Scouts and GMs value height greatly in a QB, and there's a very general correlation between hands span and how tall a QB prospect is.
It's not like the NFL has a history of sub 6 foot QBs with 10+ inch hands being drafted in the first round. Or ever.
Vick fumbles a lot because he runs a lot and doesn't secure the football. Many RBs have less than ideal hand size and don't fumble the football. It's all about ball security for a QB by sensing the pass rush and when to bail out on a play.
