Default RaiderNation's Pre Combine 2014 Mock Draft 2/14

Only a 1st rounder still, a lot will change once the combine is completed.

1 Houston Texans- Teddy Bridgewater QB Louisville*
As of now Bridgewater is the top QB, but Bortles and Manziel are building up steam as the combine creeps up.

2 St. Louis Rams(f/WAS)- Greg Robinson OT Auburn**
I now have Robinson as my #1 OT and adding him to play RT right away will vastly improve the oline plus keep Bradford upright.

3 Jackonsville Jaguars- Jadaveon Clowney DE South Carolina*
It's hard to guess what the Jags will do, if they go Clowney here they can go QB in the 2nd with a talented class.

4 Cleveland Browns- Johnny Manziel QB Texas A&M**
Cleveland is the most erratic NFL franchise and drafting Johnny Football just feels like a match made in heaven.

5 Oakland Raiders- Blake Bortles QB UCF*
I'm a huge fan of Bortles and think he had a legit shot at going #1 overall, and would love to see him in Oakland.

6 Atlanta Falcons- Jake Matthews OT Texas A&M
Matt Ryan will loudly applaud this pick, finally giving him a reliable LT with Matthews who is the safest pick in the draft.

7 Tampa Bay Buccaneers- Anthony Barr OLB UCLA
Tampa has some talent on the dline but speed is a issue and that's where Barr could come in as a outside rusher.

8 Minnesota Vikings- Derek Carr QB Fresno State
The Vikings once again reach for a QB after missing out on the top guys, but Carr will be a better player than Ponder.

9 Buffalo Bills- Khalil Mack OLB Buffalo
Mack falls into Buffalo's laps and they keep the hometown talent to rush the passer in the AFC East.

10 Detroit Lions- Sammy Watkins WR Clemson*
Watkins is a perfect match in Detroit as a possible elite #2 WR next to Calvin Johnson and Stafford hopefully improving.

11 Tennessee Titans- Ha'Sean Clinton-Dix S Alabama*
12 New York Giants- Taylor Lewan OT Michigan
13 St. Louis Rams- Mike Evans WR Texas A&M**
14 Chicago Bears- Kony Ealy DE Missouri*
15 Pittsburgh Steelers- Louis Nix DT Notre Dame*
16 Baltimore Ravens- Marqise Lee WR USC*
17 Dallas Cowboys- Timmy Jernigan DT Florida State*
18 New York Jets- Eric Ebron TE UNC*
19 Miami Dolphins- Cyrus Kouandijo OT Alabama*
20 Arizona Cardinals- Antonio Richardson OT Tennessee*
21 Green Bay Packers- CJ Mosley LB Alabama
22 Philadelphia Eagles- Justin Gilbert CB Oklahoma State
23 Kansas City Chiefs- Stephon Tuitt DE Notre Dame*
24 Cincinnati Bengals- Calvin Pryor S Louisville*
25 San Diego Chargers- Zach Martin OT Notre Dame
26 Cleveland Browns(f/IND)- Kelvin Benjamin WR Florida State**
27 New Orleans Saints- Ryan Shazier LB Ohio State*
28 Carolina Panthers- David Yankey OG Stanford*
29 New England Patriots- Jace Amaro TE Texas Tech*
30 San Francisco 49ers- Bradley Roby CB Ohio State*
31 Denver Broncos- Darqueze Dennard CB Michgan State
32 Seattle Seahawks- Austin Seferian-Jenkins TE Washington*

Just Missed:
Ra'Shede Hageman DT Minnesota
Ryan Shazier LB Ohio State*
Trent Murphy DE Stanford
AJ McCarron QB Alabama
Aaron Donald DT Pittsburgh

NT is a need, but not at 15.

I fully believe the steelers intend on getting ben a WR, probably a tall one

Lee, Ebron, or Benjamin are going to get serious consideration. Pryor, Dennar, Gilbert, Tuitt, or Mosely would be better picks than nix on defense though

I'd be happy with Amaro but missing out on Hageman makes me sad

Saint's don't need a OLB in the first. We have one starting CB, Safety, MLB, no RT,....

Lol I hate to break it to you but odds are you guys will miss out on the top 3 QB's so Carr is a real possibility. Trading down into the teens is what Minnesota should try and do if they target Carr

RaiderNation,

Although I strongly anticipate the Rams trading down from the #2 spot if they do stay they will take Clowney way before Robinson or any other OL.

Also, at #13 I prefer Calvin Pryor although wouldn't be too surprised if Fish didn't go with a corner.

Just not a fan of Evans. We've already got a guy like him in Brian Quick.....

WHAT SAY YE?

I can't see them going DE if the Rams stay at 2, Quinn and Long are both top level players. The simple fact is if Bradford isn't healthy 16 games you guys won't make the playoffs in the NFC West.

Robinson, Matthews or Watkins all have a chance to be the top pick , and also I do think Evans would be a significant upgrade over Brian Quick.

The Tradition continues

I'd be very happy for Cleveland in this draft as I think they get the best QB in this class.
Manziel is sensational. What more could the guy do in 2 years in the SEC?

Obviously would be happy with CJ for my Packers. We've got all kinds of guys like that.... AJ, BJ, already have a CJ. Drafted 2 DJ's in the past couple years.

Packers need a strong defensive draft, along with another pass catcher.

I do agree that Manziel is a rare prospect similar to a RG3 type of player, but like RG3 he can be injury prone with his erratic style of play and size.

Saints will go CB or WR in the first round. I get the strong sense that they might pursue a CB in free agency. If so, CB will be lesser of a need going into draft day though they will still likely go with the BPA at a need position.

If Browns were able to get Shazier or a guard at the top of round 2 this draft would be nuts.

Ugh. Bortles would be a buzz kill. We need players that can make a difference right now...not a guy that maybe possibly potentially be a decent back-up 4 years from now.

Watkins or Mack would be much better uses of our 1st round pick.

10 Detroit Lions- Sammy Watkins WR Clemson*
FYI: the Bills hired Jim Schwartz to run the defense, they have not stated wether they are going back to the 43 or sticking with the 33/34/hybrid, but Schwartz has always been a 43 guy. I dont see them sticking with what worked last year, but rather going to a 43.

That said, Mack made alot of sense before, not so sure now. He could probably play 43 OLB given his skill set, maybe play like Von Miller dropping down to RDE on passing downs... The value is about right, but IMO they woudl take Watkins in that spot, they need to protect and give Manual weapons primarily, and should be what they address either early and often, or often in general.

I have Watkins rated ahead of Mack, and I would believe they would too given the potential scheme change especially.

Mack would not be the draft apocalypse for the Bills though.

Edit: Just watched Marrone's combine press conference, basically stating that they are going to build on last years success, not over haul the D, looks like they will try to keep alot of the concepts in place, while adding some new stuff in, but not over hauling the D, makes me happy, makes sense, and now IMO your mock is more realistic based on that, Watkins or Mack, who ever is rated higher. Good pick either way :)
