No, it was just very average. I liked some things about it, but on the whole it was really full of itself.
I shouldn't be surprised that you didn't like it but I am. I thought it was incredible. One of the better movies I have seen in years and I cannot wait to watch it again. Just find it odd that you watch a ton of movies and praise Looper as a classic while saying Cloud Atlas was mediocre.
I guess I understand why people didn't like Cloud Atlas but I am going to get on my high horse and say you bastards just didn't get it. So ******* unique, I really felt it was one of the greatest cinematic achievements to date. The raw energy and power in every performance, every camera movement, every moment just really resonated with me.

Because Looper took a very interesting premise to new places, and I thought the story was great. Cloud Atlas just divided up a billion segments and tried to make everything important. And you must find most people odd, because you could look at RT or Meta Critic or IMDB or just about anything, and Looper beats Cloud Atlas.

I do not care what most people think of the movie and yes I do find most people odd or more to the point have poor taste in my opinion. My opinion is not swayed by what critics think. Curious to know what new places you think the premise of Looper was taken too. If anything I felt the first half of the movie was great and then Looper was taken in a very bland and formulaic direction.

Ah yes, a man with shades trying to murder a child but isn't completely the villain is totally a formulaic direction. So much of Cloud Atlas was just so forced.
"Can I refill your eggnog for you? Get you something to eat? Drive you out to the middle of nowhere and leave you for dead?"
"Would a cupcake kill you?"

Look at it this way, if Rodgers had Allstate instead of State Farm, he'd be protected from mayhem like this

Tom Cruise movie coming out friday named for the lead character Jack Reacher. The book it's based on is called One Shot and is out on paperback if anyone wanted to read it.
I've read all 15 or so Reacher books by British author Lee Child. Best of it's kind i've ever read. The problem i have is Cruise, at 5ft whateve,r doesn't quite fit the part of the ex decorated military tough guy who is 6-5 and 240 in the book series.

Yeah. Each time I see the TV spot for Jack Reacher, I think it's just Tom Cruise in a commercial for something.. But then I realize its a movie.

It's a great collection of books about the Reacher character. Started out as this almost vicious character who saved the day of course but as the years went on he's gotten a little more cerebral. That probably coincided with them selling them on the shelfs at Costco.
