I think you were the one who mentioned it originally and I just D/Led it after your comment.
Which is typically what happens when someone here brings up a film that I've not heard of.

The problem I have with Man of Steel (and I suppose in a broader sense the new Spiderman movie) is that I don't want to watch another damned origin story. I know where Superman comes from, I know who he is, I don't need an angsty 90 minute buildup of him talking to parents and trying to "find himself" and discover his powers, all for a 5 minute confrontation with the villain in the last scene. For all the problems there were with The Incredible Hulk, that wasn't one of them - they covered the origin story in the credits and just picked up the story from there. I wish that's what they would do with Superman instead of making us suffer through an hour of "Oh, so I am an alien?"

Well the sequences are out of context. It's hard to say whether or not it will be like the original Richard Donner Superman which was structured like your typical three act story, or like Batman Begins which operates in more of a non-linear style in references to the past. I mean, if I don't see Superman in uniform for the first 45 minutes, that won't be a problem for me. Superman Returns didn't have an origin story and it was terrible. As long as the foundation of the story is solid and the characters seem worth caring about, I don't think it's that big of a deal.

The superman movie actually looks good finally! I can't wait for it. Should be ten x better then Superman Returns. It will be new life to Superman.

Anyone watched Lincoln or heard anything about it? I like Daniel Day Lewis a lot, was wondering if it was going to be worth checking out.

I'm the same way, especially just for the cheap entertainment factor.
That said, my most recent watch was Thor, which is an absolutely miserable movie.

Im not, but im just curious about something. I remember hearing how that movie was film with special cameras with a faster framrate to make the 3d crazy. Is that something only in special theatres with awesome cameras, or is that just everywhere?

There is a 24fps version, if that's what you mean.

So would the idiots at the theater know which one they were showing or the only theaters that have 48 fps ones that specifically advertise it?

My parent's TV does this too and I hate it. It makes everything look like a Soap Opera. Hopefully not all theatres do this.

First hour is good, last thirty minutes sucked. Went from a funny teddy bear, to a terrible drama.

If you like your comedy as unsubtle as humanly possible and telling instead of showing, sure.
