I pretty sure TD just wanted to get Trufant so bad there was absolutely no way he'd stay at 30 and risk it. Just the fact that he selected him makes this draft successful.
When the Chargers GM talked about trading up for T'eo he said there is no worse feeling than having your guy selected one or two picks before you. It's worth trading up because you never know.

Does anyone believe TD will trade the world next season to get Clowney? We may be the only team is history to trade up 31 spots in the first round. Its not out of question.

Anything is possible this day and age since the rookie wage scale was put in place. But I cant see us doing it b/c the price for the #1 or #2 pick is going to cost a fortune, especially from the 30s.
First I dont think anyone would picking that high would want to drop that far b/c they need an elite player and 2 the cost would prolly be 2 future firsts, 2 future 2nds and probably more. Granted he is a once in a decade type player but I just dont think it would be possible from our position.
I think a more realistic view would be to land Tuitt from ND. He would have been the best DE had he been able to come out this year and is a very great player, it just so happens Clowney is Superhuman.

No way in hell do we get Clowney. To move from three to one to get him would be costly. From thirty, it's essentially impossible.

sad but true. Im really hoping a guy like Van Noy falls to mid 20s. He is such a baller.

I was just thinking/looking and I wonder how much the lack of success for Chris Owens/Chevis Jackson resulted in the emphasis at CB. Meanwhile, other third round picks under TD have been pretty successful between DeCoud, Harry Douglas, Mike Johnson, and Corey Peters. Holmes looks to be a good pick if we are confident in him. The only non-corner we whiffed on in round three was Dent, who still starts.

Thats a good point. While none of these guys have been amazing, Most have contributed a ton (Mainly DeCoud, HD, Peters) exactly what you look for out of a 3rd rounder, DeCoud has probably been the best of the bunch so lets hope this streak continues.

Who starts at RG and RT between Reynolds, Hawley, Mike Johnson, and Lamar Holmes?
Seems to me RG will be the real spot of competition. Reynolds is the guy for the job IMO.

Reynolds did well before he was hurt, and Hawley is at least experienced. But Hawley cant play tackle and the other 2 are inexperienced. So if it was me id put Hawley at G and Reynolds at T.
