Man Apart was ok...the movie premise had been done before...
does anyone here think that Diesel would have been a better selection for the movie Hitman?

I believe he was actually offered the part and accepted it, but pulled out later. But yeah it seems it would of suit him perfectly. Though I heard the Movie was a pile, so good move.

ya i rented it tonight and watched it(saw it in theaters) and it really is a very underrated film as far as the recognition it got. Amazing movie that I will buy at some point and definitely read the book.

Into the Wild was solid. But that McCandless guy wasn't so bright.

I just finished Southland Tales and it has to be seen to be believed. Truly a ****** up movie. Anyone interested in film at all should see it, not because it was any good but because a lot can be learned from it. It really does make Donnie Darko seem every easy to understand. To sum it up Southland Tales is like Donnie Darko on crack.

just checked it out on imdb...looked sweet. I might head to the video store tonight and pick it up...is it any good, or just confusing as hell?

Southland Tales was one of the worst movies I saw of last year. Richard Kelly himself said he didn't even understand some of his script until he was writing the graphic novel. The whole plot was absurd, in the wrong way. I would've enjoyed it more if it didn't seem like it was taking itself so seriously.

It is an odd movie and I didn't really like it. I still think it is worth a watch, just to say that you have done it.

Im sure ill catch flak for saying it, but i really liked it. Scared the **** out of me though, thats for sure.

I've had these thoughts and I have figured that all Southland Tales is a waste of good Kelly-talent and a farce of Hollywood itself. You don't even have to see the movie, it's justified by the ridiculous cast put out in Southland Tales. The Rock, Seann William Scott, Justin Timberlake, Mandy Moore, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Kevin Smith, John Larroquette, and a number of misplaced Improv artists, those being Cheri Oteri, Amy Poehler, and Will Sasso.

I'm very late to this thread, but I had to comment here before going back to do some reading. If you go to the Donnie Darko website(which is still in operation amazingly) it actually blows your mind even more. There's all sorts of hidden points, and you can actually look at all(or most) of the pages from the Philosophy of Time Travel Book, which actually do a good job of helping you understand what the hell's going on in the movie, and what actually happened.

Guilty pleasure, yes. But I don't care. Fast and Furious 4 Baby!

Well good news my friends, Michelle Rodriguez has signed on to reteam with Paul Walker and Vin Diesel (in more than a cameo) in the yet to be titled Fast and the Furious 4. It should be noted that Jordana Brewster is also returning for the fourth film.

The old team is back together :). I actually enjoyed the first one, takes me back to high school.

So now they're getting them back together? After Paul did his thing and they had Lucas Black drifting?

I realize that the Halo movie project may or may not be dead(although I've heard recently that Microsoft still very much wants the project made), and I also realize that this not really trailer has nothing to do overall with any Halo movie that would be made, and was in fact designed to lead from Halo 2 to the beginning of Halo 3(I believe (longest run on sentence ever)), but I still think this is a cool video, and if the movie was anything like this, I would definately be seeing it.
Some cool little Halo thing that most of you have probably already seen

Back when the Halo movie was being discussed...it was rumored that the production company wanted Denzel Washington to voice Master Chief...
that would have been badass...

they took a wonderful storyline in Hitman and made it absolute smut, but does Halo have the promise other video game adaptations don't?

I've read that part of the reason that the movie was delayed and the original director pulled out was because the Bungee team was so dead set on the movie being absolutely faithful to the Halo universe. I read(I can't remember where sorry) that the Bungee team had a gigantic handbook that they gave to the film people about every little detail of the Halo universe. It was basically the Bible of all things Halo, and they absolutely insisted that anything in there had to be followed. No creative license for the director. So Bungee at least certainly seems dead set on a movie not completely sucking.

I just watched Hard Candy...It was good up until the end. I mean, it makes sence if you think outside the box but, I'm not so sure that's the case here. It would have been much more satisfying if they put a nice little bow on this one, imo.
Semi-related...I hate how on the IMDB boards people over analyze movies so much to make a bad movie, good or make sense. Some movies just suck and do not have an underlying meaning/message that must be brought out by the viewer. If you over analyze something so much you can draw all kinds of crazy conclusions...but, that doesnt mean that they are correct or were intended to be seen that way. Just something that urks me. Everyone see's things differently but, some people just get a little too crazy w/ things like this. (this is stemming from an argument I had w/ someone who thinks "The Invisble" is the greatest movie in the world.)
