You're inventing a scenario that is not the one described in the facebook status. I'm assuming from the facebook status that the dog was not just lying in the road or some ****. The other issue is the fact that the douchebag sped off and bragged about it. No matter if the dog was stupid, the humane thing to do would be to stop and see what happened.

Do you have a funeral for a squirrel if you run it over? The guy is a d-bag for bragging about killing the dog but if it was unintentional nothing he can really do about it. The owners should have had it on a leash.

First, let me just say that I completely agree with TitanHope.

But for the sake of argument . . .

Just about every state in the union has laws against hit and run when a dog is involved. It's never the driver's fault, but the courteous, non-douchenozzle thing to do is report the accident. That way Animal Control can respond and deal with it, hopefully resulting in as pain & suffering free an existence as possible for the animal after it has been struck.

Most states also allow the vehicle owner to go after the animal owner for any damages to the vehicle. This is because most states / cities / towns have leash laws that should prevent ol' Fido from being in the road in the first place.

Any driver who just leaves is an ignorant ass, regardless of the circumstances. But the combination of knowledge, compassion, responsibility and personal accountability is pretty tough to find in the average person these days. Lacking any reasonable combination of these qualities is what leads to a dicksmoking jackhole like Mike claiming to have "smoked that ************."

You say it like you are going to come stalk and kill me like a I know what you did last summer movie. I would stop because I know I would get into trouble but doesn't mean I would want to stop. It would take so long to do all the paper work and deal with the cops. A dog doesn't have a shot

You might wanna stop if you hit a person. That's pretty common sense. Either way you're going to get caught.

As far as the dog, both parties are wrong. Captain Dickhead should've stopped, but careless dog owner shouldn't have allowed her dog in the street. Leash law or not, dogs in streets don't usually end well.

I swear it seems like we have a bunch of PETA members on this site. Its a dog.

Yea that is what I am saying. I would def stop if I hit a person but I wouldn't want to because of all the ******** I would have to go through but if I hit an animal I could care less. Not that I hate animals I just don't care for any animals other than my own.

Yea I mean I would hope they were ok and all I just think about if I hit someone all the time all the **** I would have to go through.
