Hardy and Ramses Barden got my hard with that. I was sure that I was watching the next Plax when I watched Barden tear his lower level comp apart with his sneaky speed while just tossing guys around as a blocker and against the jam. I think it was CCSD who was hte only one who loved Barden as much as I did. I was almost as excited by that pick as I was the Nicks pick the day before, and I loved the **** out of Nicks.

Having one good year in the NFL doesn't mean you still can't be a bust. We see one year wonders all the time in sports. Even scrubs can have a single good year.
Not everyone can be as hypothetically consistent as Brandon Graham.

In 2008, I thought that the Broncos would be the next NFL Dynasty.

They had a loaded offense, they just needed to get the D together.

They had Cutler, B-Marsh, Eddie Royal, Tony Scheffler, Ryan Clady, Ryan Harris, Chris Kuper, Ryan Torain (thought he would be the next late-round Shanahan RB steal), and Peyton Hillis (thought that he would be a great FB).

I was convinced Everette Brown was going to be a beast pass rusher.

I honestly thought that offense was set for the next 7 years. Cutler was developing nicely with a nice young core of talented players and he had great chemistry with Marshal and Scheffler. And then McDaniels just submarines the whole thing in a hurry. Him being a double agent to dismantle the Broncos is a legit theory in my mind.

One first-round pick I thought would be really good and wasn't at each position:

QB: Vince Young
RB: Beanie Wells
WR: Mike Williams
TE: N/A
OT: Robert Gallery
OG: Danny Watkins
OC: N/A
DT: Adam Carriker
DE: Larry English
LB: Bobby Carpenter
CB: Antoine Cason
DB: Brandon Meriweather

I remember when Skip Bayless's hero was drafted. I said that he had to be like Steve Young, or the pick would be a mistake. He wasn't, and he probably never will be, although he wants to still play.

Another unit that I thought would be great, though, was Arizona's D-line from 1998, when they had Wadsworth, Eric Swann, Mark Smith, and Simeon Rice. With that, and QB Jake Plummer, I thought that the Cardinals would be contenders for years.

I also thought that the Ravens would repeat in 2001, and that the Pats would be a one-hit wonder after their first SB title.

I was on the Everette Brown wagon.

Loved Josh Reed.

I was sure a few Noles that busted were going to be bigtime guys.

My biggest miss in recent memory was referring to Von Miller as a more athletic Tully Banta Cain. I thought he would struggle at the point of attack and would have to run around OTs in the pass game

Yeah but see, if Pierre Paul has another bad year this season, he's officially a bust. You don't take a guy in the first round with the expectation of only one good year of production.

I was expecting Ted Ginn to basically be the type of player Desean Jackson is in the NFL.
