he was very weak against the run and he simply got beaten out by jay richardson, a fifth rounder.

good god what is people's obsession with Q. Moses??? Here's the breakdown and final breakdown for people. Moses was doing well in camp, even said to be "unblockable." Well then we hit the real world and he got put into real games and he was blockable. Also teammates said he was going backwards as far as run support. Oakland's 5th round choice Jay Richardson out of OSU also had a great camp, but he was able to show up in games, getting penetration and holding his own against the run. The Raiders also had signed Chris Clemons, a DE/LB tweener who's been in the league a few years w/out getting a fair shot, who was as good of an edge rusher as Moses but also is a ST stud and can play LB if needed. So taking that all into consideration he was released because he was outplayed and Kiffin stated that no player was a roster lock, and he would take the best players. Moses was not the best DE on the squad and was booted in favor of Kelly, Clemons and Richardson. Now can we please move on and forget about a guy who has been lackluster since his standout junior year?

Well, I think people's obsession with Moses is that he was drafted in the 3rd round. Most 3rd rounders make the squad. And also the fact that coming into his senior season, people (like Scott Wright) had him as a top 10 pick.

Yah I was a little surprised that Moses didn't make it, but Richardson was all over the field in preseason making plays. Maybe QM will get signed to the practice roster....if not, oh well, our defense is excellent with or without him.

yeah well that just what Kiffin was talking about, no player here is on a scholarship, and a guys draft status shouldn't dictate whether he makles the roster or not, oakland took a gamble on Moses and got burned, but kept 2 other 3rd rounders and 8 of 11 draft picks overall.

People are making too much of his 3rd round status, a lot 3rd rounders will get cut or will barely even play.

He looked good rushing the passer, but everyone knew he sucked against the run. I thought we would use him on passing downs, but we simply couldnt risk the liability with the emergence of Jay Richardson. However, we Raider fans must realize that there is obviously a weak link inside our personell dept, because the 1st pick of the third round should make the team, no ifs ands or buts about it. Also 5th rd pick Frampton was cut. Taking into account the fact that UFA's often make the team, we simply need to do a better job of scouting in the future.

quentin moses could have been a pass rushing specialist like last years rookie mark anderson and eventually develeop into a dwight freeney-esque talent. too bad they werent patient with him cuz theres a lot of raw potential here that once made him a top 10 nfl draft talent.

you can't say he could have been a freeney-esque player, we'll just have to wait and see. Freeney is actually not bad against the run....................
