Default Could the Jaguars be the next team to go 0-16?

Arguably the worst, and least talented team in the NFL. Looking at their schedule (@DEN, SD, SF, @TEN, ARI, @HOU, @CLE, HOU, BUF, TEN, @IND), I don't see any team they could really beat without having the Football gods fix the game for them.

It's hard to see a win there as well but here are the games I think they are most likely to be able to get a win.

Arizona at home, at Cleveland, Buffalo at home, and Tennessee at home.

Week 17, they are facing a Colts team that just might be resting its starters.

Unless the Titans are using Rusty Smith at quarterback, there's not a chance this happens.

They'll probably back into a win but honestly, I don't see a game on the schedule where I would even give the Jags a chance. Maybe Arizona at home?

I think the 2013 Jaguars are worse than the 2008 Lions, for what it's worth.

Fairly sure Matt Hasselback and Donald Brown could get the job done.

That 2008 Lions team was bad, but it really wasn't 0-16 bad. They had some really unlucky breaks.

According to footballoutsiders.com, the 2013 Jaguars have the worst DVOA through the first five weeks of any team they've charted in the past 20+ years.

The second worst team on that list (after five games) was the 2008 Lions, and the Jaguars are even worse. These are the top 8 worst teams footballoutsiders.com has charted through 5 games:

2013 JAC -76.0%
2008 DET -69.8%
2008 STL -65.1%
2009 OAK -63.7%
1989 DAL -61.7%
2001 WAS -61.4%
2005 SF -61.1%
2000 CIN -59.6%

http://www.footballoutsiders.com/dvo...5-dvoa-ratings

There's a very realistic chance they go 0-16.

This post seems to imply that because the Jags have a horrendous DVQRS then they have a chance at going winless.

Interesting.

Stats! Stats! Stats! Stats! Stats! Stats! Stats! Stats! Stats! Stats! Stats! Stats! I hardly remember most posters, but you stick out because every one of your posts starts off with: "According to some **** football website..."

In all seriousness I don't think their stats are any indicator of how bad they are going to be throughout the year. I think if someone in this thread took the time to watch their QB play and their putrid defense, then they'd probably come to the conclusion that the Jags flat out suck and are probably the least talented team in the NFL. Their chances of going winless exist because they are inferior to every other team in the NFL.

As long as Justin Blackmon doesn't get arrested in the next couple weeks, then I'd take the chances that they get a win by seasons end. A 2-14 season might be out of the question, but going winless is hard to do. A lot of real ****** teams have won at least one game.

The Chargers are not a good team - they have an atrocious defense. Houston could be ready for a debacle of a season despite being far more talented. The Cardinals offense is almost equally as bad as the Jaguars. Cleveland could be ready for a four win season after their future Hall of Fame QB went down with a knee injury. Buffalo is bad. So there's a glimmer of hope.

It should be interesting to see if they get demoralized too. All it takes is one big play to get some energy and gain enough momentum to win just 1 game.

Does the coaching staff get fired if they do go defeated?

Henne will pull a really good game out of his ass like he did last year. 1-15. #1 pick.

Cleveland or Buffalo are possible. We'll have to see how Cleveland does at the QB position.

It's really hard to go unvictorious for an entire season. You have to be spectacularly bad and somehow manage to avoid lucky breaks.

The difference between the Jags and the '08 Lions is that the Lions defense was terrrrrrrrrible. Even though they had some talent, they were easy to beat because they couldn't get off the field.

The Jags defense is still really bad, but the reason they are god awful is their historically bad offense. The key to a really flukey upset is usually special teams and defensive touchdowns. I think the Jags have one of those games and Henne is competent enough that they finish 1-15.

I'm one of the few unfortunate souls who have watched every Jaguars game this season. They are as bad as their stats indicate. On pace for the worst point differential ever and most punts ever. The offense is the worst I've ever seen.

The defense isn't much better. There is some young talent, put there is no pass rush. For laughs, go watch the Seattle game. Every time Wilson did a play action fake, the Jaguars bit and there were Seahawk receivers wide open. Yes, the horrible offense doesn't help, but they are still below average in yards per play, horrible in yards per rush, their scoring defense is abysmal, and are tied for 27th in turnovers forced (Pittsburgh hasn't forced a single turnover lolz).

I think they will win a game somewhere. Henne is MUCH better than Gabbert (but he still sucks). I just don't know where that game is.

I don't see the point of playing Gabbert ever again.

They'll draft a QB anyway.

I don't see the point of playing Gabbert ever again.
They want to lose?

Want to know how bad the Jaguars are? Jacksonville Jaguars fans on Twitter take huge offense when you make fun of them for attendance issues. They will be quick to point out that they were actually 20th in average attendance and 17% in percent capacity last year.

Fast forward to this year. Feel the Teal (which is Jacksonville Jaguars tickets) posted that this year they ahead of St. Louis, Oakland, and Tampa Bay in attendance as if that is a good thing. My response was "oh, we're celebrating being 29th?" The response I received from the fanbase was extremely negative. But I embrace being one of the most hated Jaguars fans on Twitter. I think the only guy ahead of me is the racist who wants McCaron or Murray over Bridgewater simply because they are white.

Screw you both.

Come on....losing to Jacksonville would totally be a Cleveland thing to do.

No, losing to Jacksonville at home then some how beating the Patriots on the road would be a typical Cleveland move.

Everyone would be like what the **** is wrong with that place.
