4* Iowa verbal Ross Piershbacher (#11 OG) is taking visits next week to Alabama and Stanford.

Chances he switches to Alabama before the end of July? High.

It's just as ridiculous to maintain the B1G is above the ACC when the numbers don't prove that. But the overarching point was that ESPN is perceived to have a heavy bias towards the Southeast, when the reality is the two conferences situated in the Southeast and whom primarily recruit in the Southeast produce more NFL players than any other conference. Henceforth ESPN isn't as much biased as just correct in the assessment that the top players in the country by and large come from the Southeast.

i wouldn't lump the acc in with the sec as much as i would look at the acc on a case-by-case basis. teams like fsu, clemson, miami and then unc and vatech to a lesser extent produce nfl talent on a consistent basis. the acc as a whole does not whereas you can look at any sec team, save for vandy/kentucky, and you are constantly seeing nfl talent. i would agree with the overall point of best players being from the southeast, though

The point is over the last 4 years (more or less when ESPN really started covering recruiting) that the SEC is #1 (by far), with the ACC checking in at #2. Pitt, Louisville, and Syracuse will help add to those numbers going forward, more so Pitt and UL. I just don't get how ESPN can be called biased when the facts back up the rankings.

Nobody in the world is arguing that, it's just incredibly dumb that you say "the two conferences situated in the Southeast" as if this has ANYTHING to do with the ACC, a conference that is lightyears behind the SEC and perpetually loses to Big East schools like it's their job.

If anything, the narrow gap between the ACC and the B1G/Pac-12 in terms of producing NFL talent shows how consistently underacheiving programs like Clemson, FSU, Miami, and UNC are.

another thing that people fail to consider here. With SEC schools being more liberal in the flow of prospects on average than other conferences they actually have more prospects to potentially get to the nfl.

for instance last year (using rivals) the sec schools took on average 24.9 kids

for the b1g: 20.7
ACC: 19.8
big 12: 22.7

well you get the point, and if anyone feels last year is not representative of the recent history they are free to calculate

also http://oversigning.com/testing/index...iting-numbers/ did the work for me during the 2002-2010 period

Rivals' best player from Indiana, Austin Roberts commits to UCLA. He was a 4 star, and 247 sports' 3rd best player in Indiana as well.

Oversigning is a very powerful thing.

I look forward to Urban Meyer doing it in a more B1G friendly way at OSU.

The practice disgusts me, but until CFB goes more professional, this kind of **** is going to happen because the money is so huge.

I think the ability to "process" kids has more to do with it than oversigning. pushing kids to transfer/into medical schollies if they dont pan out.

either way, sec schools just are better in getting more rolls of the dice so more chances of rolling a 6 or whatever

Processing kids is a symptom of oversigning. You sign too many kids, have spring ball and offseason summer work, and then by camp you know which ones to cut, from existing players to incoming players.

A pretty disgusting practice, but these kids sign up knowing it could happen to them, so they aren't totally being taken advantage of.

Brandon Harris to announce tomorrow at 3 PM ET. Seems like LSU is the frontrunner so far, with Ohio State, Alabama, and Auburn in the mix.

Oh Brandon Harris picks LSU.

Rated 95 on 247 sports (#3 DT QB, 4 stars)
last 4 star DT QB on Rivals (#5 in position)

SEC starting to dominate the recruiting team rankings again.

Fun Facts: according to 247 Sports:
Tennessee moves up to 2nd in the rankings.
SEC has 4 of the top 5 team rankings, and 9 of the top 20 (ACC is 2nd, with 5-6 of the top 20, depends on your opinion on Louisville)

NC State's 22 is the most recruits for a team so far (as much as the bottom 10 teams combined, though to be fair, the bottom 7 have 1 recruit each)

FSU picks up a commitment from 3* RB Jonathan Vickers from Tallahassee. Funny he is a composite 3* with his offer list that includes Alabama, Notre Dame, Stanford, Clemson, Wisconsin, and Louisville. I'd guess come the final rankings he's a consensus 4*.

Here is his sophomore film

With that kind of offer list, I'm assuming grades might be suspect or simply just the injury concern?

Nigel Bethel commits to the U (over FSU).

Solid pick up. Hopefully he can convince Chad Thomas to join him.

4* wideout Dominique Booth of Indiana to UT.

He's a Rivals250 player, and the composite 175th ranked player on 247.
