Seriously, walking out of the theater, it was amazing seeing every group of people arguing and trying to interrupt things. If I wasnt running on two hours of sleep and going in for a long day of work I'd most likely go see it again tonight, but I want to be awake for it haha. I figured the case with all the negative reviews were either A. they didnt get it B. They dont like to think for themselves or C. Too much talking and not enough BAYSPLOSIONS!
But seriously, I'll stop rambling.

Decent, at best. I did notice some Canadian accent for the 1st time in her career, sweet reminders of her Treena Lahey days on Trailer Park Boys.
Inception was great, I was silly high and seeing it in IMAX so I'm going to have to give it a sober viewing.

Ruffalo is headed for the Hollywood A-List, already getting very early BSA Oscar buzz for his role as the sperm donor dad in The Kids Are Alright, a film that could have 3-4 Oscar nominations for the performances alone. The critics threw their hats away at the Sundance Film Fest over TKAA:
http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/movi...sensation.html
It's got everything today's Hollywood wants, A-Listers cast including Annette Bening/Mrs. Warren Beatty & Julianne Moore, killer performances, a contemporary lesbian marriage, the sperm donor kids becoming adults & finding their long last bio-Dad, the loser sperm donor dad finds redemption, 4-star **** film.
Ruffalo was also good recently in the sidekick role in Shutter Island.

A movie about facebook...I hate this planet. Eisenberg actually looks like he can pull off being cynical...I'd like to see what he can do with a villain role. Not like a super hero villain, But like some kind of creeper. haha. Seems like he could nail that.

All kidding aside, there is going to be a major influx in video game movies fairly soon...just like we saw with the comic book movies. Video game movies have a terrible track record, but one of these is bound to be good. Damn near every blockbuster title has a movie deal in the works now. My money is on Mass Effect being good and it seems pretty hard to mess up the epicness of Dead Space. They have to hit on one of these, I hope.

I always thought Assassins Creed and Bioshock would make great movies.

Donkey Kong bitches.
Plus one of the greatest movies ever was based off of a video game:

Agreed. They both have movie deals as well. Bioshock is all scripted out already and Juan Carlos Fresnadillo (28 weeks later) is attached to direct. Problem with Bioshock is the silent protaganist, so an adaptation would have to be something completely new. But I mean, if you just make rapture eerily beautiful and atmospheric, it can be pulled off. There are actually some hang ups about the budget right now...but it sounds like it can be pretty decent, actually.
Quote:
IGN spoke with producer Gore Verbinski on what's going on with Bioshock today:
"We're working trying to make it. The problem with BioShock was: R-rated movie, underwater, horror. It's a really expensive R-rated movie," he explained. "So we're trying to figure out a way working with [director] Juan Carlos [Fresnadillo] to get the budget down and still keep so it's true to the core audience, you know? The thing is it has to be R, a hard R."

Well, I'm glad they have (seemingly) opted to try and reduce the budget to keep it R with good content, rather than raise the budget and dumb it down and make it like PG13 just to attract a bigger audience to try and recoup that money.
Nothing worse than a thriller/action adaptation that they some how pull off as a PG13 when it should easily be R.

Yup, Affleck looks like the real deal as a writer/director. It's probably going to be good. Funny, I always thought Damon was doing all the work with the pen, back in the day. Although, he did "write" Gerry. Just a whole lot of walking. haha. As actors, though...it's obviously not even close.

let's not jump the shark on this one's writing, it's based on a book.

As was Gone Baby Gone, which is still one of my favorite movies from the last few years. I liked the trailer for The Town, but my god were some of the Boston accents terrible, Renner and Lively in particular. And I say that as someone with family in Boston. I am anxious to see the flick though, as I do have faith in Affleck both as a director and as an actor.
