Texas Tech's Michael Crabtree
How about freshman WR Michael Crabtree's start?
Graham Harrell's favorite target has 38 catches 538 yards & 8 TDs in three games, albeit against Conference USA competition(SMU, UTEP, Rice).
Big game this weekend for Harrell & Crabtree, who open Big 12 South play in Stillwater.
Will Crabtree or Bowman be the best WR on the field?

Crabtree has had a great start, but this is the Heisman watch thread, and he has 0% of winning the Heisman

i completely agree. If they finish the season with only 2 losses. He should be AT LEAST one of the finalists.

Can we remove DeSean Jackson from the watch list? Yes, I understand that he's an electrifying player, but any other player with his stats would NEVER be considered for the Heisman. He hasn't even looked like the best receiver on his team. Other than the amazing punt return in week 1, what has he done to deserve being a Heisman candidate? Since when is the Heisman based on the potential of a player?

Was Colt brennan's injury that serious that he couldn't come out and at least run a few snaps against a weak D1-AA team? The fact that Hawaii still put up 66 points without him should be devastating to his heisman hopes

it might, but they played a crap I-AA team and graunke threw 2 picks and only 285 yards. So passing wasnt the key reason why they won.

Yes but the fact the team can win big without him proves he's not as valuable to the team as a Heisman trophy candidate should be

They can murder D1-AA teams without him, but that's not that shocking. If they did that in a real game then maybe, but in a game like that its not a big deal.

Watch out as Brennan returns to the field this week against the always dangerous Idaho team to resume his attempts at a Hesiman trophy. LOL what a joke.

Of course I like other teams. Why do you ask?B ecause Hawaii plays a joke schedule and to mention Colt Brennan in the Heisman race is a joke? Like I have stated before he has 0% chance of winning the Heisman. In the other thread all I am saying if Rutgers really wants to be known as a big time team. Then play some out of conference games that arent: Buffalo, Navy, and Norfolk State. Come on and do you think with that schedule Ray Rice has any shot at a Heisman.... 0% chance.

They play West Virgina, Louisville, South Florida, and Cincy. Those teams arent that bad at all.

Defensively? Yeah, Cincy and SF are good, but the majority of that schedule is an ideal breeding ground for offensive stats to rapidly grow on themselves like germs in a neglected porta-potty. Especially when your team is so conscious of them and fans the flames as much as they can like a bum spraying diarrhea on the walls of the aforementioned infected turdhouse. Comparing stats in the college game is a futile exercise that will rarely yield meaningful data. Some of the best players in the game don't even start for their team. And some of the best statistical producers wouldn't even start for a whole lot of other teams. They should have an award based on stats, that clearly states that's what it's based on. And then there's the Heisman. Which should be given to who is perceived to be the best player in College Football. Both are pretty meaningless and can't help but be inaccurate and biased, but they provide fans something to follow and argue over and players something to strive for. Some guys should be rendered ineligible for the Heisman imo, just based on the lack of capable opponents. You can't rightly be proclaimed the best at anything until you at least make an attempt to prove it. Many players in this game will look like the best against teams like Norfolk St or Northwestern. But very few will look great against the stiffest of competition. You've gotta prove yourself week in and week out. A game or two against a few mediocre defenses doesn't reveal much in a comparison against a guy who's schedule is laden with tough opponents. Stats should be taken lightly and always looked at from the proper perspective in such comparisons.

Eh, that's what most media guys will think too. Fact of the matter is that Hawaii was 21-10 at the half and Graunke was so bad that Hawaii reverted to a running game in that half. The last time we played a AA team, Colt had 5 TDs 1 minute into the second quarter. There was a huge difference between how the team is with Colt and without. Graunke was boo'ed by the crowd constantly. You wouldn't have guessed it by the final score. Special teams and defense made two scores in the second half by themselves and also created multiple turnovers for the offense to score from close. Our 3rd team actually played better than the 2nd team because by then Charleston was worn out trying to play hungry players that want to prove they deserve more playing time.

LOL stop. Dont even try to compare USC and Hawaii by seeing the results of 2 games where they play the same team.

Yeah, you know what will happen. Hawaii will smash Idaho like no one's business. That won't help backup your critic.
Just like Hawaii smashed UNLV when Wisconsin barely got by.

Okay just like Appalachian beat Michigan. Are you saying Appalachian can beat Penn State? You dont base it on that at all. Who cares if Hawaii beats Idaho by 50. USC had their 2nd and 3rd stingers in by the 3rd quarter.
