** for losing kruger as they repalced him with elvis

They also lost, Reed and that MLB. So they could get a 5th.

What do you guys know about Terence Garvin, UDFA we just signed outta WV?
they're calling him a S/LB prospect...last one I remember like that was Urlacher!!!
His highlights look good but he was never on my radar. Really hoping he's not just another Scott Shields!

Big, slow back who isn't very useful on passing downs and has some fumbling issues, so not very valuable. That being said, I do think the Patriots got him for very cheap.

nice little read on justin brown from bob stoops... obviously a biased angle but i think we may have gotten ourselves another late round wr steal boys

Seeing Brown drafted was also a big charge for Stoops and the OU program. Brown transferred to OU from Penn State hoping to increase his chances of playing in the NFL.

After a senior season where Brown caught 73 passes for 879 yards and 5 touchdowns, NFL teams took notice, while Stoops and Oklahoma made good on their sales pitch which landed the Penn State transfer in Norman.

"I believe he fulfilled an opportunity to catch a bunch of balls and be productive and have a great experience," said Stoops. " I told him when he left, 'now you have two homes.' He was there a long time and those people will always be his buddies. Here, we'll do whatever we can for him because he's a great kid. I believe he realizes that.

"You know what was also undervalued was he was a guy that was just here a year and was a leader with how he conducted himself, how he worked, his attitude about everything, his business-like tough attitude about everything. He made an impact on the offensive guys in particular and the receiver group. He was awesome. I absolutely love the kid. I believe he'll make it."
