I think we should go after a QB Leak maybe?

i'm excited and I gotta be honest, I feel good with our team right now. Getting Gaddis was a great value pick as well as the masher from Colorado. Day 2 has been going well

dammit, you guys got Reggie Nelson.
*jealous*
Jacksonville's defense is gonna be dangerous. I still think you guys shouldve gotten Brady Quinn though. I love Reggie Nelson just as much as the next guy, in fact I have him as the best safety in this draft class, ahead of Landry, but passing up on Quinn could be a big mistake if Leftwich doesn't show up this year.

I think it came down to the fact that we can't wait three more years for a quaterback to develope. This team is right about to enter it's prime, and whether we like it or not Leftwich will be under center for better or for worse.

and if the Leftwich thing blows up then '08 is deep QB class featuring Brohm, Henne,Brennan,Ainge,Booty, and Ryan

To be honest, Im not too big of a fan of any of those qbs. I think next year is gonna be a poor qb year. Brohm is overrated.
But its a moot point now. You guys did a good job drafting. You have a ballhawk in the secondary who will compliment Mathis beautifully. I like the Derek Landri pick, he can be a nice nickel pass rusher inside. Got some help at linebacker. Got a great WR in Mike Walker, Ive been real big on him for a long time. Great pickup there.
Overall a great draft. If Leftwich can step up, I see big things out of Jacksonville this year. I really do.

I wouldnt disagree with that. I loved Mike Walker in this draft. I was hoping he'd fall to round 5, as most draft magazines had him in that range.
But he is well worth a 3rd, and I think he was a great pickup. Mike Walker is a steal at round 3, he's a great player.
If you look at my final mock I had for teh Giants, the Jaguars picked 3 players I had in my mock I believe.
Nelson, Walker, and Landri.
So its safe to assume that I really liked Jacksonville's draft.

If Lefty plays well this year, I see us on the same level as the Patriots in the AFC. IMO we're that good.

I like our draft overall. I woulda commented more in here, but this board froze up...
Passing on Quinn is the right decision considering that a) we are in "win now" mode and b) the organization put their trust in Leftwich.
There's talk (T-U article, if you're curious) that Reggie Nelson might be our nickel back, and Sensabaugh will be our FS...comments?

I really, really doubt it. If anything, our DBs will probably be moved all over the place depending on our packages, because of the versatility that Nelson adds.

Beat the Colts and win the division title first. But I don't disagree. The Jags were a hell of a team last year and I think so long as Leftwich and the receivers can all get on the same page and there is some more improvement, this is going to be a great year for the Jags. I love the Reggie Nelson/Josh Gattis picks and the Justin Durant pick was great as well. As if THAT defense needed to get THAT much better!!
I really do think this is the year the Jags win the division, though.

My friends call me an eternal optimist. I've predicted us to win the division the last 3 years, but I'm positive this is our year, were just too stacked.
