Dante Hughes is looking good.
Ed Johnson, could very well be the starting NT come opening day. He's been a pleasant surprise.

Who knew Geo was so humorous? Not I.

I have the mad skillz, yo.
CJ 2 catches for 45 yards, long of 24.
Josh Betts is impressing me.

I am really stoked on Betts right now, but I doubt he finds a job on the team. I really think that the team loves Sorgi. I am certain Shaun King outperformed him last year, but then again we see Sorgi holding the clipboard.

Good:
Ed Johnson-Great burst off the line, really made a few good plays throughout the game. It's possible to see him start Week One, but I think he is just a lock to make the team.
Ramel Meekins-Undersized DT but looked quick off the line. Made a good stop or two, no chance at the team I think but he is PS material.
Josh Betts-Looked far better than Sorginatior V4.0. Made moves with his feet and arm. One terrible throw that resulted in an INT but I guess it's a lack of game time.
Tyjuan Hagler-Manimal in the Measureable Department but today he looked like that guy. He should at least some PT this season.

Also, I would recommend going to a site like thegamelive.com various radio feeds of your favorite pro sports team.

Ed Johnson sounds promising, in saying that im yet to see him play and have only heard of him for a couple of weeks. but still ill claim i think hes promising all the same. Genuinely excited about Tyjuan getting on the field this year too

Jamie Dukes on NFLN had a good breakdown on Tony Ugoh's preseason debut. Suffice to say the rookie has room to improve.
Also, Kenny Irons injured his left ankle. I'm kind of not surprised, but nonetheless I hope he's okay and recovers quickly.

The Bengals-Lions game is on NFLN now.
I wasn't aware that Skyler Green was on the Bengals roster.
Rud Johnson's first carry, 20 yards, and in typical Bengals' fashion, they get an offsides penalty before the second play of the game. :D
Geez, Daniel Bullocks trucked Chad Johnson.
(Edited for correction.)

Ok, my official Bengals 1st half review (2nd half didn't record, ARGH, I have to stay up until 4 to see it all... Oh well). DISCLAIMER: Since it is preseason I will not use words such as terrible or awesome, just the lesser good or bad.
Ahmad Brooks: Looked solid, was great in run D, had Cason on a TFL but Cason wiggled loose at the last second then on a pass play Ahmad was put 1-1 with Cason and ran with him stride for stride... This was the most impressive part of his night. In run D he was doing a good job of plugging lanes. Without him blitzing though he was kind of quiet otherwise, didn't get thrown at much which was dissapointing to me. I really hate to say this but when I see him out there I just think of Ray Lewis (NOTE: I'm not saying he is or will be as good as Ray Lewis, just seeing his build and watching him roam I think of Ray-Ray).
Marvin White: I hope that as the season progresses he eventually becomes the starter. In the 1st half he has an INT and was just a step from the WR's two other times, he looked good in coverage... I noticed him more than Dexter Jackson that's for sure.
Madieu Williams: Madieu was a playmaker in '04 and early '05 but after he hurt his shoulder wasn't the same last year. In what little time he played today he was making plays again and had the two first tackles, I was pleased with this... Hopefully a sign of things to come.
Eric Henderson: If anything in his swap to LB he can be a good situational pass rusher this year.
Rashad Jeanty: Looked good, he is a solid LB.
Robert Geathers: I have no idea why he's still a situational guy, he's great in run coverage... Especially against the cutbacks.
DT's: Kendrick Allen and Mike Myers looked good in run D, overall the run D tonight was pretty solid but the Lions really didn't run so that didn't help things.
Secondary: Leon Hall didn't look good on two different plays, Deltha O'Neal didn't look great either. I was not happy with the first strings pass coverage.
Oline: Even though it was less Levi Jones and Willie Anderson they did well. Pass defense was great (yeah, I know, in the face of a fierce preseason blitz package), run blocking was so-so... Either way Stacy Andrews will be a beast, he shot someone back 6-7 yards on one block. Part of the reason the run D wasn't great was because Jeremi Johnson wasn't at FB, I don't even know who the guy that started was haha.
Rushing: Rudi looked quicker today than he did last year, I was happy with that. Kenny Irons was fast, loved what I saw there I think he has the big play ability at RB we need. I think it was just a sprain, I'd imagine he misses next weeks game though.
WR: Reggie McNeal and Bennie Brazell look to have promise, McNeal especially but they're far from that point. I wish Chris Henry wasn't an idiot, he is a good WR.
QB: Carson looked great except one pass where he overthrew CJ, Doug Johnson looked terrible (this is the one spot I will use the word terrible because he was). As if our chances without Carson were slim enough now they're really bad.
Overall the first half I was pleased with. The special teams looked good in kick coverage which I was concerned with, to prevent Drummond from doing much is a good first test. We lost a lot of key ST guys last year.
Second half I want to see Johnathan Fanene, Matt Toeiana, Eric Henderson, Marvin White and Leon Hall some more hopefully.

You're right. I could have sworn I heard the announcer say Josh, but it was Daniel Bullocks of the Detroit Lions.

Kenton was out for the game with an injury.
Dawson looked a bit tentative with the ball in his hand but considering it was his first ever action AND the backup OL sans Dylan Gandy, is pathetic you really didn't see his full potential. However, he made one REAL GREAT juke on a catch.

I'm VERY thankful for Skyler Green... All our KR's got hurt last year and our PR (Keiwan Ratliff) would catch the ball... Stare around for about 2 seconds, then start running zigzags towards each sideline and get tackled for no gain on a good return.
All I know is our run D will be good this year, I will make no promises about the pass defense. On paper it's better but tonight it didn't show when the 1st stringers were in.
Chad did get popped, I saw it coming.

News isn't looking good on the Kenny Irons front, this sucks he was going to be an added weapon and backup option for Rudi. Marvin said after the game it was a significant knee injury (I thought it was ankle) and that he'll have a MRI tomorrow.
Bleh, this is a great way to start off the preseason... Oh well, at least we could have Chris Perry get healthy *laughs sarcastically*.
EDIT: Instead of triple posting I'll just put my 2nd half info here.
Marvin White looked very good last night, both in coverage and run defense. I wouldn't shed a tear if he started over Dexter Jackson game one.
Matt Toeiana showed a lot of potential last night, yes he had the 80 yard INT TD return but other than that he provided a great pass rush and had a very solid motor.
Chinedum Ndukwe sure can hit, every tackle he had he popped the guy. I'm not sure how he'll be in coverage (botched the only one I got to see), if he could cover he'd be a great saftey but I'm yet to see/hear anything to lead me to believe that's the case.
I would personally rather see Earl Everett make the team than Ed Hartwell, Hartwell wasn't necessarily bad last night but Everett had solid speed and is a better fit for what we need. Shiver, Hartwell actually played some SLB last night with Caleb Miller at WLB so I'm not sure if they intend on keeping him at WLB or what.
