Keeper league question: do I nab Vernon Davis (wouldn't keep) for Michael Crabtree (16/14/12)? It's a 17 round draft, we get to keep 3 players, and I just snuck into the playoffs.

Crabtree is probably my #3 or #4 keeper, other potential ones are Zac Stacy (16/14/12), Julius Thomas (13/11/9), Josh Gordon (6/4/2), Dennis Pitta (16/14/12), and Tim Wright (16/14/12).

Benefit to Davis is he's insurance in case Julius continues to sit out and I can start him over a guy like Amendola in a WR/TE slot if Julius does play. Worth it, or is getting Crabtree late better enough than Gordon earlier/Pitta late that I should hang on to him?

Yes, but it depends on how competitive the league is. If you know most guys will be asleep at the switch b/c they are out of the race then you may be able to sneak him by as a FA claim.

Nice catch. I actually meant that as my reasoning for playing Spiller over Andre Brown . I'd play Cruz instead of Brown. I bolded the wrong Giant. :sheepish: lol

The more I think about it, the less I like Jackson, anyway. It's just so tough to sit a guy you know will be heavily targeted but also heavily blanketed, though.

MJD, Vereen, Alshon, and Olsen. Though Cameron becomes very intriguing for me b/c I think NE will throw everything they have defensively at Gordon and force the Browns to win with someone else.

I'd always play for the money. Thomas is looking like a guy that has a more serious injury than anyone wants to let on. Reports were that he was "moving better" but then he still didn't play. IDK . . . it all kind of screams high ankle to me. Davis is a perfect fix this week with the late game and looks like a gift to me. Is there really nobody better you could drop? I'd rather hold Crabtree vs. Tim Wright, personally. Especially since you have two TEs I'd rather have as keepers in Pitta & Thomas.

very competitive, but a full roster of IDP's could help my case. don't think I'd have a problem getting Ace. it's the guys I want after him I'm worried about (Olivier Vernon, Fasano)

I've already clinched with an 11-2 record (my playoff runs WK 15 and 16), however there is one team that is also 11-2 that has the tie-breaker over me right now, so I'd like to win, but it's not a huge deal as I'm already guaranteed the #2 seed at the lowest.

I'd prefer to play against the team that is currently the #3 seed in the first round, but the 3rd and 4th seed are both 8-5 so they could flip if the 4th seed wins and 3rd loses.

So, I'm just going to go in trying to win this weekend and let the rest play out.

Here's what I need help with:

Pick 2 RB: Chris Johnson, Knowshon Moreno, Zac Stacy, Giovani Bernard, Steven Jackson

Pick 2 WR: Jordy Nelson, Alshon Jeffrey, Josh Gordon, Keenan Allen, Tavon Austin, Michael Floyd

1 Flex: From the previous mentioned players.

Right now, I think I'm leaning towards: CJ, Knowshon, Alshon and Gordon with Stacy in the flex.

Yea the Pats look to have the best match up, but the Browns do have Gordon, who at the moment, looks like a non-mortal (I also have Gordon and will be starting him).

Unclear from my post, but that would be a trade - not a FA acquisition. Davis owner (who also owns Torrey Smith and Peyton Manning) didn't make the playoffs and is looking to get some keepers for next year. If he'd take Wright or Pitta I'd do that, but I don't see that happening. Crabtree for Davis is definitely a safe play with the Thomas injury, and you're right it does seem like the injury more of an issue than anybody is letting on.

I'd like to make a push for Manning since he's got no keeper value in this league and would be great for the stretch run, but he's asking for Thomas or Stacy and with how little I can keep those guys for and how good they are for the playoffs anyway I want to hold on to them. I think I can deal with keeping Stacy/Thomas/Gordon though and maybe Pitta instead of Gordon gets suspended for the year or something.

Fasano has been a touchdown machine lately and the Redskins don't exactly have the best pass defense so I would agree with you.

Do I dare bench Knowshon this week? I am starting Andre Brown for sure but I have Montee Ball, CJ Spiller, and Ben Tate as well as Knowshon. I'm starting to think to Broncos will begin to rest Knowshon a little for the playoffs.

Of that group, I'd go NE. Personally, I'm rolling the dice on the Raiders in a few leagues. NYJ looks seriously awful right now.

Gotcha. Still, I'd do it. You clearly draft well enough to ignore the keeper values, anyway. Play for the money. Crabtree is an unknown on an unknown snap count. He's too risky to play until he shows something big and isn't likely to do so against Seattle so you won't likely want to play him vs. TBay, which is his only really good match up.

Knowshon was questionable all week and still ended up with 90 total and a TD. If they're not resting him when he's banged up they won't when he's now off the injury report. Do not sit him.

Rashad Jennings, OAK RB @NYJ

Bobby Rainey, TB RB Vs. BUF
In a high risk move, I'd go White. He finally looks well enough to be a factor and has a better match up than he did last week.

Playoffs starting this week, lets get a lineup goin.
(non-PPR)

RBs: Pick 2
Matt Forte vs. Dallas
Reggie Bush vs. Philly
Alfred Morris vs. KC
Bobby Rainey vs. Buffalo
Steven Jackson vs. Green Bay

WRs: Pick 2
Calvin Johnson vs. Philly (obviously starting)
Alshon Jeffrey vs. Dallas
Keenan Allen vs. Giants
Crabtree vs. Seattle
Harry Douglas vs. Green Bay

TEs:
Gronk vs. Cleveland
Jimmy Graham vs. Carolina

There's some obvious choices in there like Calvin, Forte, and Gronk/Jimmy, so I'm thinking of keeping Gronk & Jimmy at the TE/Flex spot, so basically which RB and WR should I also start?

Dallas is fantasy gold for RBs and Bush doesn't sit with how consistent that offense is. As long as Cutler is out, Alshon is a must-start and probably after Cutler is back, now that he can see how good he is when a QB actually feeds him.

Gronk/Graham never, ever, sit.

Gordan can put up 40 points and that Defense can still get 14 points easily.

tolbert seems to be easiest choice, assuming he plays. ben tate is inconsistent, a bit banged up, and playing on a short week. i'd say that makes johnson the highest upside play. i would say gerhart if not for the combination of the baltimore matchup and cassell starting at qb

What do you guys think of starting Wacco Flacco over Romo this week? Romo is averaging something like 16 points a game and Flacco seems to be on a roll. Plus Romo is not good on monday nights.

Also, start MJD over Gio?

as much as i like ravens players this week, flacco has thrown just 15 tds in 12 games and has yet to throw more than 2 in a game. in this case you just have to roll with your fantasy stud. starting jones-drew over gio really depends on your scoring system. if it's ppr there's no justifying it, even though gio had a pretty weak showing against a terrible chargers d last week.

Would you trust KC's DST against Washington or roll the dice with Buffalo's DST?
