New sig done by Fenikz. If you have not seen the wrestler yet, I suggest you all should see it. Just a great film

I just realized that I have totally forgotten about one of my favorite movies which is kind of saddening. Anyway, It's a French movie titled A La Folie...Pas du Tout though it is incorrectly translated and sold in America under the name He Loves Me He Loves Me Not. I recommend this film very highly and think all of you should find a way to see it.

Did you know that the original guy set to play the Ram was Nicholas Cage? Now think about how ridiculous that movie would have been as a result.

Interesting anecdote: one of my friends that I went to see Benjamin Button with said it was the worst movie she's ever seen. Yes, she has a horrible taste in movies.

It would have been ******* awful. Bill Simmons wrote a pretty funny article on the movie, multiple mentions of Nic Cage

I remember reading way back that Aronofsky and Cage went to an ROH show to soak in the Indy atmosphere. Shortly thereafter Cage was dumped. :O

Bad people skills I guess. Maybe I underestimate Cage, but I really doubt he could get muscular enough to even be remotely convincing. He could pull off the "I'm old and my estranged daughter hates me" like a champ, but you have to figure that he needs to look like a wrestler first and foremost.
If he had ended up being the guy, this movie might have been the first Aronofsky movie I disliked, so I'm happy that remedied.

I really dislike Cage a lot at least in the past 5 years or so. The only movie I liked that he was in recently was Lord of War.

Cage did quit the movie, he wasnt dumped...and for all you hating on Nick Cage, wake the hell up because he is a fantastic actor...sure, he hasnt done alot of impressive work recently, but he older stuff is fantastic. Leaving Las Vegas, Matchstick Men, The Weather Man, Adaptation, Raising Arizona, and yeah more recently Lord of War. He certainly isnt a bad actor. I think he could have done fine in The Wrestler...now the movie wouldnt have been the feel good sensation it is with Mickey Rourke, because of the obvious parodies between the movie and Rourke himself, but still.

Well, Cage 'quit' because Aronofsky wanted Rourke. And its not cause Cage is bad or anything, but simply because Rourke was better for the role.
Quote:
|
Aronofsky stated that Cage was "a complete gentleman, and he understood that my heart was with Mickey and he stepped aside. I have so much respect for Nic Cage as an actor and I think it really could have worked with Nic but… you know, Nic was incredibly supportive of Mickey and he is old friends with Mickey and really wanted to help with this opportunity, so he pulled himself out of the race."

Brad Pitt can play any role. In any movie. In any century.
