Really, really enjoyed this episode. Satisfying finale that opened a ton of doors for the future. It has me really excited about next season which will be very different. The Hersheys "pitch" was the best presentation in the last two seasons. Just a great scene. I don't know if this season was 'weaker' than most, I just think it was kind of deliberately frustrating and less satisfying just because of where the characters (Don specifically) were at. I could see how having a stubborn protagonist who struggles to not fall into the same traps can be somewhat less satisfying for the viewer, in the big picture it makes for a stronger, more honest story.
- Anyone else notice that the song playing in the bar where Don was sitting alone was the same song playing in the opening scene of the series
. Thought that was a pretty cool callback.
- Bob Benson keeps getting better and better.
- Did Bob have Pete's mom wacked? (fenikz's question which I just stole)
- Poor Don. Finally tried to do right and get his life back together and everything falls apart. Guess that's just the Mad Men way.
It's gonna be a tough 9 month wait. Episodes like this make me realize how much I'm gonna miss this show in the end but I'm so stoked about this last season. It's really a wildcard season where just about anything could happen.
