For all the talk about UT and that they were gonna suck and yadda yadda yadda, they've only had one real BAD loss and that was the UCLA game.

It's funny, a couple people actually predicted Mallet's good season.

And I predicted his lousy accuracy. Yay me!

I think if UT and UCLA played again right now Tennessee would win, but maybe that's just me buying into the UT hype!

It's a puzzlement. The team Florida wants is Alabama, the consensus among the media is the real NC game is the SEC Championship. Some think Florida repeating a foregone conclusion, God knows the Conference is overly forgiving for anything they do, authorizing the Spikes half game suspension vs Vanderbilt. Vanderbilt? Yeah, the Commodores can run up a big lead on the Gators without Spikes out there, give me a freaking break.

There is this belief that whoever wins the SECCG will walk over the NC game opponent, probably Texas.

As a Bama fan the team I want is Texas, but I'm weird that way. To get to Texas they have to win the SECCG. Probably against Florida.

Right now LSU is a major worry, they're a formidable opponent. And they're motivated: if they win in Bryant Denny Saturday they're a 99% fave to go to the SECCG.

And the Tide offense has been < a steamroller lately with McElroy's slumping. I'm hoping they used the idle wk. for Saban to pull another rabbit out of his hat, they can't go into this game like they did preparing for Florida in the CG last yr, adjustments need to be made, primarily to get the ball to Julio, they can't remain offensively predictable like last yr.

Best asset is the Tide defense who bailed them out bigtime vs Tennessee with 2 blocked FGs. You have to admit, the Vols got the breaks they needed when they needed them most in the late 4th qtr, it's a fair amount of dumb luck getting the precise bounce on an onside kick for the kicking team to recover. Tennessee made their own break when Berry stripped the ball from Ingram, not easily done as he had never fumbled this yr prior to that.

Whoever Bama plays has to find an answer for that defense, nobody has yet this yr.

Whatever happened to Urban Meyer saying he'd get John Brantley some signifigant snaps this year? I think John Brantley is going to be a beast

Steve Addazio happened. They have to play Tebow all four quarters just to win games this year.

I definitely believe in Brantley, and think Steve will be better at using more a more traditional talent like John than Tim.

Well, Brantley has gotten some time, but he'll get his chance next season. I think the offense we have no could flourish as a pro-style spread, like New England's. The running backs run out of the shotgun still, and there are a lot of RB screens. However, the receivers aren't big play in space guys right now, and that seems to be the problem with the offense.

However, I am very excited to see the combo of Brantley to Debose next year, he should get immediate action and I expect big things from him. I don't want him to be the next Percy, though, because we don't need him to run. I want him to put up all of those gaudy numbers at WR.

Thank you for the correction. I'm not a Florida guy so I wasn't aware.

The only two guys on Florida I really like to follow are Brantley and Jelani Jenkins(went to HS near where I grew up)

I'm expecting a huge game for Garcia against Arkansas this week. Top two passers in yardage in the SEC, should be fun. We're going to need a big game from him also...considering we're down two more players on the defense. Two more stars, at that, in Chris Culliver and Cliff Matthews.

It's cool, and if you can expect to see Jenkins play a major role next year too, for what it's worth.

Jenkins should be a stud. I think Debose has been a little bit overhyped, but I still can't wait to see him out there. Really looking forward to more Will Hill playing time. He's going to be a beast.

Is Iowa a lock for the Rose Bowl yet? IDTS. If Alabama loses to LSU Saturday they're looking at Iowa in the Cotton or Sugar Bowl.

If (ahhh, when) Iowa loses to Ohio St. they get the SECCG loser in the Cotton or Sugar.

Now that USC has 2 losses it looks like Iowa will be the 1-loss team consolation bowl opponent. I somehow don't think there will be another Utahlike WAC/Mtn. West matchup with an SEC team. TCU is the red-hot BCS buster right now, I'm watching them to see if they get their shot or not.

The Cotton Bowl is Big 12 vs SEC, not Big 10 vs SEC.

The Outback Bowl pits SEC/Big 10, and I think the Capitol One Bowl does as well.

Default LSU @ Alabama

Sorry I left the game day thread, my PC connection went kerflooey. Watched the game that so exasperating I wanted to turn it off.

It was a stupid call, should have been an INT, there were awful calls all day. LSU probably felt they got jobbed as the visitors do, it was the total no. of penalties that did the real damage.

Could Bama's defense stop them after that bogus call that was a turnover? Probably, LSU had so many injuries to their offensive skill players by that point I don't think they could've retaken the lead.

Julio Jones, the only bright moment of turning a miserable game around. He scores a 73-yd TD almost all of them RAC yds, & just one play after he effed up badly as the 12th man in the huddle, their 2nd 12th man illegal procedure penalty, & Saban went ballistic. There was a 12th man call on LSU earlier too.

If there was one play that did for Bama's defense it was the Nico Johnson sack on Jefferson. 2nd game their defense bailed out the offense, who made enough mistakes to lose 3-4 games, got a safety on them with a grounding call, just inexcusable. I think McElroy set a personal worst rcd. for overthrowing wide open receivers. And there was a major coaching error, they kept with the shotgun & throwing on 1st down even when it clearly wasn't working & Julio was covered like a blanket. When they finally started running they controlled the clock & milked > 6 mins. in the crucial late 4th qtr.

Ingram came up big with >100 yds. again & has to be the Heisman frontrunner now. He's on pace to break Bobby Humphrey's Bama school rushing rcd. next yr, which will be his jr. yr.

You can tell Saban learned as a Bellichick disciple, all his postgame statements about how well Bama played in all aspects of the game had absolutely nothing to do with reality. The defense, maybe. The FG unit yeah, Tiffin set the school scoring rcd. Saturday. But McElroy & their offense did not look anything like a national championship contender. They're going to have to do a lot better on offense if they expect to beat the Gators in the SECCG.

Hold on now. Why aren't you bitching about the bad refs, or how Alabama is a team of cheaters? Oh, is it maybe because your team was the beneficiary? Well now you just look like a hypocrite. I want to see a thread started about how Alabama cheated and is still in the top 5. The refs blatantly missed a call against that Alabama defensive lineman who shoved his hand into Lyle Hitt's facemask, they ****** up the call on the INT, among other things.

So let's see that thread, crusader of college football justice.

So let's see that thread, crusader of college football justice.

Hahaha, classic case of hypocrisy.

Had that been Florida instead of Alabama there would of been a new thread about the refs being attrocious, paid off, among other things. LOL. Who didn't see that coming though.

I said it should have been an INT. I smell Florida fans drunk on sour grapes. You attack the poster b/c your position on Florida is indefensible.

I would love a crusade to clean up SEC officiating but I don't think Florida would support me.

Julio didn't grab any defenders jerseys on his TD catch & run. There were no phantom PF calls on LSU. And whaddya know, there were no eye gougings. Can Florida make that same claim?

Let's start that thread after Alabama is the beneficiary of 4 consecutive games of flags falling on their opponents. What other team has been so blessed? They play in Percy Land.

Shall we continue to list the blessings of Florida Favortism, you opened up the can. Throwing rocks from a glass house is unadvisable.

Those bad calls decided the game in Alabama's favor. I'm not asking for a comparison of the teams, I'm asking for a thread where you ***** that Alabama won because they cheated, because there were uncalled penalties and missed calls in their favor all game, and you've been pissing and moaning about that with Florida for a long time now. So let's ******* see the thread, or you'll continue to sound like a hypocrite.

I hope Florida tries the eye gouging & jersey grabbing in the SECCG. Your team is under the microscope all season, not mine.

This is the SEC thread -- note the title. God I love bagging you homers.

Typical evasive response, then insult of Florida. It's like your posts have some kind of formula. And your topics just include insults of Florida.
