A few weeks ago, the Texans hired George Godsey as their QB coach. He was at UCF from 2005-2010 (Bortles redshirted 2010). Not sure if that makes any difference of which QB they'll take, but its interesting.

I completely disagree. Bortles can throw on a rope when he needs to.

I feel like I'm watching Kerry Collins with him. That isn't necessarily a bad thing. Collins showed promise early in his career.

Collins had a huge arm and a gun slinger mentality. He was a big bodied, rocket armed QB but not mobile. Bortles is much more athletic than Collins. Bortles is more a Big Ben than a Collins.

I really like the comparisons between a raw Andrew Luck and Big Ben for Bortles. Very strong in the pocket with athletic ability to extend plays plus a good arm. I feel like Bortles is a prospect that can only get better with development and coaching, I'd love to have him in Oakland.

Well, the draft is less than two weeks away. It appears Bortles has become the consensus top QB this year.

I'm not sure how I feel about that. On one hand he is incredibly raw, and needs to tune up his release, mechanics, and accuracy for the NFL... which are all important characteristics.

On the other hand, he does have great intangibles, had a magical run with UCF, and appears to have made a lot of improvements in his pro day. He's a project, but he's a project I believe in. He's a Tannehill-level prospect in my eyes and I wouldn't be surprised if he goes where Tannehill went: 8 overall, this time to the Minnesota Vikings.

I think he has all the tools to be a potential franchise caliber QB. The Texans need a franchise QB - it is their biggest need and Bortles is the BPA. O'Brien can develop Bortles. They brought in Fitzpatrick as a stop gap until they are ready to throw Bortles into the fire.

I fully believe that Manziel will turnout to be the best QB from this year, however, I fully expect Houston to draft Bortles #1 overall. O'Brien is an offensive minded HC and I just don't think too many offensive minded HC's will want Manziel as their QB, he simply doesn't fit their mindset of what a franchise QB looks like. I think Manziel will be drafted by a defensive minded HC who understands how difficult it is to defend a Manziel type QB. So I'm expecting Jacksonville, Cleveland, Tampa Bay and Minny to be fully in love with Manziel.

Fitzpatrick isn't a stopgap. He was brought in because he is an intelligent and experienced quarterback who knows his role. Fitzpatrick was brought in to mentor, not start. Whoever is picked (and I've been saying Bortles since the combine) will start from day one.

I think Cleveland, but because of K.Shanahan, not Pettine.
