Eli isn't close to 1st Ballot yet. He is just too inconsistent in the regular season. Too many years with 8-8 & 9-7. He is a playoff clutch player, but getting to the playoffs is still a question with him. With 1st ballot guys like Peyton and Brady, you just wonder if they get home field throughout or no.

As far as HOF voting is concerned Quarterbacks are the opposite of WRs. They almost never have to wait. Bob Griese was the last HOF QB who didn't get in on the first ballot. I would also expect the Senior Committee to let Ken Anderson in within the next few years, but that's not a sure thing. Otherwise, the last eight HOF QBs were first ballot selections and Favre will make it the last nine.

I think a lot of people are waiting to see if Kurt Warner gets in on the first ballot. If he does, then that somewhat lowers the bar. I'm guessing he will.

I don't necessarily think Eli should be a first ballot guy (based on his performance to date), but his two Super Bowls and his last name make him a pretty safe bet.

Yeah I'm not arguing whether he should be or not, but Eli will be a first ballot hall of famer, especially if he wins another SB in the next 5+ years before he retires.

Eli's Houdini-to-Tyree pass immediately became one of the iconic plays of NFL history, so he also has that going in his favor. That wasn't just a great play, it was something that's going to be on every NFL All-Time Great Highlights video from now until the end of football.

When you add everything up, I'd be awfully shocked if Eli isn't a first ballot guy.

Everything about that playoff run was just magical. And to cap it off with that drive, that had that play, against the "greatest team of all time" in one of the biggest upsets in all of sports? You just can't tell the story of the NFL without Eli manning getting a big chapter, especially with him having gone back to the SB to deny Beli and Brady again. And he's still got many years to pad his resume.

You hit the nail on the head... with how it works

Was Eli ever the best at his position at any time during his Career ? NO... but he has the stuff voters want and Playing in NY getting a ton of attention only helps.

In our system, it's almost impossible to be the best at the position. Not when you have systems and Qbs that are leading the league in pass attempts and coaches who don't mind running up scores. For the longest time we had the best running game in the NFL.

That's when Gilbride and Coughlin would rather run the ball with earth, wind and fire. That was the time where we can plug any RB in and he would be productive from Jacobs, Bradshaw, Ware, and Ward.

Eli in our system will never, ever, ever, lead the league. Not here, not with our play calling especially in the red zone. There was a reason why Tynes had a career year. Stupid play calling where we tried running the ball and would fail. I hated it but whatever, my point is in our system you're not leading the league in anything.

So then what? Just win, win the SB, and be a factor for your team. At the end of the day he will be top 10 in every stat if not top 5. Add that to his current resume, and he will be fine.

for the longest time the giants had the best running game in the NFL????? lol

I get that the giants run a complex offense, but eli still hasnt been and probably never will be the best at his position, which you can be without dazzling stats. He has his moments of greatness but he also has shown wild inconsistencies, and thats what makes him not the best, but his accomplishments have made him a near lock for 1st ballot HOFer, thats not a bad thing

In today's NFL, the guy who puts up the best stats will get the accolades at the QB position, especially for fans who don't see all the QBs. At the end of the day they will look at the yards and TD leaders. That's very hard to beat. I am not worry about it either way. I am just stating what I know about our system which I been breaking down since 2004.

Eli in our system, on his best year, where he can play out of his mind, would never, ever, ever beat the guys in other systems. I am talking ideal circumstances where his play could be out his mind. I would always put money on either two guys, Brees who ranks up there in passing attempts to put up better stats, and a guy I respect a lot in AR.

It's fine, either way I could careless, I am used it this. I just want to win for us and get us another SB win before he retires. If not, he will be ranked top 10 if not top 5 in various stats.

bs. If eli went out there, won 15 games, had clutch moments in the 4th quarter and OT it would not matter what kind of stats he put up the entire world would be kissing his ass. hed here "Eli vs Peyton?" or "Is Eli better than Tom Brady? I mean he is 2-0 against him in SBs"

It would be jammed down our throats. 25 TDs or 40 TDs, 3500 Yards or 5000 yards....doesnt matter
