I would see if Martin can play RG. Let him compete with Snee. I think Martin and Pugh next to each other would make a great right side of the OL.

I'm not a big fan of drafting players to not play the position they did in college. Did Martin every play G in school?

Or is this more of, we don't know if we can rely on Beatty, so we need someone who can play T, but also go somewhere else if Beatty is fine.

I think Zack Martin is a more polished version of Justin Pugh and exactly the type of lineman we like

I still find myself giving this question:

If we do not draft a passrusher, will all of our offseason additions on defense be somewhat for naught? No passrush is death to any defense. If it were possible to draft Anthony Barr or go all out for Clowney, would you and use a later pick on a less heralded OL?

I think I would rather see this:

1. Anthony Barr OLB UCLA
2. Cyrus Kouandjio OL Alabama

than

1. Taylor Lewan OT Michigan
2. Demarcus Lawrence/Dee Ford

I think Anthony Barr is definitely on our draft radar.

Firstly he seems like a Reese type of guy.

Secondly we went out if our usual trends when tried to sign O'Brien Schofield very early in free agency. Schofield is an athletic pass rusher and Barr is a similar style of player. It could be there is a definite plan there.

Art Stapletonț@art_stapleton·49 secs
If OL they like isn't there + Ha Ha is ranked higher on their board than Ebron, could see it

Pete Damilatisț@PFF_Pete
JR drafts a year ahead, and Cooper Taylor is the only S under contract past 2014. HHCD makes sense at 12.

Art Stapletonț@art_stapleton·6 mins
Would not be shocked if Ha Ha is on #NYG board, not when you assess S position beyond 2014

Pete Damilatisț@PFF_Pete·10 mins
I can't see Ha Ha Clinton-Dix falling past the Giants-Rams-Bears gauntlet at picks 12-14.

Pete Damilatisț@PFF_Pete·4 mins
Giants have bigger immediate needs than S, but Jerry Reese always drafts for next yr. If Evans & Donald are gone, HHCD fits

Q-I can't imagine Ha Ha being BPA ahead of Matthews, Lewan, Donald, or Martin?"

Art Stapletonț@art_stapleton·4 mins
All could be gone by 12

I'd rather go Jimmie Ward round 2, or even "reach" for Calvin Pryor. Not a big fan of Ha Ha, but I guess if Mike Evans and Donald are gone it's not a horrible pick

Honestly, I don't like any of the safeties in this draft that high or in the first at all. Drafting by need may help short-term, but you don't pass on a player with elite potential for that.

Jimmie Ward in the 2nd would be ideal. He's a great cover Safety who can make plays on the ball and isn't afraid to come up and make plays in the run game. He's the guy I want if we are drafting a safety. He could fall to our 2nd round pick, but he shouldn't

I feel like there hasn't been a really good stud safety since Earl Thomas. I liked Vaccarro a lot and know he had a good year but I'm not sure if he'll be a stud.

Give me a pre-knee injury Kenny or an Earl Thomas who can just go back, play centerfield, and make up for anyone's mistakes in coverage.

Yeah, long term stability of a lot of the team is in the air. Rolle could be his last year, Brown is on a 1 year deal, Will Hill could be gone. So, if we draft with the long term in mind, then I can see a safety being drafted. That JPP or Pugh type pick, which no one projects.

Eric Ried looked real good this past year too, would've loved to have gotten him. If that's the type of safety you want though, look at Jimmie Ward

We were hot for Eric Reid last year. Safety is definitely on our mind. I'd be happy with Haha in the 1st or Bucannon in the 2nd.

I also like Vinny Sunseri as a sleeper pick in the 5th.

Yeah, for some reason Reece wants a Leo. Echos of his LB/DE tweener phase. Are we moving towards a Seahawks scheme? I wonder if Dee Ford couldbe used as a Leo?

It would be awesome if Mack got with in range and we moved up for him. He'd be perfect for that.

I want to see where Ebron goes. I still think, if the OL guys, aren't there that he would be a good pick. I still feel strongly about Martin though.

Hard to trust this stuff but someone on our board posted some rumors per walters-
4/29: Zack Martin is the most likely pick for the Giants at No. 12, according to Jordan Raanan, Newark Star-Ledger. "Word on the street is that the Giants prefer Martin to Lewan." Eric Ebron is not listed as one of the 10 most likely picks

I think Zach Martin has as much as a chance as Donald as being the selection. In the end I think we get an offer we can't refuse and trade back. It's in our best interest to acquire more picks anyway.

Unless its complete misdirection, Martin is looking more and more like the pick unless someone unexpected falls.
