I liked Bowe and Meacham a lot, but I'm not ticked at the Griffin pick. He looks like he'll be a good one. It's Henry in the 2nd that looks like it hurt our WR core more based on who we picked instead and who was left at WR.
Oh well, maybe we'll fix it this year....but the Titans have only drafted a WR in either the 1st or 2nd round twice in ten years. That might be the lowest in the league.

We could have gotten Henry in the fifth. There was no way was worthy of a first day pick.

There was a lot of interest in Chris Henry, apparently. The Titans RB coach practically had a mangasm when talking about CHen.
And yeah, we picked Kevin Dyson in the 1st RD (Over Randy Moss, in fact), and Tyrone Calico in the 2nd RD. Both were busts.

Right. We just haven't invested much in the position. It is maybe the biggest bust position for the first round, but how good has our luck been with mid round guys and FA's? Bad.
I'd rather trade a high pick for a proven guy, but again, that's not an easy thing to accomplish either. If we can't trade for a better WR than what we have, then drafting one high again looks like the best hope for bettering the squad.

I think a huge factor was Deuce McAllister's abrupt end to his season in Week 3, which really forced Payton's hand into seeing if Reggie Bush was able to be a true featured rusher, which was a role he was not ready for.. and they did not develop enough trust in Stecker, and Pierre Thomas to give them extensive carries until it was too late. (one of the biggest mistakes, Pierre Thomas should have seen a much increased work load much earlier in the season than Week 17)
I'm not quite ready to give up on Bush as a running back yet, but at this point he definitely is much more of a threat as an All-Purpose specialty type player.

Anyone think that Chow could take one of the 3+ open HC jobs? Baltimore Atlanta Redskins (Colts?) specially since Garrett is now off the market?

No, he didn't have enough time in the NFL yet, and apparently he isn't a very good X's and O's guy, but a great mentor. Probably a career OC or maybe some HC's in college.

I doubt it. I think he doesn't make it out of the 3rd round, possibly before our choice in the 3rd. So if you really want a guy and feel he won't last until your next pick, you may as well take him when you can.
There was another RB who had a hugely impressive workout like Henry - Battle I think? He also had a lot of college production. Well, a lot more than Henry. He went undrafted. Henry, if we weren't interested, was *not* going to be undrafted. So why would he with so little college play not go undrafted but somebody almost equally as impressive workout wise but with production to boot go undrafted? Henry clearly has something that NFL scouts think can be special and I really doubt he was going to be a 2nd day pick - if we want him enough to take him in the 2nd, I think at least one of the other 31 teams wants him enough to take him in the 3rd, if not later on in the 2nd.
