Will Brees break 5,000?
He needs about 326 yards a game to hit 5,000.
His remaining games are the Redskins, Giants, and Panthers.

I wouldnt say its impossible.its definetely possible especially with NOs pass happy offense with tagets Horn,Colston,Bush, and Henderson.
But the consistency would be hard to keep up.

Hes gonna break it with the schedule that he has. Giants, and Redskins secondary sucks.

Possible, but I doubt it. If he does though that will make the MVP choice very interesting indeed...

Tomlinson would still probably win it. But, breaking Marino's passing yardage record is more impressive than breaking a record that has been broken about 5 times in the last 10 years. Tomlinson has had a hell of a year, but the single season TD record is broken far too often to be considered all that prestigious.

My thoughts exactly, if he were to break the 5,000 yard mark I think he should win it, as long as LT doesn't break Shauns record by over 5 TD's. In the forum of most sacred records that people didn't think would be broken one person said Dan's 5,000 yard season, so we will see what happens.

I agree. But you're right that LT will probably still win MVP. Brees will win Offensive Player of the Year.

No.
They'll clinch, so he'll be sat for a portion of time.

If they clinch he won't. I doubt he'll keep it up for that long.

Yes, i think it's possible just look what he's at right now 4033 he's on track to get 5,000 with what is it three games left. If he does get 5,000 that means he has to be a lock for OPOY.

Every single pass defense he has on his schedule is really bad, especially Carolina and Washington. He will get it before week 17 :D

Carolina probably had one of the worst showing in a secondary in my recent memory on sunday. They had gamble and lucas both out before the game and then someone got hurt in game. So they were playing with a rookie, some scrubs, and mike minter playing some corner. This bodes well for Drew Brees.

Well he'll likely throw for 500+ against the Giants secondary....so the question is, can he muster up 500 yards in his other 2 games.

I don't think the question is whether or not Brees is capable of putting up enough yards, but rather if the games are close enough that Brees will still be throwing the ball in the 2nd half.

I hope that he gets it, but I don't see it happening. 326 a game is hard to pull off. Not only does he have to perform to get 326 a game, but so does his O-Line and receivers and of course Reggie Bush. I say around 4850 for Brees this season.

No, I think he'll get 4,600 and when the Saints clinch the 2nd seed...he'll sit out the final game.
Unless the Saints get down and start losing in their next few games...then he might have to chuck it.
