Great summary to this team under Jerrahhhhhhhhhhhh

And, well, there's a lot of capped-out desperation on the roster this year. The 2006 through 2009 drafts for the Cowboys have left them with Doug Free, Jason Hatcher, Orlando Scandrick, and Anthony Spencer, which isn't much of a haul. And since all of those guys got big contracts, there's no space to bring in any notable veterans behind them. The Cowboys might have more street free agents and players with no upside who are one false step away from playing a huge role than just about any non-Raiders team in the league. And it's still the same problems, too: The Cowboys are likely to start below-average players at four of the five spots on the offensive line, which is a hassle when your quarterback is at his best improvising with time to throw. They're remarkably thin at safety, turning things over to former Steelers backup Will Allen and former undrafted free agent Barry Church, who is coming off a torn Achilles. If the Cowboys don't turn it around and make the playoffs in 2013, it's because their stars-and-scrubs philosophy hasn't worked.

He's got you thinking that we're going 4-0 to start the season so he must've done something right along the way.

Are you guys ready? Given that the iggles will be terrible the skins are likely to take a step back looks like you and us will decide the division between ourselves. Given the gaping holes for both teams should be a fun fight.

Cowboys trailed in 4Q in 18 of Tony Romo's 55 wins. His 4Q stats in comebacks: 140-206, 1,881 yds, 15 TD, 2 INT, 117.0 rating #AlwaysChokes

I read the other day that in the history of the Cowboys, we've only missed the playoffs 4 years in a row ONCE. 6-10, 8-8, 8-8, ?. Is this our year? I hope so. Our skill positions and LBs say yes. Hopefully they can overcome our weaknesses and praying for good health

The Cowboys have filled their roster with the 53rd player on Tuesday, acquiring rookie linebacker/defensive end Caesar Rayford from the Colts.

The Cowboys have sent an undisclosed draft pick to Indy in exchange for the undrafted rookie, who started out with the Redskins before joining the Colts in May. Rayford (6-7, 267) made their roster, only to be sent to the Cowboys three days later.

Rayford had five sacks for the Colts, not only leading the team, but all NFL players in the preseason.
He’s considered a rangy player with long arms. Rayford ran a 4.56 in the 40 coming out of college at the Univ. of Washington. He’s also shown the ability to block kicks.

Rayford also played for the British Columbia Lions of the CFL and Spokane Shock and the Utah Blaze of the Arena League.

Rayford, 27, fills out the roster after the Cowboys had an empty spot after trading veteran tight end Dante Rosario. This is the fourth trade the Cowboys have made since Saturday. They’ve acquired Edgar Jones from the Chiefs, traded Sean Lissemore to the Chargers and Rosario to Chicago.

The trade might suggest the Cowboys are not that confident in Anthony Spencer’s return from a knee injury. Spencer has yet to practice since the first few days of training camp, before he underwent a scope on his knee.

Currently, the Cowboys are prepared to play George Selvie and Kyle Wilber at the end positions if Spencer doesn’t play.

He's the Romocoaster. Not saying there haven't been glorious finishes... just that there's been just as many lows. I think the Cowboys now have enough weapons and a good enough line to pretty much make it mistake free for Romo to drive the bus. His talent should shine without blaming others.

I think the ironic thing about you bashing the Cowboys "secret sauce" is that it's not Jerry's GMing strategy/philosphy/new knowledge/etc... rather it's Romo's new tweak he found in his throwing mechanics. haha.

It's going to come down to Fewell and that DL, specifically DT. Our DTs investments this off season so far looked good. So that was a big plus. We have established a different front, 34. So that should be interesting to see as well. So we have a bunch of different fronts from a 43 with Cullen J. as the DE I think it was, and then a different 34 front as well. So Fewell seems to be pulling out all the stops to save his job. This is his contract year and I can't stand the guy.

However, different year, so let's see what happens. If the defense can have success utilizing all these looks then I think we will be set for the season. If not, it will be another long season.

For this specific game, I am interested to see how the Dallas OL can cope with these different looks. It could be chaotic for them or like in Fewellesque fashion we blitz, no one gets home, and our Cb "forgets" to cover a wide open wr! That very well could happen. So I know as a fan I want to see if the blitzes get home and if they do, how does the Dallas OL look?

On offense, The passing game always worries me with guys like Nicks and Cruz not getting a lot of time due to injury. RR has to come up big and Murphy and Meyers will need to contribute. David Wilson has to step up big. If he does rushing and catching the ball I think it will make us that much better.

So many things to watch come Sunday. I want to see how this new Dallas 43 system works and how Kiffin does now in the NFL.

And that can be followed by 4-8.

And if you read the write-up it actually states that if everything goes right for the Cowboys they could be 12-4 due to a soft schedule.

Point being that this group of players never gets the job done when it counts and compounding it is the amount of money Jerrah keep plowing in to these losers.

But Jerrah does pay mediocre guys lots of money and then they don't produce. It is like the minute they sign, they go to sleep. Bradie James, Marion Barber, Roy Williams (twice) .... and even their "stars" usually decline once they are signed. Romo, Ware, Witten ......

It is like they take his money and laugh at him. Oh, Ratliff. Heck Ratliff evens cusses him out in front of the team. Now he is always injured .... LOL.

Meh, I think Romo, Ware, Witten lived up to their pay. We all know Jerry has been burned. Jerry knows it too. But I think he's smartening up. Look at Anthony Spencer... I think Jerry is scared to give him what he's asking for and I think it's a byproduct of being burned by guys like Free.

Some of the resignings pissed me off too. Marcus Spears ugh.

But Free really screwed us up. Here's a guy we developed, watched him bloom as a starter and we gave him $$$ in his prime. There probably would've been an uproar if we had let him go. I know you're classic for trying to identify those players. ie. You said it about Chris Canty, Abram Elam...

I see Jerry smartening up a little though. Letting Alan Ball go. Letting Laurent Robinson go. Letting Felix go.

I think Waters unseats Mack. He's got a lot of history playing the zone blocking scheme, and I hope he has enough left to be effective since I hate Mack. If he's decent then the line will improve a ton in the middle.

I think the ironic thing about you bashing the Cowboys "secret sauce" is that it's not Jerry's GMing strategy/philosphy/new knowledge/etc... rather it's Romo's new tweak he found in his throwing mechanics. haha.

That was a joke right? Now that we've signed Waters (Thank god!) and if Leary is healthy, I agree we have improved DRAMATICALLY over last year.
I'm glad we were able to talk Waters into coming here, has to be tons better than MB but your post was before we picked him up unless you have insider knowledge :) As far as the secret sauce comment heres what was said:

Quote:
Criticism of the work by owner and general manager Jerry Jones has been rampant for years, but Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones believes all of the talk motivates his father.

“Obviously we feel like we have a great organization in the Cowboys but we can always be better,” Stephen Jones said. “We look for ways to be better. We do that both on the field and off the field. We’re convinced we’ve got the 'secret sauce' to put this thing back together again and win championships.”
No mention of Romo but I guess if thats what you got out of the comment then, whatever *shrugs*

Glad to see we are upgrading our ST's too. I give it up to JJ for reacting to some of our weaknesses. Took a while but happy he made the adjustments.

LOL.
No mention of your pet cat and "#1 receiver" Miles Austin?

Some of the resignings pissed me off too. Marcus Spears ugh.

But Free really screwed us up. Here's a guy we developed, watched him bloom as a starter and we gave him $$$ in his prime. There probably would've been an uproar if we had let him go. I know you're classic for trying to identify those players. ie. You said it about Chris Canty, Abram Elam...

I see Jerry smartening up a little though. Letting Alan Ball go. Letting Laurent Robinson go. Letting Felix go.
Well, in that sense, he has not doubled up his bets.

But look, the Sean Lee deal is a bad deal. Any deal that puts more than 50% of the cap hit past their 30th Birthday is not a good deal. QB might be the only exception. K, Punter.

But we will see what this year brings. Always hope before Game 1.

You mean the guy who was immediately demoted the day Jerry drafted Dez Bryant? Like Carpenter, the minute they drafted Spencer, he got demoted. Austin has won us more games than Dez. Of that I am sure.

So ............. you can bark all you want but I have been right and you have been wrong about this team for 7 years.

BTW, no mention of your eldest (or youngest) boys in some time? Why is that?
