In regard to the Manziel pick, you mentioned that there isn't going to be any gray area. With QB's in general, this is the case. Either you have a guy who can win in the playoffs, or you don't. I guess guys like Alex Smith and Matt Ryan can be considered players who fall into that gray area, but practically speaking, they aren't guys you're happy with. Speaking of young QB's, you want guys like Cam Newton, Russell Wilson, Colin Kaepernick, Andrew Luck. Wilson or Kaepernick could have gone either way, but each had the physical tools to excel if they careers took the right trajectory. I see Manziel the same way. If things fall into place, he has the athletic traits to win in the playoffs. What you don't want as a franchise is one of these QB's who do fall in this gray area (which I see as black, rather than gray), where they're just good enough to contend for playoff spots, just good enough keep you out of the top 10 and from drafting their replacements. It's the reason Harbaugh moved on from Smith to Kaepernick.
