A lot of things can be said about the game ... but I couldn't stand our playcalling today. Not a big fan at all. Didn't see the flexibility needed on the defensive side, and didn't do enough with the run game on offense. When we did run, we misused Thomas Jones.
All in all, congrats to the Colts, the better team clearly won.

I LOVE THE COLTS!!!!!!!!!!! Peyton now goes down as one of the best QBs. Something stupid I heard on ESPN radio was that I heard one of the guys saying that he still has Brady a little above Manning.
With this championship, Manning surpasses Brady.

Why is that a stupid statement? Brady won the big one 3 times already. I agree that when it's all said and done, Peyton may be thought of more highly than Brady, but I wouldn't call that ESPN radio personality stupid for saying Brady is ahead of Manning right now.

I really hope Bears fans don't completely and unequivocally trash Rex Grossman. He shows promise and is a winning quarterback in his first year of starting, nevermind the fact that he's the best quarterback by far on the current roster.
The way he's been treated by the media this year has been ridiculous, really.

Bear fans in general will want to lynch him but the ones on the board realize we don't have a lot of options and he will probably be the starter next year. We can't bring in a rookie to develop because we need to win now. There really arent any FA QBs that would be any better than Griese. Grossman could suddenly overcome his inconsistency and boneheaded mistakes in the offseason but I have a feeling its going to be a long year for us in 2007.
Besides it wouldnt be Chicago Bears football without a good old fashioned QB controversy ...
 Rex Grossman ruined my life

How crazy is it that Kelvin Hayden's 1st career interception comes in Super Bowl XLI, for a pick six no less? And that he was raised as and admittedly - on NFL Gameday - still is a Bears fan to boot.
(And this is exactly why I held off on responding to the "Review X's draft picks" threads, with respect to the Colts, until after the Super Bowl. The season wasn't over.)

The SB showed us the the Bears still have many questions going into the off-season. I never wanna hear talk about 1985 again because this Bears defense is slighty overrated. We were made to believe that this D was amazing but in reality their just average. They were the best team in the NFC but we could all see how much better the AFC is.
It's still to early to tell but I think Rex will turn out to be a averge QB in the league. Some of the throws tonight were just awful. I think Rex really wanted to wing it all over the field and got greedy. They abandoned the run when they were having good success with it.
Overall this lose has to be blamed on the Defense & coaching staff. Special teams were the only real bright spot.

When Devin Hester ran the kickoff back, to me it was not very good.. Cause then the offense couldn't get into rythem like the colts did.

I still can't figure out how Peyton got MVP. Rhodes definately deserved it over him. You could even make an argument for Bob Sanders.

I wish they could have done what Nantz thought of and given Rhodes and Addai the Co-MVP's. Peyton won it because this is being dubbed by the media as his Super Bowl.

Dude this game was close throughout.
Only the Hayden INT return put it to 2-possesion game.
I know the game was sloppy, but I acctually think it added to the excitement.
2 different times teams fumble it away only to get it back on the very next play.
It was an excellent game.

Or maybe the loss of probowlers Tommie Harris and Mike Brown took the level of the defense down a notch. No one on this board was comparing this team to the 85 bears so get off your high horse of "I always knew this team was overrated". Why do you guys always pop up when we lose but not when we actually dominate a team? Its like youre waiting in the shadows waiting to pop out to point and scream "OVERRATED!!!".
This was a damn good team that lost some key players on defense and still made it to the Superbowl. They then lost to another damn good team in a close game until their young and inexperienced QB couldnt shoulder the weight of the entire offense without the help of the running game. I didn't like the offensive gameplan but I give credit to Colts D for making us look bad.
If you don't think the come back victory in Arizona or any of the other games in which the defense dominated make this defense something special or at least above average I don't know what to tell you.

Because they want the little darling to be larger than life. It's the same that it was for Brady in his first superbowl. He won the MVP and had a horrible game. Now they will try and tell us that Manning is the greatest of all time, but anyone that knows football will see that he isn't even close to being the greatest. A superbowl doesn't make you the greatest.
