Default End of Season 2014 Mock 3 Rounds

ROUND 1

1. Houston Texans - *Teddy Bridgewater |QB| Louisville:
After successfully tanking by ousting their coach and mandating Keenum start, the Texans get their franchise QB. Theodore might not be as elite as some recent top overall picks but he’s perfect for the Texans. Mobile, strong armed with accuracy, and takes care of the football.
NFL Comp: Ryan Tannehill

2. St.Louis Rams (WAS) – *Greg Robinson |OT| Auburn:
Long’s blown knee and the emergence of one of my favorite guys last year, Stedman, has me going in a different direction with this pick. Fisher would no doubt love Clowney/Barr, as he’s always favored top shelf athletes on defense but…Mr Robinson is nearly as great of a beast on the other side of the line. Saffold’s likely to see big money elsewhere so there’s clearly a need. And a DE would be a luxury. Robinson’s my 1st man crush of this draft season. I think he's the #1 OT if he declares this year. He's explosive, athletic and shows ideal nastiness for the trenches.
NFL Comp: Jason Peters

3. Jacksonville Jaguars - Anthony Barr |DE/OLB| UCLA:
Obviously QB is the top need but I’m not convinced GM Caldwell will reach, although local guy Bortles would be tempting. Barr isn't as talented as Clowney but he's a better football player and the top defensive prospect in this class.
NFL Comp. Demarcus Ware

4. Cleveland Browns - *John Manziel |QB| Texas A&M:
Browns FO is in a precarious position after pulling the rug out from Chudzinski. They need all the pieces in place asap for a chance at becoming a contending team and won't hesitate to overdraft a QB they covet. Fast track might be to trade for Ryan Mallett, but if they go with the draft, GM Lombardi likes to focus on where a prospect will be rather than what they are coming out. John Football's only a rs soph. I've looked at the majority of his games, specifically focusing on his arm because I think it'll be the determining factor for him. I've come to the conclusion that there's nothing wrong with his arm. It's an adequate NFL arm right now. Very similar to Brees' arm. A notch below Romo's arm. It's the same arm as Matt Ryan. Same arm and even slightly better then Kirk Cousins. Now look at how big a factor QB movement was in the wildcard playoffs. It's becoming almost as necessary a trait as accuracy.
NFL Comp: Fran Tarkenton

5. Oakland Raiders - *Jadeveon Clowney |DE| South Carolina:
For Al. A perfect fit for the defensive scheme. The only way the Raiders are competing in that division is to win the time of possession by running the ball and rush the hell out of Manning , Rivers and Smith.
NFL Comp: Mario Williams

6. Atlanta Falcons - Jake Matthews |OT| Texas A&M:
Matthews isn’t incredible but he projects as a very reliable OL.
NFL Comp: Jordan Gross

7. Tampa Bay Buccaneers – Khalil Mack |DE/OLB| Buffalo:
Mack’s a monster prospect and destined for a Von Miller type role, wherever he ends up.
NFL Comp: Akeem Ayers

8. Minnesota Vikings – *Blake Bortles |QB| Central Florida:
Spielman has drafted three QBs in his time; Tarvaris Jackson, John David Booty , and Christian Ponder. He tends to favor the athletic types more than strictly pocket guys. Blake looks an awful lot like a weaker armed Roethlisberger. But that could also mean he's another John Skelton.
NFL Comp: Ben Roethlisberger

9. Buffalo Bills – C.J. Mosley |LB| Alabama:
Mosley is simply a beast of a prospect and could probably fit at any LB position in any defense.
NFL Comp: Lawrence Timmons

10. Detroit Lions – *Sam Watkins |WR| Clemson:
Going bpa might still net them a significant need. Watkins is unique guy in that he's an elite yac WR that can also go over the top.
NFL Comp: Randall Cobb

11. Tennessee Titans - Kyle Van Noy |LB/DE| BYU:
KVN is being slept on. He’s got a great all-around game and is explosive.
NFL Comp: Jamie Collins

12. New York Giants - *Eric Ebron |TE| North Carolina:
A collective groan might be uttered if the Giants pass on an OL but imo the real glitch in the offense this year lies at TE. Taking another rookie OL high in the hopes of correcting the line again seems unlikely. There are some good OL slated to hit FA this year that can solve the problems up front straight away. Ebron is an elite talent at the position and a great fit.
NFL Comp:Antonio Gates

13. St.Louis Rams - *HaSean Clinton-Dix |S| Alabama:
Looks like a physical CB playing S.
NFL Comp: Brodney Pool

14. Chicago Bears - Darqueze Dennard |CB| Michigan St:
Liked Dennard early this season and he’s gotten steadily better and raised his stock.
NFL Comp: Jason McCourty

15. Pittsburgh Steelers - *Mike Evans |WR| Texas A&M:
Antonio Brown’s been a one man army this season. Evans excelled in 50/50 situations with a miniature Roethlisberger at A&M, so he should fit right in.
NFL Comp: Plaxico Burress

16. Dallas Cowboys – *Calvin Pryor |S| Louisville:
Possibly the 2nd 0r 3rd S off the board if he declares.
NFL Comp: Mark Barron

17. Baltimore Ravens – Taylor Lewan |OT| Michigan:
Ravens OL is in shambles. What a difference a year makes. Possible right or left side plug and play guy. But some off the field incidents might hurt his stock.
NFL Comp: Mike Roos

18. New York Jets - *Austin Sefarian-Jenkins |TE| Washington:
ASF is better than I thought. Incredible body control and agility at his size. He’ll be a better pro then college player.
NFL Comp: Rob Gronkowski

19. Miami Dolphins – *Cyrus Kouandjio |OT| Alabama:
NFL Comp: Tyron Smith

20. Arizona Cardinals - *Cameron Fleming |OT| Stanford:
Shorter arms will hurt his stock but he's a people mover in the run game and has good feet in protection.
NFL Comp: Godser Cherilus

21. Green Bay Packers - Jeremiah Attaochu |OLB/DE| Georgia Tech:
Relentless and has played with more power this past season instead of strictly speed. Also endless nickname potential with this guy.
NFL Comp: Clark Haggans

22. Philadelphia Eagles - Jason Verrett |CB| TCU:
Still my top CB. Size & and speed, a bad TCU defense, and a stocked class of CBs have him lost in the shuffle.
NFL Comp: Joe Haden

23. Kansas City Chiefs - *Marqise Lee|WR|USC:
If not for a nagging gimpy knee, Lee might clearly be the best WR in this draft. If he has to have a procedure after the season on that knee, his stock will take a hit.
NFL Comp: Pierre Garcon

24. Cincinnati Bengals - *Scott Crighton |DE| Oregon St:
Crighton looks like a reach now but I don't think he'll be come May. More suited as an end in an even front, but athletic enough to play some in a hybrid scheme.
NFL Comp: Jason Babin

25. San Diego Chargers – Justin Gilbert |CB/S| Oklahoma St:
Gilbert's stock continues to rise.
NFL Comp: Terrance McGee

26. Cleveland Browns (IND) - *David Yankey |OG| Stanford:
Browns mustered one of the least productive running games in the league this year and the interior line play is primarily to blame. Yankey’s the top OG prospect imo.
NFL Comp: Rodger Saffold

27. New Orleans Saints – *Ryan Shazier |OLB/DE| Ohio St:
Shazier is a great sideline to sideline guy and phenomenal blitzer/pass rush specialist.
NFL Comp: Mychal Kendricks

28. Carolina Panthers – Jordan Matthews |WR| Vanderbilt:
Carries the Vandy offense at times.
NFL Comp: Eric Decker

29. New England Patriots - Shayne Skov |LB| Stanford:
Thumping tone setter for a defense. Skov’s a great tackler and not bad in coverage.
NFL Comp: Jarrett Johnson

30. San Francisco 49ers – *Bradley Roby |CB| Ohio St:
NFL Comp: Mike Jenkins

31. Denver Broncos – Trent Murphy |DE| Stanford:
Murphy should test well and be a good clean up guy for a strong defense. Does everything pretty well.
NFL Comp: Paul Kruger

32. Seattle Seahawks - *Antonio Richardson |OT| Tennessee:
Big, slow, but fairly reliable OT.
NFL Comp: Phil Loadholt

ROUND 2

1. Houston Texans – LaMarcus Joyner |S| Florida State:
Joyner could be the rangy backend leader the Texans have been missing.
NFL Comp: Jairus Byrd

2. Washington Redskins - Rashed Hageman |DT| Minnesota:
Not much flash but good athleticism and size to mold.
NFL Comp: Chris Canty

3. Cleveland Browns - *Odell Beckham Jr |WR| LSU:
Beckham is a great all around playmaker and has been clutch for LSU all season.
NFL Comp: Hines Ward

4. Oakland Raiders – Derek Carr |QB| Fresno St:
His stock is considered in the top ten range right now and Carr might do shockingly well at the combine and senior week if he participates. But he’s got a significant flaw that might turn teams off and cause him to drop - lack of poise under pressure. Lesser concerns but also hurdles are his level of competition and footwork. He’s feasted on opponents this year and has special arm talent but teams like the Jaguars, Browns and Vikings, given their recent QB situations, might be especially leery of a guy that’s perceived to not handle the rush.
NFL Comp: Kevin Kolb

5. Atlanta Falcons - *Tim Jernigan|DT| Florida St.:
Looks like a one gap DT but plays stout like a true NT. It'll be harder to be as dominant in the pros but he's a good worker.
NFL Comp. Brandon Mebane

6. Tampa Bay Buccaneers – *Kony Ealy |DE| Mizz:
NFL Comp: Frostee Rucker

7. Jacksonville Jaguars – Zach Mettenberger |QB| LSU:
Zach was pushing to be a first rounder before getting injured.
NFL Comp: Ryan Mallett

8. Minnesota Vikings - *Cyril Richardson |OG| Baylor:
Richardson has the skill set of an all pro OG but doesn't always dominate like it looks like he should.
NFL Comp: Willie Colon

9. Buffalo Bills – Morgan Moses |OT| Virginia:
Gangly and huge but sneakily athletic. A better pass protector than run blocker despite his size.
NFL Comp: Bryant McKinney

10. Tennessee Titans - *Ka'Deem Carey |RB| Arizona:
Has everything but it’s just in a small package.
NFL Comp: Cadillac Williams

11. New York Giants – Dominque Easley |DE/DT| Florida:
The top DT in this class but carries a worrisome injury history. Still, he’s talented enough to do a Mike Neal and play at DE.
NFL Comp: Mike Neal

12. St. Louis Rams – Zach Martin |OT/OG| Notre Dame:
Martin doesn’t look great doing it, but he’s a solid pass protector and run blocker.
NFL Comp: Justin Pugh

13. Detroit Lions – Ahmad Dixon |S| Baylor:
NFL Comp: Tanard Jackson

14. Pittsburgh Steelers - *Louis Nix III |DT| Notre Dame:
Imo not as dominant as he's been touted and now significant injury concerns popping up.
NFL Comp: Brandon Williams

15. Dallas Cowboys – Will Sutton |DT| Arizona St:
His energy is what I like most about his game. He’ll be a tone setter.
NFL Comp: Sen'Derrick Marks

16. Baltimore Ravens – Paul Richardson |WR| Colorado:
Not physical but an absolute blazer.
NFL Comp: TY Hilton

17. New York Jets – Billy Turner |OT/OG| North Dakota St.
Not much attention yet but he will rise. Very good athletic ability and gets after it.
NFL Comp: Wade Smith

18. Miami Dolphins - Carlos Hyde |RB| Ohio St:
Hyde’s quicker and faster than I first thought.
NFL Comp: Jonathan Stewart

19. Chicago Bears – *Ego Ferguson |DT| LSU:
Great first step quickness and a non stop motor but will need to work on everything else.
NFL Comp: Johnathan Babineaux

20. Arizona Cardinals – Chris Smith |DE/OLB| Arkansas:
A sleeper with a very good motor and pretty good strength & explosiveness.
NFL Comp: Derrick Burgess

21. Green Bay Packers - *Jace Amaro |TE/WR| Texas Tech:
Amaro isn’t quite as good as reputed but he's still a match up problem.
NFL Comp: Tony Scheffler

22. Philadelphia Eagles – *Brandin Cooks |WR| Oregon St:
Blazing speed but also has strong hands and yac skills.
NFL Comp: Harry Douglas

23. San Francisco 49ers (KC)- *Kelvin Benjamin |WR| Florida St:
A definite match up problem with upside but a considerable project as well.
NFL Comp: Reggie Williams

24. Cincinnati Bengals – Gabe Jackson |OG| Mississippi St:
Needs to play more stout, given his size, but looks like he could be a high level OG for a long time.
NFL Comp: Davin Joseph

25. San Diego Chargers – Michael Sam |OLB/DE| Mizz:
Varying grades on SEC sack leader Sam but I like his motor.
NFL Comp. Victor Butler

26. Indianapolis Colts – *Carl Bradford |LB| Arizona St:
Bradford's been a solid hybrid LB for the Sun Devils but he might be a better, thumping and blitzing ILB as a pro.
NFL Comp: Kawika Mitchell

27. New Orleans Saints - Kyle Fuller |CB| Virginia Tech:
NFL Comp: Jason Allen

28. Carolina Panthers - Michael Schofield |OT| Michigan:
NFL Comp: Jason Fox

29. New England Patriots – DaQuan Jones |NT| Penn State:
NFL Comp: Ryan Pickett

30. San Francisco 49ers – *Dion Bailey |S| USC:
NFL Comp: Dashon Goldson

31. Denver Broncos - *Jarvis Landry |WR| LSU:
NFL Comp: Dexter Jackson

32 Seattle Seahawks – Stanley Jean-Baptiste |CB| Stanford:
One of the more intriguing guys to watch at Senior week practices.
NFL Comp: Marcus Coleman

ROUND 3

1. Houston Texans - *Lache Seastrunk |RB| Baylor:
Seastrunk’s already dealing with nagging injuries this season. With the shelf life of pro RBs so short, I think there’s a good chance he declares. He's like a raw Darren Sproles-still needing a ton of seasoning in the passing game.
NFL Comp:Darren Sproles

2. Washington Redskins - *Devante Adams |WR| Fresno St:
Not sure on Adams’ stock yet, but if he declares and runs well, his upside could push him pretty high.
NFL Comp: Josh Morgan

3. Oakland Raiders - Ricardo Allen |CB| Purdue:
Allen’s my official CB sleeper. Aggressive, physical all round guy that got lost on a terrible defense this year.
NFL Comp: Chris Harris

4. Atlanta Falcons - *Stephen Tuitt |DT| Notre Dame:
NFL Comp: Kenyon Coleman

5. New York Jets (TB) – *Allen Robinson |WR| Penn St:
NFL Comp: Leonard Hankerson

6. Jacksonville Jaguars - *Bishop Sankey |RB| Washington:
NFL Comp: Jordan Todman

7. Cleveland Browns - Charles Sims |RB| West Virginia:
Became a workhorse for WVU by mid season as a runner and receiver.
NFL Comp: Joseph Randle

8. Minnesota Vikings – Chris Borland |LB| Wisconsin:
Borland’s an inside LB but he’s also been used as a 3rd down pass rusher extensively by the Badgers and has some versatility.
NFL Comp: Teddy Bruschi

9. Buffalo Bills – *Troy Niklas |TE| Notre Dame:
NFL Comp: Kyle Rudolph

10. New York Giants – James Hurst |OT| North Carolina:
NFL Comp: Sebastian Vollmer

11. St. Louis Rams - Telvin Smith |OLB| Florida St:
NFL Comp: Micheal Boley

12. Detroit Lions – *Tre Mason |RB| Auburn:
Propped up by a dominant run first Auburn offense but still, not a guy to bet against.
NFL Comp: Tashard Choice

13. San Francisco 49ers (Tenn) – Brent Urban |DE| Virginia:
NFL Comp:

14. Dallas Cowboys - *Brett Smith |QB| Wyoming:
Surprised many by declaring but he's got a lot of tools to groom.
NFL Comp: Drew Stanton

15. Baltimore Ravens - Kareem Martin |DE| North Carolina:
Martin is a long athletic DE that could eventually work inside an odd front once he gets stronger and bigger.
NFL Comp: Reggie Hayward

16. New York Jets - A.J. McCarron |QB| Alabama:
Gino's had flashes but would the Jets really want to put all their eggs in that basket? If nothing else, A.J.'s a solid back up, which NY doesn't have. A.J.'s more athletic than he gets credit for. If he improves his strength, he'll be a good starting NFL QB.
NFL Comp: Brian Hoyer

17. Miami Dolphins – Anthony Steen |OG| Alabama:
NFL Comp:

18. Chicago Bears - Travis Swanson |OC| Arkansas:
NFL Comp:

19. Cleveland Browns (PITT)– Max Bullough |LB| Michigan St.:
Big, physical with a burst and has coverage ability.
NFL Comp:

20. Arizona Cardinals – Tajh Boyd |QB| Clemson:
Boyd has seen his stock steadily drop since the FSU game but he’s been an impressively consistent passer in college.
NFL Comp: Tyrod Taylor

21. Green Bay Packers - Jordan Zumwalt |ILB|UCLA:
NFL Comp: Stewart Bradley

22. Philadelphia Eagles – Jackson Jeffcoat |OLB/DE| Texas:
NFL Comp: Ricky Sapp

23. Kansas City Chiefs – Antoine Exum |DB| Virginia Tech:
Sleeper due to all the injuries. Likely winds up at FS.
NFL Comp:

24. Cincinnati Bengals – *Marcus Roberson |CB| Florida:
NFL Comp:

25. San Diego Chargers – *Yawin Smallwood |LB| UConn:
NFL Comp: Greg Jones

26. Indianapolis Colts – Jack Mewhort |OT| Ohio St.
Mewhort’s regared as a strong pass protector.
NFL Comp: Adam Terry

27. New Orleans Saints – Weston Richburg |OC/OG| Colorado St.
NFL Comp:

28. Carolina Panthers – Jeremy Gallon |WR| Michigan:
Pint sized but plays big and clutch. Has some Welker/Amendola to him.
NFL Comp: Andrew Hawkins

29. New England Patriots - C.J. Fiedorwicz |TE| Iowa:
I’ve seen him regarded as a late round guy but I like him. There a little bit of Heath Miller there.
NFL Comp: Marcedes Lewis

30. San Francisco 49ers – Ja’Wuan James |OT| Tennessee:
NFL Comp: Chris Hairston

31. Denver Broncos – *Andrew Jackson |LB| Western Kentucky:
NFL Comp:

32. Minnesota Vikings (Sea) – Aaron Donald |DT| Pittsburgh:
NFL Comp: Drake Nevis

I'd be happy with Ekpre-Olomu, Tuitt and Swanson in Chicago.

Kouandijo is alright for the Ravens. They will need a replacement for Oher after he likely signs elsewhere. I'm not sure how much better the OL will be on a whole though. Osemele coming back healthy is the biggest thing. Well, that and getting a new C or hoping Gradkowski substantially improves.

Not sure about Martin in the second round. I'd love for the Ravens to get some athleticism in the front seven but they like their ends with size. That's why McPhee had to move out to DE/OLB instead of a full-time DE.

DE is just not a 1st Round need at all for the Bengals. Yes the Bengals will lose Michael Johnson in FA, but they just drafted Margus Hunt in the 2nd Round last year and they still have Wallace Gilberry who leads the teams in sacks. CB, S, and LB would be better positions to address in the 1st. Could see a OT taken high if they decide to move Whitworth inside and let Anthony Collins go in FA, but if they retain Collins then no point in taking a tackle that high. Roberson is a good pick in the 3rd.

Not terrible for the Falcons but we're in for another bad season ig we don't get help at end or LB.

OMG, if we took Hyde over Gordon, I would literally **** a brick.

That being said, Lamar Miller is not the issue, our run-blocking and offensive line play as a whole is. Richardson over Collins by a slight margin in the first and Steen is fine in the third, but give us a playmaking WR like Jordan Matthews in the 2nd instead please. We need a #1 type in Miami, and Mike Wallace is not that guy unfortunately.

give me richardson in the first for the saints and christian jones or aaron donald in the third.

just not a big fan of a pure pass rusher to the saints as galette already is the one dimensional up field rusher, need a guy with more versatility opposite of him. also pass rush really isnt that much of an issue anyway. OT on the other hand is bad although i guess next weeks well see what armstead can bring

So Detroit's getting two CB's and a RB? If this happens I'm quitting football.

Looks like you have the Jets making huge reaches at every pick. You do know we fired Tannenbaum right?

A QB in the first 3 rounds but no safety? I don't see that happening.

2. Washington Redskins - *Louis Nix III |DT| Notre Dame:
Imo not as dominant as he's been touted and now significant injury concerns popping up.
NFL Comp: Dan Williams

Wow, you really sold me there. Cofield is our best Dlineman, so if we go DL first it needs to be a DE. I'd go Hageman or Cyril Richardson in this scenario

5. Washington Redskins - *Jarvis Landry |WR| LSU:
NFL Comp: Lavelle Hawkins

Like it, we need offensive weapons

Change Dallas's 3rd round to an more valuable position like OL or S and you have a very nice mock. :)

Romo has a long guaranteed contract and Orton is firmly entrenched as his backup. The typical Dallas route of mid-to-late round project QB would fit the mold and value better.

Steen, Exum (would LOVE as S), or any myriad of FS prospects would vastly improve their respective positions rather than a 3rd QB.

Had him going to the Bengals in the 3rd, then bumped him down after adding someone else. It's a stacked CB class. After the little I've seen of him, I didn't rank him all that highly, but he might move up after I watch some more.

I think Borland and Robinson in the 3rd are pretty good values.

Well, Wilcox was a very inexperienced prospect, switching from RB, so it's expected that he'll need time to develop. Church has his issues in coverage but overall I thought he was a good player? And he's locked up long term.

I know Romo's contract is massive but they really need someone to push him, and that's not Orton. A QB early would send a message.

The message would be "we'd rather buy into the notion that professional football players work harder when we waste premium picks than actually draft to improve the team".

Not a strong message IMHO.

Wilcox fits best as a SS. Church is purely a SS. Church's contract is long-term as he's a stud in ST and very good in run support. However once Wilcox develops he'll be a package player.

Dallas's FS play this year has been atrocious.

Do we really have the 8th pick? Also, if we pass on Mathews for TE, I will stomp the yard in anger for that. We have no OL, but we draft a TE. Marc Ross better get his head out of his butt this off season.

Message might be..."I'm the new coach and regardless of the contract or JJ, I'm not tied to Romo. If he doesn't learn to manage better I'll find someone who can."

It's a projected order with just 2 weeks left. I've got them losing out.

I would like that. However, I think we beat the redskins. Who knows maybe Cousins gives them a boost and our team quits after losing to the Lions. We may need the other teams in the top 10 to win too.

Mixed about the Eagles draft...don't think Skov is a 1st round guy right now.
