Brooks will probably get out of this with minimal to no-harm done, but if the set of events reported truly happened the way they were reported, I personally wouldn't mind if Brooks was sent packing. I really hate thugs.

49ers signed Eric Reid. All draft choices are locked up.

Very good. Hopefully, he can win the starting FS spot.

Colin Kaepernick was recently spotted wearing a Miami Dolphins hat. Some people are up in arms. What say you?

Quote:
Colin Kaepernick will not let 49ers fans tell him what to wear.

Kaepernick posted the above photo to his Instagram as a response to fans who were dismayed after the young quarterback was photographed wearing a Miami Dolphins hat at a 4th of July party.

Somewhere out there Russell Wilson is saying "Go Hawks!" after another press conference speech.

Just read that on PFT. Honestly, I dont care what hat he wears as long as he's training and preparing for the season like he should. Once the season starts, as long as he plays good like he did in the ten games he started last year, I'll be happy.

I'm not in love with the idea as it's in the same league but I'm not going to freak out about it. He also needs to understand that the public eye is on him and he needs to be conscious of his decisions at all times, no matter how small, as even a piece of a wardrobe will be scrutinized. He doesn't have to wear a SF Giants hat because he plays for the Niners, but I'd prefer he didn't wear another NFL team hat while he's under contract with the Niners. Seems like a very minute potential conflict of interest. I don't doubt his love for the Niners or his passion for the team so I even question why he'd need to or want to wear a Dolphins hat. If anything, we'd expect a Packers hat if it wa another NFL team. Like the dude needs to wear a local hat to 'fit in' or get attention in Miami.

Not a big deal to me as he puts in a ton of effort/work to help the 49ers on and off the field. That being said, he probably shouldn't have worn it, and it shouldn't be as big a story as it currently has become the most commented article on a big site like PFT in less than a day.

It's been done before by elite athletes. Must be more of a fashion thing. This will continue to resurface for awhile.

To be fair, the Thunder and the Supersonics are the same team. But the Bulls pic is a perfect correlation.

To be fair, the Supersonics don't exist. :) But he was drafted by them and played there for a year before they packed up to go to OKC. I get your point but man, do you get technical at times.

Just under 2 months until the opener against Green Bay!

That was nothing. More of a move to get the fan base thinking about needing him re-signed I guess.

Just read that we traded for Buccaneers CB Eric Wright. What's everyone's opinion on this?

I personally dont like it. First, its been reported that he was arrested July 12th for DUI and has been in trouble off the field before that. Second, considering Harbaugh has been bashing the Seahawks for having cheaters on their team, I dont see how having players who break the law is any better. And third, we have Rogers, Brown, Asomugha, Culliver, Cox, Brock and rookie Tucker already at CB. That's seven CB's on the roster and Wright makes it eight. I'm going to guess that Tucker will be a candidate for the Practice Squad but the rest are all competing for what im guessing will be five spots.

Dont know about anyone else but im hoping that he fails his physical next week in SF.

True but at least the trade makes more sense. And who knows, maybe the team will trade away the loser between Rogers/Wright/Asomugha for a conditional draft pick to a team that may need a CB by the time the season rolls around.

That means absolutely nothing. The 5-6 best CBs will make the team. Its really that simple. We're just creating competition. Wright can play the slot, he's versatile. Mangini coached him in Cleveland, where he played his best as a pro so I'm sure they asked him for a little background info. He played awful for the Bucs last year but he's a local kid, so a change of scenery might do him some good. And he has a meager 1.5 million salary this year so it costs us basically nothing to take a look at him for the year. We were looking at Wright in free agency in 2012 so its obvious Baalke has had a eye on him for awhile now.

We've been fortunate with injuries to our secondary, especially our CBs. Nothing wrong with stockpiling capable bodies for TC and pre-season....because you just never know.

I love the move, only because we needed another guy to play inside in multiple WR sets. And we got one for cheap, who's still relatively young and could thrive with this front seven, once he learns the scheme. Baalke strikes again with another low-risk, high reward move.

True. Cant really argue this. I just dont like the off the field problems that he has had. Aldon last year with being in the wrong place at the wrong time, Brooks this year and now trading for Wright. Money wise, it doesnt hurt whatsoever so at least its a good move in that regard and im guessing the draft pick is a seventh rounder since the Buccaneers were going to release him anyway if they couldnt trade him.

I heard Wright might have some trouble playing the slot. Or rather, he can play the slot, but passers have had a decent amount of success against him. I wonder if San Francisco is really worried about their cornerback play. We have the same crew from last year on the roster thus far, and they generally played well. Perhaps Carlos Rogers is on his way out because of cap reasons.
