What the **** Petrino?
Wanna give the balls to our playmakers?
Today
Dunn: 23 touches
Norwood: 4
Dunn: 28 touches
Norwood: 6
What the hell is up with that?

No way its all a plot to win coach of the year award. He knows the team is okay, not this bad. So he figures, I get a top 5 pick, then next year, I give the ball to the actual playmakers that can win the game. Boom, then the record become 8-8, 9-7, from a this years record of 3-13. That is a drastic improvement, Boom, instant Coach of the Year.

Meh. He was 26 for 89, which is 3.4 YPC. Add into the fact that he broke off a 30 yarder as well.

Why does everyone love Jerious Norwood so much? What has he ever done to be called a "playmaker"? What makes him different than say Leon Washington?

At the very very least, he is a helluva lot faster than Warrick Dunn. If you are going to run a sweeep, why not use someone much faster.

after i saw that 4th and 1 replay, it would have been a homerun had we faked a sweep and bootlegged or ran it the other way. the entire bucs defense committed to the weak side.
damn, today really hurt.

Because Jerious Norwood is a threat to take it for 6 everytime he touches the ball? Because he makes guys miss almost every time (like today's game. Leftwich threw the ball to him and a defender was RIGHT there, but he avoided him, got tackled 2-3 yards later, and still got some extra yards while being tackled)
And serious? What has he ever done to be called a playmaker? He averaged 6.4 yards as a rookie on 99 carries. He is averaging 6 yards a carry right now. With the 150 carries he has, he already has 3 runs over 65 yards. Give the ball to him 10 times, and I can guarantee you he will get 2-3 runs of 10+ yards.
And Leon Washington sucks at being a RB. He is a great kickoff returner, but I dont know if he is tough enough to handle being a NFL RB. He averaged 4.3 yards a carry as a rookie and is averaging 3.3 right now.
You are supposed to feed your playmakers. Remember the Randy Ratio? See how many times LT touches the ball per game? See how NO makes plays designed specifically to get the ball to Reggie Bush? See how well the Panthers did when Delhomme could get the ball to Smith?
I am not saying that Norwood is as good as those guys (except Bush), but he is the guy who the defenses are afraid of. One of the announcers today asked opposing DC's who they fear the most from the Falcons. The answer? Jerious Norwood.

This is an offense with not a lot of talent on it. Be patient with Petrino. Atlanta will eventually be a winner it just takes time to build through the draft and such. And this is coming from a Bucs fan. Good game today.

It's fairly obvious we don't have a good offense. It's just we have a chance to do so many other things there.
1. Run the same play with a faster back
2. Let big ol' 6'5 250 Bryon Leftwich fall foward
3. Have a crushing Ovie Mughelli run up the middle

I agree, but
1. Its not completely talentless. It has some a couple of guys who could exploit, at one point or another, a defense or create a mismatch. Norwood and White are those guys right now. CREATE ****ING PLAYS FOR THEM! Give more than 4 touches to Norwood. Give him more sweeps. Line him up at wide. Get him on a screen pass. White is a terrific deep threat, and has made amazing catches with guys glued on him. Have a couple of plays where White just goes deep and you just chuck it to him. Our OL protection wasnt even THAT bad this game. This could have happened if fat ol Byron didnt take FOREVER in the pocket.
2. Basically what ATLDirtyBirds said. Ive liked the playcalling alot more than Knapp's, but come on. Its 4th and 1. How hard is it? We also couldnt get a TD in Tennessee where it was 1st and 1 on the 1. And had we gotten that, we could have won or at least tied.

One of the most frustrating games ever. Norwood having that few of touches is rediculious. I understand keeping a homerun hitter fresh, but he will still be fresh with 10 offensive touches a game.
