Zack Snyder is directing the new superman. I like it, I think supes could use some heavy action in a movie.

Easy A was surprisingly solid, and Social Network was greatness.

Is that the dude that directed 300 and Watchmen?
I had high hopes for that movie since Nolan was involved, but now.....

I loved watchmen, I know most people had different problems with it, being too faithful, awkward sex scenes etc..... But I really enjoyed it for what it was. 300 was just very meh imo.

I know Matt Reeves was one of the other finalists for the new Superman movie, I would of liked to have seen that match, he's a director with a vision. Snyder will make a good action movie, and you can bet it will have a bunch of super slow motion shots of Superman punching someone.

Brent, I think you and I are the only people who actually liked Signs. It wasn't as good as Sixth Sense or Unbreakable, but it was still solid and looks like Citizen Kane compared to every one of his movies that followed.

Should be interesting...I'm shocked he accepted the role, seeing how he didnt want to do it a few years ago. I'm glad they have an established visual director, though. Could be good.

Probably too big for Matt Reeves yet. I'm a Reeves fan as well, though.

last time I watched signs I noticed that 3 of the people in that movie went crazy between M.Night making awful movies, Mel Gibson turning into a nazi, and Phoenix turning into a hobo rapper. Luckily Joaquin was only faking.

Signs blows...the premise and resolution are garbage for even an alien movie. I dont get the love.
Only M. Night movies I liked were, the Sixth Sense and Unbreakable. He's an enormous hack, right up there with Richard Kelly, who only pinned one good script in his career.

it's an alien invasion thriller with great suspense (at least the first time you see it) but it's from the point of view of just one isolated family in the middle of the country instead of showing the whole Independence Day or War of the Worlds scope that includes the whole world. You only see/hear about the aliens from their house, it's such a good idea for an alien movie.

the aliens arent even the central focus of the film, I don't think calling it an alien movie is a fair label.

I liked signs. The first time I saw the trailer for the village I got goosebumps. I thought it was a great idea and had a ton of potential. This was the start of M night losing his mind. I think I'm the only person in the world who saw Lady in the water..... one of the WORST movies Ive seen.

I didn't think Lady in the Water was that bad, but you're talking to someone saw it for what it was: mythology.

Eh. The story was downright boring, imo. And Mel Gibson....ughhhh. And the fact that the aliens died the way they did made no sense at all. And apparently wooden doors, are also a weakness of their's. I just found it to be incredibly tacky.

I still have no idea who's going to play Super Man. Not the easiest Superhero to cast. Especially, if they stick to that 6'4 height requirement.
Brandon Routh was perfect on paper, but Superman returns...meh.

I thought they already cast the new Superman. Also, I believe they're trying to get Emma Stone to play Mary Jane.

Emma Stone has already been offered the Mary Jane role. No one has been cast for the new Superman movie yet. Zack Snyder was just named director.
Cant see anyone from his past movies getting the nod to play Supes, either. But let's be honest, Nolan will be playing an enormous part in this anyway.
