The only difference from an actual novel is that it's sequential storytelling. That's it.

I don't even view Nolan's Batman movies as superhero movies really. I think Avengers was a perfect typical superhero movie. Lots of action, some humor and a decent story line. The Batman movies were just great films that happen to have a superhero in it.

Yes they were less 'popcorn film' than Avengers, but I'm still inclined to consider them more as a movie than a film to be honest. It's not really a negative against the film, I just think that the Batman character masks flaws and allows them to tell stories that would otherwise not be possible.

Also a super-hero doesn't need to have 'super powers'.

It's about what you believe. Anyone can be Batman. That doesn't make them a superhero.

I'd say anyone can dress up like a crime fighter and do their best to try and save the planet. But not the Batman we've come to know which exists because of Bruce's unique experiences.

Anyone can be Batman does not mean everyone can be Batman. Being Batman would require something very, very special, i.e. what brings the character into consideration as being a super hero.
