One guy I would like to see us sign is Packers C Evan Dietrich-Smith

Dietrich-Smith is 27 and is a solid starter. Last year his cap number was $1,323,000.

I would expect it would cost somewhere the contract Bears OG Matt Slausen recently signed:

1/2/2014: Signed a four-year, $12.8 million contract. The deal contains $4.9 million guaranteed, including a $1.67 million signing bonus and a first-year roster bonus of $1.5 million. Another $400,000 is available through incentives based on playing time and team performance. Slauson is eligible for $100,000 annual workout bonuses throughout the contract's life. 2014: $730,000, 2015: $2.75 million, 2016: $2.85 million, 2017: $2.9 million, 2018: Free Agent

from overthecap.com, the cap impact would be

$2,747,500 cap number
($730,000 base salary, $417,500 prorated signing bonus, $1,500,000 roster bonus, $100,000 workout bonus)

I think we should also try to get our salary cap under control in a sustainable way, particularly with teams able to roll over cap money into future years.

The biggest problem is that we have a lot of cap room invested in older vets who aren't performing at that level.

We also need to get younger and healthier.

are they the guys you want to resign?

I would add Josh Brown to that, he is cheap and solid.
