:'(

The Kenny Britt comeback route is our best pass play. I don't understand why we don't run one every possession.

I'd love to unload Kenny for a decent draft pick, but have a hard time seeing it happen.

I love Kennys ability, but his desire and concentration leave much to be desired. I hope he plays well this season, and that we possibly even franchise him if he does.

He was doing some sloppy blocking, the first play made me laugh at his pathetic attempt

Injuries killed Kenny, those bastards.

At least we'll always have the Arizona game to remember and those like three other games where he had no regard for human life.

Some of my predictions for the game:

-Locker has his ups and downs but overall plays well. 225 yds passing, 20 on the ground, 2tds and 0 int.

-CJ gets his first 100 yard game of his year

-The Titans D gets 4 sacks, 2 ints as they shut down the Chargers running game and gets after Philip Rivers all day.

Titans win 27-20

This week on DEF...
1. I think this week is similar to last week's game against the Texans to some extent in that a lot will depend on getting consistent pressure on the QB via the DL, via blitzes, etc. Rivers has done a better job this season thus far in limiting his mistakes; but he's shown in the past that he can get rattled. Make him uncomfortable and force him out of the pocket, and he'll throw some bad picks.

2. Keep an eye out for Danny Woodhead. With the exception of Tate's big, early run last week, our DEF has done an excellent job thus far with opposing runners. I'm not too worried about Mathews, as the Chargers don't keep him on the field very often despite his talent. But Woodhead is a threat out of the backfield with receiving. If Brown is draped on Gates, then I worry about who will be covering Woodhead.

3. Get George Wilson more involved. While Griffin has played very well this season and while Pollard has shown that he'll make some big hits (even if the NFL will fine him afterwards), Wilson has quietly been the most steady of the three safeties. If/when the Chargers start airing it out (which will definitely happen at some point), I hope they'll make the move from Pollard to Wilson, who is better in coverage. This means making necessary in-game adjustments on DEF.

The Chargers have only allowed 3 sacks all season, and Rivers has only throw 1 interceptions. I'm expecting us to at least get those numbers this weekend.

As you mentioned Mick, Rivers can get rattled. Fluker @ RT has played well for them, and with them doing more short routes than in the past the O-Line hasn't had to hold blocks as long.

With that said, if we can take away the short stuff, a tackle combination of Dunlap and Fluker should have our defenders licking their chops. But our best pressure will likely come up the middle where Clary leaves alot to be desired.

Hopefully our interior line causes havoc in this game, and it very well could

This week on OFF...
1. The Titans' offensive play-calling last week against the Texans was painfully predictable. If we lined up in power-formation, we ran the ball; if we spread things out, we passed the ball. There were some exceptions to this formula but very few. I'd like to see Loggains be less predictable in his schemes this week. Spread the field and run the ball with CJ. Line up in a power scheme and try to get a one-on-one matchup with Britt/Nate off the play-action. Etc.

2. Limit the stupid mistakes in the form of penalties. Turner's back-to-back ones last week were absolute killers, not to mention the penalties on Levitre and Britt that also had negative ramifications. We received something like 8-9 penalties last week. We can't do that and expect to win against most teams. As well as our DEF has been playing this season, our offense has to help them out by sustaining drives and putting points on the board. One way you do that is by avoiding those situations like last week where penalties kept us entrenched deep in our own territory.

3. Loosen the reins on Locker. Obviously, our bread-and-butter this season is still the running game. But let Locker take more shots down the field and let him make plays with his arms and his legs. Whereas the Bolts have been pretty tough against the run thus far, they've given up a ton of yards in the air (almost 800 yards through two games). I don't necessarily like our chances this week if we try to force 30+ rushing attempts this week against this defense, which might just be an exercise in stubbornness. Give Locker the responsibility to be more than a game-manager, and I think we'll see him respond positively against these Chargers.

If only we hadn't let up against the Texans we'd be setting 3-0!

With that said 2-1 is tied for the division lead (although Texans currently have tie breaker). I get the feeling the Texans will lose many more games this season, so we just need to keep winning...

The kind of overall game he needed to be honest. You don't draft a QB in the top ten to be a game manager. As is always the case you try to build on it.

The receivers are coming along, minus Kenny Britt who barely looks like he wants to be there.

I loved seeing the coaching staff give Locker more responsibility and freedom today, especially against a fairly poor Chargers defense. I think it did good things for his confidence and paid off with that great late game drive. He also showed a greater willingness to use his legs, which he certainly should. A really nice win for the Titans and for Locker in particular.

That being said Kenny needs to gtfo.

Kenny got booed hard after each of his drops (minus the one where he landed on his head) and especially so after that first one. The crowd really let him hear it

The only thing that really bothered me about this weeks game was the penalities, we've got to do better than that. But, with that said GO TITS!

Yep...the sheer number of penalties against us in the Chargers game was really crazy. In fact, we had 10 penalties in the first half alone, which has to be close to a record. Our OL and our ST must be better about this, as they're penalties keep pushing the offense back to the goalline. (Both against the Texans and the Chargers, it seemed like every drive was starting around the 10 yard line or worse because of penalties.)

There's some speculation out there that the Lions might be interested in trading for Kenny Britt, now that starting WR Nate Burleson is out with a broken arm.

Honestly, while there is the obvious Schwartz connection between the Titans and the Lions and while they could use a WR (even if Ryan Broyles has potential, he's young and oft-injured himself), this sort of trade seems unlikely to me. As bad as Britt has been playing and as little effort as we've made in trying to sign him to an extension, I'm not sure that we have much/any leverage for a deal like this. What would we get in return for Britt? A 5th or 6th rounder maybe?

At that price, I'd probably rather keep Britt this season and hope that he can at least have a few good games for us this season...

If the Titans can get anything for him at all, then they need to trade him.

I'd trade Britt for a 3rd or 4th, but I doubt anybody is going to give that for him.

Otherwise, I'd just let him rot on the bench for the year.

Fisher paid $50 mil to Finny and $30 mil to Cookie, and ole what's his face Schiano from Rutgers is now the HC for Tampa Bay. Someone could pay him. I'm fine with letting Britt play out this season, and then getting a comp pick in FA. Hopefully he finishes strong, and we can get a 4th from his contract. Especially since he's been out of trouble for a while.

It seemed like the writing was on the wall when we traded up for Hunter. Lets stick with the plan of starting Britt and letting Hunter be brought along with no rush. Let Britt hit FA, collect a comp pick, and draft us some Jordan Matthews sexyness in the draft.
