Yup. Bc innocent ppl totally lock the bathroom and have their body guard prevent anyone from going inside, then destroy the tapes from the bar and have their own private cop/body guard bleach the bathroom afterwards.

Yup. Clean as a whistle.

Not only that, they cut a WR for a domestic violence dispute but when James Harrison was involved in a similar incident they did nothing. No fine/suspension. Honestly, all NFL teams give a longer rope to their talented a-holes. Some are just better with the PR that come with it.

And they traded Holmes bc they felt they had to do something to keep their image.

I remember that offseason vividly. They tell the NFL don't worry we'll suspend Ben you don't have to and planned on suspending him for 2 games. And Goodell was like UH NO. Nice try. We're giving him 4 games.

And then they put out false rumors that they were interested in Clausen to replace Ben bc of the rape scandal. Please. They had no intention of drafting Clausen. That was just a false rumor they put out there to appease their fanbase.

So they can say "Hey look guys, we are thinking about drafting Clausen and we got rid of Holmes! We're serious about character 4 realz!"

It was all just PR moves on their part.

Having that said, I take nothing away from Ben the football player. He's a stud.

I'm just not going to pretend that he's not a dirtbag.

Yup. Clean as a whistle.
If I remember correctly an official investigation was never launched. Just a bunch of he-said she-said, which doesn't prove anything. We don't know for certain precisely what happened. Just like in the Ray Lewis murder case.

Bc they didn't have any evidence to go by. The bar tape was destroyed and forensics couldn't find anything in the bathroom bc it was bleached. There was no evidence to prosecute with.

Which again, if you're innocent, why would you need to do that?

So does Brady immediately get cut if he was in Aaron Hernandez's place?

Hey I'm just stating the facts. We don't know what happened for certain, beyond he-said she-said mantra.

But you don't know what was on those tapes do you? Do you? He could have simply kept grabbing a girl's ass. A quarterback of the NFL probably wouldn't want even that to surface. That doesn't make him a rapist. The main point is that we don't know.

Ok, so then just destroy the tapes. WHY BLEACH THE BATHROOM?

Besides, the tape would not show the inside of the bathroom, it would only show how they got there, and how the security guard/cop prevented her friends from going inside.

So why destroy that tape? If you're innocent, and that didn't happen, what are you hiding?

Those were two different conversations though. My comment was running off of this general statement:

Simply playing devil's advocate off this logic here. If you don't want to answer the question fine.

To see if everyone actually believes that more talented/important players to a football franchise actually have a longer rope so to speak in any situation.

We've already had this conversation about 20 pages back in this thread and I still don't know what you're going for, but it's OK.

Idle speculations proves nothing in that scenario though. I'm not saying there wasn't a paper trail. I'm not saying the man is 100% innocent or didn't do anything in that bathroom, but at the same time I can't say he was 100% guilty of being a rapist because some tapes were destroyed and the place was bleached and cleaned by the janitor eight hours later. Not even sure how often that place does get cleaned. Is it every other night? Who told the janitor to do so? All we're left with is idle speculation and in this context, I can't say Ben Roethlisberger raped someone in a bathroom without a shadow of a doubt.

And there were conflicting reports with the other incident as well, including the victim's "friend" allegedly saying that she was trying to go out of her way to get herself pregnant. Again, more he-said, she-said.

I just explained the reason why I asked the question. Don't worry about it though.

Simply playing devil's advocate off this logic here. If you don't want to answer the question fine.

To see if everyone actually believes that more talented/important players to a football franchise actually have a longer rope so to speak in any situation.

There still is no point in asking the question because we don't know. Tom Brady hasn't killed anyone from what we know, so even if he for some reason decided to do it what makes you think anyone would be able to correctly answer that question? If he killed someone multiple times like Hernandez probably did, was denied bail, then left a trail of evidence long enough Stevie Wonder could find it, why do you think it would matter if the Pats cut him or not? He'd be locked up in jail the same place Hernandez is at.

Even as a hypothetical it's a silly question to ask. You didn't ask if Tom Brady would be given a longer leash if he got into off the field trouble, you asked if he would be cut if he was in Hernandez situation. Well considering Hernandez is in jail without bail and not leaving anytime soon, I'd say whether that player got cut or not was a moot point.

Well we ask questions to a lot of hypothetical situations here at SWDC, despite not knowing the answers.

Hernandez was cut from the Patriots before his hearing. Essentially when the cuffs were put on him he was gone. I asked regarding Brady because he is essentially the franchise, and before a conviction was determined, and an ongoing investigation was in place, would he be cut after he was essentially put in handcuffs like Hernandez (who I don't think had a conviction record prior to this)? Or would the organization let things play out a little further before getting rid of him obviously knowing he wouldn't be back.

Really, it could go for any player that is more important to the franchise in terms of success. Whether it was Brady, or Colin Kaepernick, Drew Brees, etc.

That being said, do you think NFL players that are more vital to a franchise are going to be given a longer leash in off the field incidents like another poster stated? Or is everyone essentially equal in terms of leeway and football politics?

I'm about as anti-Steelers as it gets. I live in the Pittsburgh area and have heard everything about Ben from strangers to very close friends. None of my personal opinion went into completely disagreeing with every single thing you just typed...

"Why destroy the tapes?"

Where did you hear that? The tapes were on an automatic recording loop. When the tapes ran out, they were recycled back through the loop and used again. Surveillance footage wasn't requested by law-enforcement in time and the footage from that evening was already taped over.

"Why bleach the bathroom?"

Having worked at a college danceclub, I can say with 100% certainty, at least in the case of the bar I worked at, that the bathrooms were mopped and scrubbed with bleach every single evening.
