I don't think this was mentioned but J.K. Rowling will be making a Harry Potter encyclopedia that will go into depth about the different wizarding familes and everything else. Apparently Dean Thomas has quite a big history but it was all left out of the book. Also, Arthur Weasley was supposed to die in OOTP but Rowling gave him a reprieve. She will also go into detail about the future of Potter and such.

Its all about the money. You don't think she could have put that stuff in this book?

Well she's already a billionaire so I'm not sure how much about the money it is. I don't think she wanted to make the books too too long.

I think it's more about product control than money. You that eventually the publishers are going to push prequels or sequels, and without seeing the contracts, you can't guess where the intellectual rights lie. If she clearly spells out the Potter universe now, no one will hijack her characters and write their own stories.

She said that all proceeds from the encyclopedia would go to charity. Also, she's rich enough that money is likely of little importance to her.

just read it and i think it was the best out of all of them. but throughout the book i kept looking at how many pages i had left, and was realizing there were no more books to the story, kinda sad.

Overall I loved the book. For such an anticipated book for such a successful series, I was impressed at the job JK Rowling did in closing the Harry Potter series. Of course, there were some parts I did not particularly like.

SPOILER ALERT

Things I didn't like:

1. The King's Cross chapter. I thought it was kind of a cop-out by JK to just explain loads of loose ends by inserting Dumbledore in Harry's limbo world.

2. The Epilogue. It was a let down. Either she should have made the epilogue really short.. or much longer. Instead, it was a tweener that kinda disappointed me.

3. I hate Harry vs. Voldy scene. For a wizard with such "skill", all voldemort ever did was that stupid avada kedavra killing curse. I wanted a longer fighting scene (similar to the Dumbledore/Voldemort fight in HP5).

Things I liked:

1. Snape's memory: This was PERFECT. While it may have been obvious to some, I had never expected it... After killing Dumbledore and numerous mentionings of him as a Death Eater, blowing off George's ear, etc, finding out that he was a spy the whole time (and how it fit memory by memory all due to Lily) was fantastic!

2. Dumbledore's past was a great addition. Grindelwaldd subplot was well done along with his whole family situation. I liked it a lot.

3. I enjoyed the mystery of the Deathly Hallows. I thought the whole series was going to be banked on the horcruxes, but I'm glad that JK put in stuff liek the Deathly Hallows.

4. Mrs. Weasly saying... "DON'T TOUCH MY DAUGHTER YOU *****" LOL

Question:

1.I don't really know why the series is called Harry Potter and the DEATHLY HALLOWS... they werren't really introduced til in the middle of the book and in the end, Harry chose not to seek the ownership of the Deathly Hallows, rite?

No worries man, go right ahead. Enough people have already put spoilers up and way back someone said that everything was free game from that time onward.

The book is as much about Dumbledore as it is about Harry, and much of Dumbledore's backstory revolves around the Deathly Hallows.

Okay the thing that I can't figure ouy is that i thought the goblin had the sword when Harry and his crew robbed the bank. How did they end up with it and how did Neville end up with it during that great battle scene . I was thrilled that Neville's character developed the way it did .

Voldemort was teasing Neville and put the sorting hat on him, saying that there will be no more sorting, then Neville pulled it out of the hat like Harry in Book 2.

The sword appears in the hat when a true gryffindor needs it. The sword doesnt just stay in the hat or anything, it appears there. It wasnt with Neville when he pulled it out, but it wasnt with Harry in the Chamber of Secrets either. I suppose its just enchanted to go from one place to the hat in a time of need.

By the way I wonder what happened to Kreacher after the battle did he go back to the Black 's family house . I wonder also where do Harry and Ginnie live Godric's Hollow or Sirrius old house .

No you arent crazy. Griphook ran off with the sword when they were at Gringotts.

Your other questions are material for her Encyclopedia :p

i finished it and i thought it was great although i still had some questions

1. did i miss something because i never got how malfoy was the "true master" of the elder wand?

2. why didn't the final fight between harry and voldemort take more time or go in-depth, it seemed like one curse and that was it?

1) The Elder Wand itself recognizes the defeat of its master at the hands of another wizard and shows its loyalty (meaning, it will work properly) to the new wizard. Dumbledore was the owner of the wand after defeating Grindlewald. Dumbledore was disarmed by Draco on top of the tower at the end of book 6, thus he was 'defeated'. Snape didnt become the master of the wand because one, it was already draco's, and two, the wand will not recognize a new master if its not done by force, meaning snapes killing of dumbledore was planned, and therefore wouldnt have worked anyway. So to answer your question, the wands loyalty changed hands from Dumbledore to Draco when Draco disarmed Dumbledore on the tower in Half Blood Prince.

2) I agree, it should have been more than the one deflected curse.
