Yup. And who doesn't want a Hines Ward on their team? I think one of the teams at the bottom of the first will appreciate his physicality, versatility, and football IQ.

Honestly, the pokemon comparison aren't much less apt than many of the other comparisons made on these boards.

I remember looking at Isaac Bruce's stats once and being totally confused about how he didn't make the Pro Bowl in his second season:

119 catches, 1781 receiving yards, 13 TDs.

And he was St. Louis' only consistently dangerous offensive player. They didn't have another player with even 500 receiving yards that year, and he had Chris Miller and Mark Rypien throwing to him. Gotta be one of the most underrated great individual years of all time.

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to Caulibflower again.
Yeah his career was pretty underrated. 15 catches 210 yards against Miami the last game of the 1995 season, mid-way through the 4th Quarter he took himself out of the game. It was Don Shula's last game as Miami's coach. Game was out of reach and he didn't think it was fair for him to try and break a record with guys who clearly weren't competing on the other side.

Some I've been chewing on for awhile. Comps are inexact/imperfect, a lot of these have more to do with playing style or measurables than career forecasting.

Teddy Bridgewater - Ceiling: Tom Brady w/functional athleticism; Floor: 2011-Present Alex Smith
David Fales - Ceiling: Drew Brees; Floor: Matt Flynn

Sammy Watkins - developed Torrey Smith
Mike Evans - Vincent Jackson
Donte Moncrief - Julio Jones

Seantrel Henderson - Bryant McKinnie (although he probably won't even reach McKinnie at his peak)
Morgan Moses - Marcus McNeil

Dee Ford - Brandon Graham
Khalil Mack - Ahmad Brooks
Ryan Shazier - Sean Taylor playing WLB

Dom Easley - Jay Ratliff
Louis Nix - Vince Wilfork

Around the LOS, Ryan Shazier reminds me of a smaller, faster (young) Junior Seau. Elite athlete with elite penetrating instincts - and hits like a ton of bricks.

Is Mychal Kendricks too obvious of a comparison for Shazier?

Shazier is longer than Kendricks, and I think he has more room to grow - in terms of bulk - but there are definite similarities. I liked Kendricks coming out of Cal. Much as I like Kendricks, though, Shazier makes more plays. But a rich man's Mychal Kendricks? I can buy that.

They have top end speed, but what separates them from a guy like Ernie Simms and Alec Ogletree is their ability to disengage and how effective they are in traffic.

Also, I think Shazier could play in any defense. Not the prototype for a 34 MLB, but neither was timmons, he grew into it and now hes king on the steelers defense. He could also probably play outside in a 34, weakside in a 43....very versatile player

Well said. I think he'd look great in Cleveland next to Dansby actually. Shazier should go higher than he's being talked about. He's one of the most likely players in this draft to be a pro bowler.

He certainly became a lot more interesting at 237 lbs. with his speed than before he gained the weight. Was originally looked upon as too small to be guaranteed success at the next level.

Paul Richardson & Marvin Harrison

Richardson ran a 4.40 at the combine and Harrison ran a 4.38

Same speed, height, and slender build.

I don't see how added wait is going to make Shazier any better of a pro. He, IMO, doesn't have that level of aggression or violence that you need in a top tier LB. Reminds me more of a Keith Rivers. Rivers was 6-2, 241 and ran in the 4.54-4.58 range with 24 reps and a 42 inch vertical. Physical freak, like Shazier. Plays too soft, like Shazier.

I think Campanaro is more Wes Welker, a slot guy with excellant quickness.

While on that theme.

Jeff Janis looks an awful lot like Jordy Nelson, actually runs faster. Needs to work on route running.
