Sorry broth. I've had it half way done for about a week. I'll just post those for now. Since I got killed in mafia, I'll have time to do the last 2. I wish I had the original help that I had when this grading first started. I appreciate what you did.

Green Bay Packers

Positions of need: S, RB, DL, OL, LB

Needs Analysis: As long as Green Bay has Aaron Rodgers, a certain amount of success is guaranteed for the Packers, but the ancillary parts are lacking in several areas. The running game was a major sticking point last season, especially after Cedric Benson went down in Week 5. The defensive line boasts a lot of solid draft picks, but no real production. The clearly overrated B.J. Raji has been on the field for too many snaps during portions of his young career. He's decent, but he needs help and just isn't the force that, say, a Kyle Williams is. Regarding the linebacker position, the club is relying on the unproven Nick Perry at this point. It's possible the Packers might target a position besides OLB, but there's no question Clay Matthews could use some help.

Real Draft:
Round 1, Datone Jones DE
Round 2, Eddie Lacy RB
Round 4, David Bakhtiari OT
Round 4, J.C. Tretter OT
Round 4, Johnathan Franklin RB
Round 5, Micah Hyde CB
Round 5, Josh Boyd DE
Round 6, Nate Palmer LB
Round 7, Charles Johnson WR
Round 7, Kevin Dorsey WR
Round 7, Sam Barrington LB

Mock Draft:
Signings: None

26 (26). DeAndre Hopkins, WR, Clemson
25 (55). Johnathan Franklin, RB, UCLA
26 (88). Phillip Thomas, Safety, Fresno State
25 (122). Ryan Jensen, T/G/C, Colorado State-Pueblo
26 (159). Nicholas Williams, DT, Samford
34 (167). Kyle Juszczyk, FB, Harvard
25 (193). Rashaan Melvin, CB, Northern Illinois
26 (232). Eric Martin, OLB, Nebraska

UDFA:

QB Ryan Griffin
WR Eric Rogers

One thing that struck me as interesting off the bat was the way WR was addressed between reality and this mock. I'm a big fan of DeAndre Hopkins so I liked what was done in this mock. It was just interesting to notice how in real life Green Bay took Datone Jones one pick before Hopkins was taken. What it told me was that DT must have been a high priority for the Packers. In the mock, the only DT acquired was Samford's Nicholas Williams. So I'm not sure that need was entirely satisfied. I always give brownie points when a player taken in the mock was taken in real life, so kudos for landing Jonathan Franklin. Even further kudos to the Packers for landing him in Round 4 AND landing Eddie Lacy in Round 2. Talk about fixing a sore spot. Damn. But the real life Packers totally ignored Safety and that was arguably one of their biggest needs. In the mock, Phillip Thomas was selected in Round 3 and to me, that was a slam dunk pick. He seems to fit the mold of a ball hawking Packers S who also isn't afraid to fill it up in the box. Juszczyk's stock was raising as the draft approached and I liked that selection. Melvin and Martin are relatively unknowns to me so I can't give an honest opinion there. Overall, this team looks poised to compete for another Super Bowl once again.

Mock Grade: A
Season Prediction: 12-4

--------------------------------------------------------

Chicago Bears

Positions of need: LB, OL, DL, CB

Needs Analysis: The Bears have all sorts of needs and not enough picks. With just five selections (and no third-rounder), general manager Phil Emery isn't going to get everything done. Not to worry, though, as the Bears did exactly what they needed to do in free agency, getting a left tackle (Jermon Bushrod) and a tight end (Martellus Bennett), while franchising the guy they had to keep (Henry Melton). Given the Brian Urlacher situation, the Bears' need for someone in the middle is obvious, unless you're in love with D.J. Williams. This club really is counting on both Williams and former Carolina Panther James Anderson to bring it in the 4-3. Good luck.

Real Draft:
Round 1, Kyle Long OG
Round 2, Jon Bostic ILB
Round 4, Khaseem Greene OLB
Round 5, Jordan Mills OT
Round 6, Cornelius Washington OLB
Round 7, Marquess Wilson WR

Mock Draft:
Signings: None

Draft Picks:
1.20 D.J. Fluker OT
3.91 Jon Bostic ILB
4.07 Vance McDonald TE
4.17 Akeem Spence DT
5.153 Ace Sanders WR
6.188 Johnny Adams CB

UDFAs: None

Much bigger fan of the DJ Fluker selection than the real life selection of Kyle Long. But talk about nailing a pick. Selecting Jon Bostic in Round 2 was spot on. Big brownie points! I don't love McDonald, but I realize he was among the higher rated TEs in this draft class. Spence is a guy that I could see flourishing in Chicago. LOVED the Ace Sanders selection! Johnny Adams is an ok pick. They had a need at CB and they took a flier here. Looking at the needs they had going into the draft and the value they got out of it, I have to respect the way this mock went for the Bears. No moves in FA or UDFA are a little disappointing for the fans. Also, don't think this offseason suddenly puts them into Super Bowl contention, but they should have another respectable season.

Mock Grade: A-
Season Prediction: 9-7

We got ******* in the bum Broth. ****** in the bum. I fully expected a **** rating though considering the Vikings had in actuality the best draft in the league.

Detroit Lions

Positions of need: DL, OL, CB, WR

Needs Analysis: Jeff Backus' unexpected retirement leaves a void at left tackle. Let's just say right tackle Gosder Cherilus joining the Indianapolis Colts didn't exactly make things warm and fuzzy for Matthew Stafford. Every QB needs his wubby, but now Stafford is without both of them. That said, the guess here is that general manager Martin Mayhew looks to get a player on the edge. Kyle Vanden Bosch is gone. Cliff Avril is in Seattle. Meanwhile, the Lions are preparing to roll into 2013 with Jason Jones and Ronnell Lewis at defensive end. Ndamukong Suh is certainly a good player, but at this point, he's not the unmitigated force he's sometimes purported to be. The Lions also have holes to fill in the secondary and at wide receiver.

Real Draft:
Round 1, Ziggy Ansah DE
Round 2, Darius Slay CB
Round 3, Larry Warford OG
Round 4, Devin Taylor DE
Round 5, Sam Martin P
Round 6, Corey Fuller WR
Round 6, Theo Riddick RB
Round 7, Michael Williams TE
Round 7, Brandon Hepburn ILB

Mock Draft:
Signings:
Quentin Jammer CB
Josh Cribbs WR/KR/PR

Draft Picks:
Luke Joeckel OT
Darius Slay CB
Sam Montgomery DE
Khaled Holmes C
Ty Powell DE/OLB
Oday Aboushi OG
Brett Maher K

UDFAs:
None

Comparing the two drafts here, I have to side with the job broth did. For one, I'm not a huge Ziggy Ansah fan. I think there is a huge bust factor there and I think in reality, there is a strong chance that Sam Montgomery could end up being the better player. Ansah has upside, but Montgomery is a better football player right now and it's not really that close, imo. Sealing the deal though is landing Joeckel. Joeckel who ultimately went #2 overall in real life was swooped up by the Lions here as they get a steal. Having an anchor like that would mean so much to this team who is always so close, but yet so far year after year. What I really have to give brownie points for is broth's selection of Darius Slay. He got a player that was directly on the Lions radar and got him at the right spot. Bravo. No broth ups here! Really liked the FA action in picking up Josh Cribbs and Quentin Jammer. I can see Cribbs really having a positive impact on that team. Jammer might be a step slow these days, but he won't be asked to start (at least I hope not). The rest of the draft went ok. Not a fan of Holmes or Aboushi, but the Lions seem to have a way of making decent careers out of O-lineman that wouldn't have a spot on any other team. Holmes and Aboushi could be exactly that. Powell and Maher will have a chance to battle it out and should stick. Overall a very fine job in the mock draft and this seems to have positioned the Lions to make a step forward in 2013-14.

Mock Grade: A-
Season Prediction: 10-6

---------------------------------------------------

Minnesota Vikings

Positions of need: WR, LB, CB

Needs Analysis: First off, Minnesota is carrying a second first-round choice, thanks to the Percy Harvin deal. Second, the club has two picks in both a middle round (the fourth) and a later round (the seventh). Those extra picks might come in handy when it comes to either trading up to get someone the scouting department covets or finding an incentive for another team that wants to make a move. Either way, the Vikes are in good shape. However, the Vikings probably will sit back and pick the best player available at wideout, linebacker, corner, defensive tackle, etc. Or, again, they could move up, if the situation warrants.

Real Draft:
Round 1, Sharrif Floyd DT
Round 1, Xavier Rhodes CB
Round 1, Cordarrelle Patterson WR
Round 4, Gerald Hodges OLB
Round 5, Jeff Locke P
Round 6, Jeff Baca OG
Round 7, Michael Mauti ILB
Round 7, Travis Bond OG
Round 7, Everett Dawkins DT

Mock Draft:
Signings: Brian Urlacher, Antoine Winfield

Draft Picks:
1(23) - Alec Ogletree ILB
1(25) - Keenan Allen WR
2(52) - Sylvester Williams DT
3(83) - Jordan Poyer CB
4(102) - Ryan Nassib QB
4(120) - Shawn Williams SS
5(155) - Eric Herman OG
6(189) - Reggie Dunn WR/RS
7(213) - Cooper Taylor OLB
7(214) - Charles Johnson WR
7(229) - Keith Pugh OLB

UDFAs: None

My predraft grade would've been much higher, but now with hindsight this draft looks like it has some room for criticism. The real life draft by the Vikings was out of this world. They really knocked it out of the park! A+++++!!!!! But I won't hold that against the job done here too much. Let's see how the needs were addressed. First off, the needed to fill the void left by Percy Harvin. I love Keenan Allen and I think the Chargers got a steal in him in Round 3, but the fact that they got him so late has to hurt the grade here since the Vikings took him in Round 1. Ouch. Ogletree is a guy that I have real worries about. Not with the on field stuff, but with the off field stuff. He's done some knucklehead stuff during the predraft process. He has some maturing to do, but the FA pick up of Brian Urlacher should help some. The Vikings would have to call Urlacher out of retirement if they wanted to make that one a reality though. The other FA signing... Antoine Winfield was a great move. Let's him finish his decorated career bleeding purple which I think is the right thing to do. I'm a big fan of Winfield, so plus move there! Continuing with the draft, Sly was a nice value add in Round 2 and I like the pick ups of Ryan Nassib and Shawn Williams. The rest of the draft class will have to battle it out in training camp to see who makes the team, but at least they have the potential to. Herman and Taylor stick out to me as guys who should make the final roster. Overall the moves in this mock are fine but it lacks the wow factor that the Vikings pulled off in real life. I think even after that wonderful draft the Vikings had in real life, the team will still find it challenging to match last season's 10-6 record because the division got better as a whole. So a less than stellar draft could negatively impact them.

Mock Grade: B
Season Prediction: 8-8
