Default Worst Drafts of All Time?

Here's one candidate, 49ers class of 2012:

Last year, these players offered a combined 101 total snaps, with all but James (who's on the trade block), Looney, and Fleming still on roster.

Buffalo Bills 2000 draft. Thank god for Sammy Morris. Polk was a decent special teamer. The rest sucked.

Oh this is easy... 2005 Vikings Draft. In parentheses is the years they played for the Vikings.

1.7 Troy Williamson, WR, South Carolina (2005-2007)
1.8 Erasmus James, DE, Wisconsin (2005-2007)
2.49 Marcus Johnson, OT, Ole Miss (2005-2008)
3.80 Dustin Fox, CB, Ohio State (2005)
4.112 Ciatrick Fason, RB, Florida (2005-2006)
6.191 C.J. Mosley, DT, Missouri (2005)
7.219 Adrian Ward, CB, UTEP (Didn't make the team)

None of these players didn't last longer than four years with the Vikings and only one is still on a roster in the NFL.

2012 solely based on Brandon Weeden.

Its kind of shocking to see that. When teams win its really easy to just ignore when they completely blow a draft.

Drew Haddad! The only University at Buffalo player to bounce around the league for a good while.

Leif Larsen, the viking boxer taken just before Tom Brady. Another personal favorite.

The greatest thing of all, about those TWO top-20 picks, is that I know a great Viking fan friend of mine, who was preaching ahead of the draft to PLEASE take DeMarcus Ware at #7.
And then during the draft as Rodgers was falling, he was begging for them to take Rodgers at #18 because he felt that Culpepper was A) way overrated and B) a locker-room cancer.

He was quickly proven to be correct.

The fact that the 49ers have had TWO drafts that horrible, and they're still the overall best NFC team the past 3 seasons, is remarkable.

Shows how good their health has been with their recent top picks and how smart they were adding solid Free Agents.

The Bengals of 2007 wasn't that bad as they got Hall and Ndukwe was decent for a while.

As for the 2012 49ers draft... terrible.

It helps that Baalke landed 10 significant contributors in 2010 and 2011.

That Lamichael James pick was bad. He just isn't a special runner and got drafted too high. He was a luxury pick and busted so far.

Rumor has always been that Baalke allows the Head Coach really go in for "his guy" in Round Two.

If that's true...

Singletary - Taylor Mays
Harbaugh - Colin Kaepernick | LaMichael James | Tank Carradine | Vance McDonald

I don't think Carradine was a Harbaugh pick. But it has been widely reported that Harbaugh wanted Kaepernick and James.

There were witness reports of Baalke being pissed that Singletary demanded Mays in 2010.

The Eagles have had one savoir in both the 2010 and 2011 drafts to make them total busts but I submit the lovely 1993 Eagles draft

RD SEL # PLAYER POSITION SCHOOL
1 19 Lester Holmes G Jackson State
1 24 Leonard Renfro DT Colorado
2 50 Victor Bailey WR Missouri
3 75 Derrick Frazier CB Texas A&M
3 77 Mike Reid DB North Carolina State
6 163 Derrick Oden LB Alabama
7 190 Joey Mickey TE Oklahoma
8 217 Doug Skene G Michigan

5 top 100 picks after 4 seasons not one of these players were on the team and only Lester Holmes played more then 5 seasons. This right here mixed with the death of Brown and departure of White earlier set the Eagles back for years.

1982 Buccaneers NFL draft. Not only were all of the players awful they traded the 1983 first round pick to draft Booker Reese because of a bad phone connection.

3 19 74 Jerry Bell Tight End Arizona State

4 20 103 Dave Barrett Running Back Houston

1999 Bengals draft:

1-3- Akili Smith QB Oregon
2-33- Charles Fisher CB WV
3-65- Cory Hall SS Fresno State
4-98- Craig Yeast WR Kentucky
5-135- Nick Luchey - FB - Miami
6-173- Kelly Gregg - DT Oklahoma
7-209- Tony Coates - OL - Washington
7-245- Scott Covington - QB - Miami
7-249- Scott Broomfield - DT - Clemson

Fisher was injured right from the get go and had no chance. Gregg was the only descent player but only after he was cut and singed with the Ravens i believe.

And to top it off this was the draft where Mike Brown took Smith instead of trading the pick to NO for their whole draft. Of course, had he done that we probably would have 5 or 6 more no names on here.
