I thought that Bell ran the ball very well given the circumstances.

agreed, though the stats weren't eye popping he ran with a confidence and ability we are not used to

So it looks like Decastro and Gilbert are finally starting to play well. Velasco isn't doing too bad either.

Just move Adams back to RT. He's proved he's not a LT in the NFL.

pretty sick move tho, we give up a conditional pick for brown and only pay a couple hundred thousand of what he is owed and he is under contract to 2015

i know he hasnt played really well as of late but at that price its worth a shot to see if a change of scenery helps

Gilbert at LT who is finally starting to play well
BRown at LG where he should have been since day one
Velasco at C
Decastro at RG
Adams at RT

Honestly....how about mike adams at guard one day? I know it would look weird him being 6-8 and all, but alex boone is doing well in SF...hes a great run blocker, at guard his worst attribute would be hidden

And as some of you have mentioned, I think he starts out at LT, but I'd like to see him at guard too. May work better there, but not sure if he'd be better than Foster. Beachum is up at LT this week, we'll see how well he plays. Probably better than Adams at this point.

And while Adams' play thus far has certainly been disappointing and discouraging thus far, I'm not entirely giving up on him yet. We knew when we drafted him that he had the physical tools to be very good, but he was somewhat of a project, and it's showing. Same thing happened at Ohio State, he struggled early on and then was solid at the end. I think we give him some more time to see how much he can develop.

Also remember he's coming off an offseason where he couldn't really work on his craft , with the stabbing and all ... Adams definitely has a future

If the Jags and Browns are truly cleaning house, are there any guys on the respective teams you'd like to get? I for one would love either Gordon or Blackmon, even though they've got their issues.

Marcedes Lewis is also kinda interesting, but he's got a big contract. I think he could be a great asset as a blocker, given our ****** o-line, and as a red zone target.

I'm not gonna lie, I think we still have a shot this year. The AFCN is very bad and were only 2 games out.

Here's a mock draft. We get a 3rd for Wallace, 4th for Lewis, a 6th for Mendenhall and a 7th for Mundy. I can also see us getting another 7th for Will Allen, but I'll leave it out. We also probably traded a 7th for Levi Brown

1) Jake Matthews OT Texas A&M

-We need a LT because Mike Adams is not one. Matthews would be a plug and play LT and be the blindside protector Ben needs to survive the next few years.

2) Allen Robinson WR Penn State

-The Steelers will be losing 3 WRs this offseason and will need to upgrade at that spot. Antonio Brown is looking like a number 1, but I feel like he's best suited as a number 2 and Wheaton has all the looks of a dynamic playmaker, but hasn't shown it quite yet. That brings in Robinson, the big play receiver from Penn State. He's big, fast, and has good hands. He's very young and very good. The sky is the limit for him and there's no other WR on our roster who will bring what he does.

3) Jaylen Watkins CB Florida

-Despite being overshadowed in one of the best defensive backfields in the country, I believe he might be the best. I love his game. Has good size and looks to play a good zone defense. He isn't afraid to get physical and has good ball skills. Outside of Cortez Allen, we don't have any CBs who can be starters on this team. Ike isn't going to be around much longer, so we need to groom his replacement.

4a) CJ Fiedorowicz TE Iowa

-As much as I hate to say this, but the team needs to start looking for Heath's eventual replacement. Fiedorowicz hasn't put up great stats in his career, but he's a sure-handed possession reciever who can block well. He's a poor man's Heath.

4b) Anthony Steen OG Alabama

-Strictly an interior depth pick, as he can play both guards and may be tried at center. Steelers lack any starter caliber back ups along their OL and bringing Steen in the fold will help that area.

5) Prince Shembo OLB Notre Dame

-In the Woodley mold, Shembo has the look for a Steelers OLB. With Worilds leaving and no serious depth behind Jones and Woodley, I could see them using a mid round pick for depth. A high-motor defender, he has the look of a nice special teams and rotational guy.

6a) Will Clarke DE West Virginia

-Has a good frame, but his technique needs work. With Keisel almost out the door and Ziggy Hood not living up to expectations, I could see DL being a need.

6b) Antonio Andrews RB Western Kentucky

-Has solid size and productive, but he fumbles a lot. Only Bell will be signed through next season, so we'll need bodies back there. If he can get rid of those fumbling issues, we could have a good one.

7) Trey Burton ATH Florida

-Can play WR, RB, HBack and TE for our offense. A weapon.

UDFA:

CJ Brown QB Maryland
Jordan Hall RB Ohio State
BJ Stevens OLB Cal U (PA)
Dorian Bell ILB Dusquense
Darwin Cook S West Virginia

Like the mock Hines. Colt Lyerla is guy I could see in the 3, 4 range right now, given his unexpected quitting of the team.

I could also see us finally signing a guy or two this offseason. Ben, Pouncey, and a couple other guys are in for an extension, clearing up cap space. I expect a bunch of the older guys to be allowed to leave or be cut (Keisel, Foote, Clark, Taylor, hell maybe even Polamalu), opening up a bunch of cap space. I'd personally like Brandon Spikes, but he's not gonna be cheap.

Lyerla is a guy who has some issues. Not sure he's worth the risk. Talent is there, but I don't know about him.

Here goes a quick scenario but it's still too early , but right now the Steelers are at 4 and the Eagles are at 11 ... lets say Marcus Mariota comes out and Chip Kelly wants his boy, it Would cost the Eagles 11 and 43 to move up to 4 and get Mariota

Using WalterFootball for who is left

11 - Cyrus Kouandjio , LT , Bama
36 - Eric Ebron , TE , North Carolina
43 - Stephon Tuitt , DE , Notre Dame

Rest is up in the air , with the Comp pick , I'd say WR and CB are the next biggest needs

If we get a high pick I'm don't think we should move down unless we are getting what the falcons or Washington gave up.

Because we need top talent. Not quantity.

Not really a fan of CK. Think he's a RT.

I agree , I doubt they end up in the top 5 , but if they do I think you got to go QB got to think of life after Ben

I'm not a big fan of any of the LT in this draft , but Antonio Richardson but that's too early for him

QB or Mike Evans , Mike Evans and AB can make a great 1 2 punch, and when you go 3 WR slide AB in the slot and Wheaton outside

I'm a huge fan of Sammy Watkins. I want him BAD.

I like Watkins too , but Evans is just that big tough receiver that Ben wants and needs

but I'm on the Marcus Mariota or Brett Hundley bandwagon

both young guys who would only improve sitting behind Ben for 2 yrs

you never know when you'll get the chance to solidify your franchise for the next 15 yrs
