McCain is one hell of an athlete, will probably be used to replace Curtis Brown on ST. Maybe even try out as KR/PR, he was pretty good at it in college and he has 4.3 speedz. Hopefully he is no more than the 5th CB after the draft. Even if he was the next man up after Gay, Shark would still play over him. Low risk, medium reward signing imo.

Heyward-Bey would be OK for vet minimum, would be at most our WR4, and with that speed it might be worth sending him on go-routes every now and again to keep defenses on their toes.

We have to replace Sanders and Cotchery, so Moore and DHB would at least give us the same # of receivers. Even if we do sign him, I expect an early round WR, so he probably wouldn't make the roster. He isn't very good.

I'd rather just give Justin Brown and Derek Moye more meaningful reps

Meh, I'm not too sold on either, to be honest. A lot of Steelers fans are really high on Moye, and it's somewhat inexplicable to me. Maybe it's because he's tall. In any case, he's a #3 if he works out, IMO, but will probably fill out the bottom of the WR depth chart.

He's from Rochester, Pa, which is a half hour from Pittsburgh.

I don't mind the DHB signing due to it being for the vet min and there is no guarantees he makes the roster. I still see a WR high in the draft and a few UDFA. I don't expect them to go double dipping again this year.

By the way, I believe Dennard is the guy in the first round and either Tuitt or Moncrief are the guys in the second. I still have a feeling Tuitt could drop to the third due to durability and production concerns. I wouldn't be too sad about it.

DHB will be at best the 4th WR, he'll see about as much playing time as Wheaton did last year...not much. He'll be more than serviceable in that role.

He dropped 9.4% of his targets, its not good, but it's not as bad as some people are making out.

Yeah, it's not Ike Taylor playing WR, but still, it's not something to get excited about either.

You're right, he'll be the 4th WR assuming we don't add a rookie, which I'm sure we will.

One guy who will likely not be considered by us, but who I really like, is S Calvin Pryor.

Actually reminds me a bit of Polamalu. Plays much bigger than he is, big hitter, and always seems to make a play.

I'll be working on a mock soon.

After what he did today I don't want him. Has elite potential but a two cent head. If we hit on him, good for us. But I am not holding my breath.

As big a project player as you can get, literally. Huge size, great athleticism, but a questionable (at best) work ethic.

Raw-er, riskier Mike Adams, but you won't need a second rounder for him. Probably 5th round+

What do you guys feel about a trade down pick up an extra 2nd maybe more and taking Dee Ford at the end of the 1st ...

Olb needs depth and worilds still hasn't signed a long term deal

9ers want to trade up for dennard , Benjamin, or a safety to pair with Reid

1st , 2nd , 3rd

1 - Dee Ford
2 - Stephon tuitt
2 - devante Adams / Paul Richardson / moncrief
3 - Pierre desir
3 - Phillip Gaines
4 - Aaron colvin
5 -
5 -
6 -
6 -
7 -

Fill in the blank ... I doubt they go 3 straight CBs but they probably should colvin won't make it out of the 4th too much value for next year

9ers want to trade up for dennard , Benjamin, or a safety to pair with Reid

1st , 2nd , 3rd

1 - Dee Ford
2 - Stephon tuitt
2 - devante Adams / Paul Richardson / moncrief
3 - Pierre desir
3 - Phillip Gaines
4 - Aaron colvin
5 -
5 -
6 -
6 -
7 -

Fill in the blank ... I doubt they go 3 straight CBs but they probably should colvin won't make it out of the 4th too much value for next year
that would be super duper.

id honestly take dee ford over dennard at 15

latest mocks ive been seeing dont have many, if any, qb's going before us... which sucks.

that could either put us in a better position to trade back for someone antsy to grab a qb or make us "reach" for a player like a dee ford.

If the top two corners and WRs are off the board by 15 and we can't trade down, I'd rather just go with Brandin Cooks, Kyle Fuller or CJ Mosley.

im tired of midget wide receiversssssssss

mosley is obviously solid

fuller would be okay, i think its the worst of the value but i think he'll be an okay player.

hes so skinny and the way he hits i'm afraid he's going to get hurt though.
